  Is he sleeping flat and have you asked his ped about reflux? They can have silent reflux.

  Idk much about purple crying, but this sounds like your baby has begun his 2nd leap. If you don't know what I'm talking about, Google "Wonder Weeks" or download the app. The good news is it'll pass, within a couple weeks!

  He is on medication and special formula for his reflux. We have been on this for four weeks. I don't think its reflux but we are seeing a GI specialist...this just started this week

  My baby did the same thing for a while. Then it just stopped all at once suddenly. I keep reading that fussiness peaks around 7 weeks! You'll get through it.

  Purple crying goes on for hours and you cannot soothe the baby during it, it sounds like you could try for a bit deeper sleep before putting your babe back down? Might help? Maybe a wonder week as pp said

  @jenkelly830 second pp recommending waiting for deep sleep. Also swaddling if you don't. White noise. All the things.

  DD did this for a while.  Like PPs said,  wait for deep sleep. Does he sleep in your room? DD was in a crib in her own room and flat out wouldn't sleep without me next to her.
