Mamas of twins

Hey ladies, I had my first U.S. Yesterday at 6w6d and we are having twins!  We got to hear both heartbeats, each at 137.  Praying those sweet babies keeping growing.

Has as anyone else found out that they're having twins?  These will be our rainbow babies.  I'd love to connect with anyone experiencing this excitement of 2 :)

  • That's so exciting! I'm having a singleton, but good luck to you!
  • Congratulations! And yay for a good heartbeat, hoping they cook a good long time for you.

Did you have any indication before hand or an inkling? We have our US Friday so we'll know then if we're for one or two.

  • Congratulations!  Double the blessings!

I don't have my scan until after my Friday morning beta-draw so until then I shall operate under the likely assumption that I've got a singleton and that they are happy, healthy, and growing.

@waitingforkiwi thank you! I have PCOS and was on letrozole to help my follicles grow.  I had a mature follicle on each side so we knew it was definitely a possibility! & I think in my heart I knew, but it was still surreal to see both babies.  Hope your US on Friday goes well!

Good luck to everyone with your upcoming appointments.  Prayers for all healthy, growing babies!
  • @girvin21 Oh man, does that mean fraternal? Grats - are you Team Green or finding out?

  • Twins- how exciting! Congrats!
  • @waitingforkiwi they are fraternal:).  We've decided since we have two little ones coming that we will find out.

    Thanks @ashleyp625
  • Congratulations!:) I'm not having twins but I am a twin, and it was so nice growing up to have a sibling so close. We live far apart now but still talk and message all day every day, your little beans will be lucky to have each other:)
  • Congratulations!! I'm not having twins but I am a twin! They actually have never skipped a generation in my family so I won't be surprised if my twin sister or I wind up having twins!

  • Congrats!

I had 2 embryos transferred, but my ultrasound won't be for 2.5 weeks to see how many stuck around. My intuition says both!

This would be my third pregnancy, but first time with twins.  I just have the burden of carrying them around though, they will be kindly passed over to their father (I am just a surrogate) when the time comes :)

My nieces are twins, and 4 of my friends have twins (all unassisted, so totally insane) and everyone agrees, its harder at first but in a lot of ways easier later on. And watching your children have such a tight bond is a beautiful thing.

Wishing you a happy and healthy multiple pregnancy, and hope to be joining the club myself :)
  • @EJChapman123 sending good thoughts your way for your ultrasound!  You are so wonderful to carry these little one(s) for their dad.  Can't wait to hear if there is 1 or 2
  • We haven't found out anything yet as fAR as how many or what gender. But FI already has a beautiful set of 3 year old fraternal twins. He continues to tease me saying that first he had 1. Then came 2. So it only makes logical see for this pregnancy to be triplets.

However twins run in both sides of the family.

  • Just checking in to see if there are more October twins on the way :) we had an US at 8w4d last week and both heartbeats were still strong and one of them was moving around-so cool!
  • I am expecting twins! We have been struggling with IF for 3.5 years and IVF #3 finally stuck. We transferred 2 embryos and luckily they both stuck! We had our first US on 2/19 at 6w1d and it was absolutely amazing to see 2 tiny little heartbeats :) Congrats to you!

  • Yay!! Congrats ladies!  It'll be nice to share insights through this journey :).  My biggest symptom right now is exhaustion but otherwise feeling good!
  • Hey twin moms! Do any of you care to start a weekly check in? This way you can all connect on a regular basis?
  • That sounds great!

Most of the check-ins are on Monday. I moved the food/menu one to Saturday though. You can do whatever suits your needs!

I honestly don't know b/c I haven't had my u/s yet. I know I have increased chance of a twin pregnancy because of my age. I had thought it was impossible b/c I haven't been bent double with constant morning sickness, but after reading your posts, I guess maybe it is. I must say I have NEVER felt this overwhelmingly tired before and I have been losing  a little weight even while eating more. Also, I can feel my uterus-yes it's my uterus, not gas-at 7-8 weeks. Who knows? I'll keep you posted.

  • Just found out today I'm having twins. Twins don't run in my family and we're not sure about DH's family. It was a complete shock to us and we had no idea. I had been teasing DH about twins since before we got our BFP.

  • Congrats!!! Hopefully we'll find out one way or the other soon! SO and I both have a strange inkling that we are having twins, and every time our intuition is in sync, it seems to pan out that way.
  • I have my first ultrasound on the 15 and I have been told by many people they think I'm having twins. It does run in my family. And I'm technically 10 weeks and feel like I'm showing like im 15-16 weeks. Does anyone else who is pregnant with twins feel that they show sooner than normal?
  • Only an U/S can confirm how many babies you are having.  "Showing early" isn't a symptom.  That being said, I am having twins and my uterus is measuring 4 weeks ahead and this is my 2nd pregnancy so a small bump has formed.

  • Fraternal twins here too! They do run on both sides of the family, and I kind of had a feeling. I do feel like I'm "showing" a lot, but that is also pretty typical of second pregnancy.

Hi everyone! I had an ultrasound this morning and found out I am expecting di/di twins. I am totally shocked, excited, and scared. I haven't yet seen a twin mom check in.... I saw someone suggested it earlier. Is this something people are interested in? If so, I'd be happy to start it. I saw @br0co1ii posted about this earlier but I'm not sure how to go about getting it started.
  • @DianaCali why don't you go ahead and start it? No one had offered and I think that was the only reason we don't have one yet. I don't check this everyday or else I would. :)
  • @samijrichards I will go ahead and start one! I think I'll wait until the end of the week and post it on Sunday. Mondays are super busy for me at work so Sundays are easier. Hopefully that's OK with everyone else... if not LMK.
  • Thanks @DianaCali ! That sounds great!
  • Thanks @DianaCali - Sunday sounds great! & congrats!!
  • Congratulations to all of the mamas who are expecting (singletons and twins)! What an exciting time.
I'm also expecting twins in October  :)  I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow. My morning sickness has been quite an experience but manageable. I cannot get used to these hunger pains. Anyone else with twins get intensely hungry, ALL the time?
  • Had my first US at 8w1d today and found out it's twins. Nice to have a group to experience the same things. Dr said I'll probably end up delivering in sept though so i might lurk on the sept bmb for a little bit too
