Tummy time for babies that roll

So, the AW part.  Bridget rolled over on purpose for the first time yesterday!  One day shy of her 3rd month.  Yay!  I'm so proud of my little squish.

Now for the question, how do you do tummy time with a baby who never really liked it in the first place and who can now roll onto her back to get out of it?  She is pushing up onto her elbows during tummy time, but can only push up through one hand at a time.  DD1 was this age about a decade ago and I just can't recall what I did about tummy time at this stage.  Not to mention the recommendations have probably changed anyways.  Anywho, thoughts and advice would be appreciated.  Thanks!
If there's something strange underneath the hood.  Who you gonna call?  Your Doctor.  If there's something weird and it don't look good.  Who you gonna call?  Your Doctor.  Immediately.  If it's new, painful, and possibly pregnancy related get your ass off the internet and call your doctor.  It's for your health and your child's.

Re: Tummy time for babies that roll

  • I use a boppy sometimes-that keeps her from rolling, but she likes her tummy so I'm not sure it'll work?!

  • I second the boppy. Also if he rolls I just roll him back over and try again. Usually the second time it takes him longer to roll over, so he spends more time working his muscles.
