Clomid advice-- ttc #2

Hi all-
I have a 13 month old and am on month 7 of ttc #2. Me and dh are 33. Our son took 8 months to conceive and he was conceived naturally (I know 8 months is not long in the scheme of things but I was quite stressed about it and was about to start clomid)..... I ovulate regularly and all seems normal (hsg ok, sperm ok) though my FSH is a bit high at 11.5. 

Here is my question: my RE is willing to prescribe clomid with trigger shot and iui this month. . . I so want kids close in age and feel tempted to just do it though now that I have the prescription I am feeling cold feet about side effects and also wondering if I'm just being too impatient and should wait the full year....

for anyone who has either been on clomid or considered it but waited, advice??? I go back and forth by the minute and need to decide by day 5 which is Monday...

    It's a touch choice.  I have been on clomid twice.  The first time I didn't respond at all, never ovulated that cycle and got a cyst. Had to take a medicine to bring on a period.  The second time I took it it was combined with some injections. I did respond and at my IUI I had 2 mature follicles with a possible 3rd..The IUI didn't work and again Ihad a cyst that delayed my next cycle.  Cysts are fairly common from it but not everyone gets them.  Some people get some bad side effects, I did not..The worst for me aside from the cysts was it thinned my lining a lot. I had to go on estrogen vaginally to thicken it up so that a potential embryo would even implant.

    Gosh thanks... And when you didn't ovulate the first time on clomid you had been ovulating regularly before? Like if made you stop ovulating?

    Yes..but I am not sure it was the clmid that made me not ovulate..I think it migth have just been an off cycle. My dr said everyone has cycles where they don't ovulate and you just don't know and we think that may have been one for me..coincedentally I was on clomid which between not ovulating and a cyst I never got a period.
