Late again today, so much to catch up on! I'm sympathizing with all of you with sleep & congestion issues!!
@shannonrnbsn - I think the name thing is pretty typical now in nursery's but I fully intend to do it in ours! I think its a cute & easy way to add some wall decor.
How far along are you? 20+6
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Another bad night of sleep. I swear I'm turning into a baby myself, once I have some breakfast in the AM (DH usually brings it to me about an hour before I have to get up) I eat and fall soooo soundly asleep for the last hour before my alarm & I"m thanking the full stomach for that... I'm afraid of what will happen to my weight if I start eating when I wake up in the middle of the night to see if it helps... but I need my sleep!!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Nothing new today... same old registry/shopping online/ pinteresting nursery ideas. I've decided that boys are already less expensive as I can make a boy nursery WAY less expensive than the girl ideas I have in mind!!
Questions? N/A
GTKY: Stolen from another board; Does your state or town have any weird or unusual traditions? I live at the NJ shore so everyone has seafood festivals each summer. I don't find them weird or unusual but I guess if you don't live by the beach they could be seen that way! Last year one of the neighboring towns festivals had to get shut down because so many people showed up that the town was over capacity, roads were closed, etc. We really like our seafood
@crdo why a possum?! Does the possum have a name? How intriguing!
The original name of the town in the 1830s was "Possom Snout", so I guess it's an homage to that? The possom does have a name--Spencer. Welcome to the Deep South!
@SMLmom : Just bought Zantac 75 and will pop a pill before dinner tonight and let you know! I get it a lot when I lay down for bed so we'll see if it helps.
@Nicknshan : Good luck at your u/s today!! Let us know how it goes!
@shannonrnbsn : I'm from St. Louis (not there anymore - but love that city!!) and I had the best salad of my life at an italian place on the hill - I think it was Zia's? They used this delicious cheese they called Provel (Mozz and Provolone) that was to die for. It was just their basic dinner salad too.
@ahernandez : You gave me the idea!! And I have felt a few kicks going straight down on my cervix. I think it's pretty normal. Also just felt one on my bladder I think.
@tjenkins528 : Now that I think about it, the Chocolate Festival would probably not have been a good idea. I had one small piece of chocolate the other day and got massive heartburn.
@parsonsperson : Yea, St. Louis! I miss that town. I always remember there being so many things for kids like the Magic House and the FREE awesome zoo!
Sooo I totally had a question but then pregnancy brain got a hold of it and now I can't remember it! GAH! Gonna have to write it down next time.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Super tired today- had a late night last night for a work event and early morning for another work event and clocked in 6 hours of sleep. Definitely feeling to today. Rave: Excited to see some old friends tonight for the first time since I announced being prego. Should be a fun night (if I can stay awake!)
What are you doing to prepare for baby? DH finally looked at baby names last night and started a list while I was at more work event. We might actually have a name for this little girl before she's born, woo hoo!
Questions? I still have this weird feeling in my groin like a pulled muscle for the past 2 weeks that won't go away. I'm assuming that its all it is and/or growing pains as things shift. Anyone else having word muscle issues like this?
GTKY: Stolen from another board; Does your state or town have any weird or unusual traditions? Oh man, do I have a lot! I grew up in a small town outside of Chicago that has an annual Turkey Testicle Festival. No joke. A towny bar fries up turkey testicles and they make a huge fest out of it. It always seems to make national news or the punch line of some comedians standup bit, like Jay Leno a few years back. I have never been and never plan to go, ick! Where I live now is along a river with several very charming towns that have lots of festivals. A summer fest, Scarecrow Fest, Festival of the Vine, Swedish Days, and such. Its a lot of fun to visit those and partake in the community events. I'm also outside of Chicago, so we have lots of traditions here. St. Paddy's day is huge and they dye the Chicago river green also we have lots of corned beef, ruebens, green beer, etc. We take our hot dogs and pizza seriously here. No ketchup on your dogs and you must get it Chicago Style with the pickle, mustard, chopped onions, tomato, sport peppers, and celery salt on a poppyseed bun. Pizza comes deep dish, but I usually only have that kind maybe once a year.

DS 9/2/13 was a BFP from an IUI! Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!

Hahaha- I needed a good laugh. I enjoy all of this (and still think Spencer is a nice name- for a baby as well as a possum).
@shannonrnbsn and @BakerBird525 YAY St. Louis!! We are currently living right on the line between University City and Olivette (our place is in the Ladue school district). I used to live in South City right across from the Botanical Garden, that was a really neat area, but my favorite part of St. Louis that we've lived in has to be the DeMun/Hi-Pointe area, right by Concordia Seminary. Just beautiful, and everything you need within walking distance! LOVE going to the Magic House, the City Museum, the Zoo, Laumeier Sculpture Park...and recently we took our daughter up to the top of the Arch--she loved it! Where are you located, @shannonrnbsn ? @BakerBird525 Zia's is DELICIOUS...and I love provel, too. Not everyone does, though. I think it's part of what makes Imo's so controversial. Do you think you'll ever make your way back to St. Louis?
@parsonsperson@BakerBird525 I love Zia's! They sell their dressing at Dierbergs, SO GOOD! I love love provel, but have learned that it's a mostly Midwest thing. People from outside of here either love it or truly hate it! The Botanical Garden is my absolute favorite place! The Garden Glow at Christmas time is a tradition! I am in O'Fallon, MO, not too far from you. I work in Clayton so these past couple commutes have been interesting!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: I'm joining the sleep issues club here, I never realized it would be difficult to get comfy so early on! My only rant would be the fact that winter decided it wanted to stay around and it's freaking cold out again (it around 30 F here). All of you ladies who live in actually cold climates, I don't know how you do it.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? 90% done with the top of the quilt I'm making. Don't mind my AW-ing it here before I put it away for the weekend since my in-laws are coming and they don't know the baby is a girl. On the left is the pintrest picture I have of how it'll eventually look, the right is what I've got done so far. I totally forgot to account for the white sashing on it when I was cutting out fabric for the diamonds so it'll end up bigger than I anticipated, just over 40 x 60 inches (3.3x5 ft) but I'm actually really liking the size it'll end up being.
GTKY: Stolen from another board; Does your state or town have any weird or unusual traditions? Where I live now doesn't have any that I know of but apparently where I grew up is one of the only places that calls the night before halloween mischief night according to those heat maps of weird local phrases. Not much but hey, it's something.

Oh I can imagine! Would you believe I haven't done the Garden Glow yet?! It's definitely on my list of musts for next year. I have a cousin who used to live in O'Fallon--it seems like a nice place to live! I remember their house and neighborhood was really beautiful.
@parsonsperson: I think we will once we are done having kids and they would be old enough to enjoy it. I took my now hubby there back in 2012 for a vacation and I think he really enjoyed it. It was, however, during a 100 degree+ heat wave though, haha. Gotta love their HOT summers and COLD winters! I moved away when I was 12 so I want our kids to experience everything I got to experience growing up. I started in the city and then moved to Affton County and went to Bayless Elementary.

That's awesome you can buy their dressing! I have yet to find actual provel on the east coast. Sargento at one time made a Provolone/Mozzarella shredded cheese blend but the texture was not the same. The Botanical Garden really is amazing. I remember feeding all the mass amounts of koi. Never went to the Garden Glow, but when we visited in the summer of 2012, we went to the Lantern Festival.
You guys are bringing up some awesome memories of St. Louis! And don't forget their awesome Science Center and Grant's Farm!

I'm sure ol' Spencer wouldn't mind a namesake
That would be kind of hilarious to say he was named after a possum.

@parsonsperson you should go! It can be very very cold, so next year this LO will be with grandma when we go. But they have fire pits set up with smores and hot chocolate for purchase. It's so beautiful!
@BakerBird525 you aren't kidding about the weather! It's 23° today and next weekend is supposed to be 65°. Sigh. I'll have to mail you some provel so you can make an authentic pizza!
I gotta laugh at you ladies saying 23 is cold sorry, but I have to! I know cold is relative, but it's currently 4 and feels awesome!
I don't know how you do it. I limit going outside as much as I can once it gets close to freezing temp outside, you start talking about single digits and schools around here start to have delayed openings so kids aren't waiting outside in the super cold for the bus.

I know. That's what makes me laugh. It was -25 with wind chill last week and nobody even blinks. Schools don't close, some kids still walk to school....
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rlp and sciatica. Yikes bad mix. Really couldn't sleep last night seems like a common symptom now and congested.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Right now just celebrating a good anatomy scan that we had today. Little one was very photogenic and he was literally playing with his foot on his head. After being PGAL and a loss mom We are so very grateful.
Questions? What are you craving ? I want fruits and raw veggies lol. Crazy cravings !!!
GTKY: Stolen from another board; Does your state or town have any weird or unusual traditions? I'm from NY maybe the "ride the train" in underwear, santacon or parades. I don't participate in them anyway but NY is a pretty crazy place to begin with lol.
Rant/rave/symptom: I have two symptoms that could please go away. One is I'm moody and can't even handle myself for the past 3+ days. Two is this little man kicking my bladder causing more bathroom visits today!!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? online shopping for clothes, diaper bag, blankets, bottles ect. Until I can drag H with to do some serious shopping (hopefully this weekend)
@catherinekate I only started feeling them at 21w, but I probably started feeling them around week 20 but they were so random I wasn't sure if it was gas or not As they become more consistent, you'll recognize that you were probably feeling/experiencing them a bit earlier.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: I pee a lot. It's embarrassing on business trips when my peers/boss have to wait on me on all the time
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Finalizing dates for the baby shower
GTKY: I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba (now living in Dallas). Not sure if it's a Canada thing or a prairies thing, but people have "socials" prior to getting married. It's a big party, usually with great raffle prizes, music and dance put together to raise money for the wedding (or other costs I guess)
