I met with a friend lately who was telling me all about Plexus and how she's been taking it throughout her pregnancy (she's 5 months along) and has seen amazing differences between this pregnancy and her first child. Apparently she completely avoided the first trimester exhaustion and has tons of energy, doesn't have the back pain that she said was absolutely awful with her last pregnancy, and is completely "regular" and headache-free. She even told me that she takes the Plexus multivitamins in place of prenatal vitamins because it's apparently better, and her doctors are totally supportive of all of it, too. Everything my friend told me was so fascinating, and the science behind it definitely sounds legit. She even makes enough money to stay at home with her son by selling Plexus, which I'm even considering, too. In the past 7 months, she went from making $100 a month to over $1200 a month, and all she does is post on social media about the results she's seeing in her life and other people's lives since taking Plexus. Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone else has heard of Plexus and considering it and/or has been taking it. I'm personally considering it now, after learning all about what's in the products and how everything is natural and plant-based and Plexus' main focus is gut health. It kind of sounds too good to be true yet it makes all the sense in the world at the same time!
Re: Plexus, anybody?
OP if you're interested in this supplement, I would talk to YOUR doctor about it. They'll be able to best guide you on whether or not it is something you can/should try.
ETA: If you're friend is selling it and making a good chunk of change off of her sales, OF COURSE she is going to sing praises for the product! This is a basic sales/marketing tactic. I know plenty of people who constantly spew high praise about Shakeology (Beachbody's shake) and while I think it's delicious, it's not the miracle elixir most coaches tout it to be. Like I said, take the ingredient list to your doc and see if they have any concerns.
Full disclosure, I'm a Beachbody coach, but I actually don't drink Shakeology as per my doc's recommendation.
It delete this post if no one has experience with it and all I keep getting from people is that I'm trying to advertise it. I just wanted input and thoughts, not accusations.
I don't think your friend's success with the pregnancy is necessarily related to Plexus. Every pregnancy is different, so she just might be lucky this time around.
I would not take Plexus while pregnant without specifically speaking to MY doctor. I wouldn't take anyone else's word for it. (And, TBH, I would never take it while pregnant anyway.)
If you are interested, I would wait until after your pregnancy to take any Plexus product. And even then, I'd check with a doctor if you are planning on nursing.
ETA: It was also commonly discussed on my first BMB, and I was far from alone.
This is my second pregnancy and I am coasting through compared to my first, for no specific reason. I'm not doing anything different, in fact I'm much busier this time. So is does seem to be true in my case that no two pregnancies are alike.
and to the person who mentioned honest co vitamins. I am taking the whole food prenatal and dha supplements and I'm liking them. They have a vanilla or strawberry coating which is so nice. But I am taking 5 pills a day which sucks. I have tried nearly every honest product and love them all, from the household cleaners, to the baby care and diapers, to the personal care items. And if you're a natural products shopper anyway, you can't beat the free shipping on the bundles. I love never having to buy heavy cleaners or bulky diapers at the store- they magically arrive on my doorstep! (No I do not get paid by honest! Only Jessica Alba is raking in the millions here!)
The fact that she had a better pregnancy could be for a number of reasons. Whether or not they're related to plexus ... *shrugs* who knows. I do know that their stuff is SUPER overpriced, and there's no way I would personally pay that much for them.

To me, the bottom line came down to this: there is NO clinical research that supports Plexus' claims. The company actually refuses to undergo evaluation and insists they have all the proof they need.
Plexus is not regulated by the FDA, which means they don't have to prove they're safe or effective to be on the market.
There are plenty of other safe vitamins/supplements out there that cost way less. Always do your research, especially before getting involved with a MLM company (or as most of us refer to them, pyramid scheme).Me: 29, DH: 34
