Peaks and Pits, pregnancy craving and aversion addition!

Just for fun, I thought we could all reply with our "peak" (favorite food you are craving right now) and our "pit" (food aversion or smell you can't stand right now)
I'll do mine first!

Peak:  Anything cheesy and fried!
Pit:  My children's classrooms when I volunteer.  Why do little kids fart so much?

  • Peak: Ice cream, anything chocolate  or sweet

Pit: ground beef, and turkey. Most meats aren't all that appealing really.
  • I'm with @2015dee. I can't stop eating. I didn't have this the first time around. I'm trying to manage it but not doing so hot.
  • Peak: Sweet Potato Fries
    Pit: eggs
  • Peak: Lays sour cream and onion stax
pit: middle school body odor and freaking Axe body spray in the hallway at school. I swear they bathe in it when they leave P.E.!
  • I haven't had any cravings or aversions yet. But certain things have been tasting AMAZING lately. Yesterday it was an M&M cookie. Today it was leftover soup. Like, it was as if it was the first time I'd ever experienced eating those things.

  • Peak: Anything cheese
Pit: Nothing food yet, but smells definitely. We have an elderly man that comes into my work and sadly no one takes care of him so his odor is quite off-putting even if you're not pregnant, but when he walks by now I really have to hold my breath or I'd gag.

  • Peak: Pad Thai. It's one of the few cooked foods that doesn't make me want to gag. Also I ate an entire  (large) plate of it for lunch this week and felt perfectly happy after. Everything else cooked makes me want to vomit immediately after eating.
Pit: the smell of meat cooking. Anything cooked and cheesy  :s

  • Peak: kiwis, bananas, and all fruit. Also WATER insatiably
    Pit: meat
  • Peak: fruits and salads. I've had a salad every day since my BFP
Pit: sweets like sodas and candy, and I took a bite of my husband's lasagna today, and all I could taste was fennel. So. Gross.

Peak: mug root beer.. oh and toast with lots of butter..

Pit: stinky feet.. I'm a nurse and I have smelled so many stinky feet- it is slowly killing me.. like making my eyes water.
  • Peak: Cheesy Potatoes and any warm foods.
Pit: Salads and any cold foods.  Not food related, but by far the worst is people who smoke.  I've never liked the smell of cigarettes but now I found even the slighted whiff DISGUSTING.  At work I had to sit in the room for an hour with someone who could only be a chain smoker because she REEKED.  I felt like I was going to pass out or throw up.

  • No peaks yet but a pit: Couldn't go near the italian sausage I cooked with pasta last night.  Cut it open and took one look and nope, not gonna happen.

@lmno304 , was there actually fennel in the lasagna or were you just tasting like it was?  I've tasted cilantro in something that had no cilantro in it.

Just the thought of the heavy feeling I get when I eat bread is making me nauseous right now.

  • @curlysue22 yes, there was sausage in it. I usually love sausage, especially italian sausage, but it literally tasted like i had a mouthful of fennel seeds. Ugh
  • I'm into cheese (grilled cheese, on noodles, by itself) and taco bell. I'm not liking anything casserole related, or fruit. Nothing too bad yet.

  • Peak: all the sweets (but this isn't just pregnancy related....I have a huge sweet tooth)

Pit: first aversion this morning...and its a devastating one: coffee!! The smell was weird while it was brewing and then I almost gagged when I tried to take a sip. I LOVE coffee and used to be a 2-3 cup a day girl, cut back while TTC but was planning on drinking my 1 cup a day. I hope this doesn't last long! Haha
  • Peak: anything with carbs. A place by my office makes the best homemade pita and I actually braved the cold today just to get one.

Pit: Coffee, which is kind of tragic. I have poured a cup every day this week and haven't been able to take more than a sip.  I love coffee!
  • Peak: scrambled eggs with swiss cheese and mustard (yep...whole grain mustard, not like French's), all of the bread in the world
Pit: raw veggies :( no salads for me
  • peak-no idea, I don't have bad nausea but food isn't exciting me, and I am normal such a foodie.

pit- anything with tomatoes. We ordered pizza and I couldnt even finish a slice, tomato sauce is just not doing it for me.

    Pit: Nothing

... I'm just waiting for the aversions to kick in. DS1 I couldn't stand meat until about 18 weeks... and then it was all about the cheeseburgers!

  • Peak: cheese. Second night in a row having a middle of the night snack of babybel and swiss.

Pit: went to our favorite Italian place last night to celebrate DH's birthday and first prenatal appt and it kind of put me off. Too many strong flavors all together. It was weird. I ate it but it was a bit of a struggle.
  • @moquat I know what you mean, we went out to eat a couple weekends ago and all the smells were just too overwhelming, lost my appetite and I had been starving. I told DH we can't go out to eat for a while lol

Starting yesterday, cooking meat makes me want to puke immediately. BLEGH!

  • Peak: Hot and Spicy  or sweets

    Pit: bread and pasta
  • Peak: anything salty, carbs, and sauteed spinach (I was craving vegetables yesterday so we got some spinach and it hit the spot... Now I want it all the time haha)

Pit: So far, nothing really. At work a coworker at crab soup the other day and I hated the smell, which is way off for me. My husband's French vanilla coffee this morning smelled awful to me too! But I have been terribly hungry and wanting to eat just about everything!
