has your LO's blue eyes changed yet?

I know they say it can take a year but curious when most change from blue to brown?

Re: has your LO's blue eyes changed yet?

  • Baby's eyes were dark grey/blue at birth and are now much lighter blue. Don't think he'll get mama's brown eyes!

  • My little guys eyes were dark blue at birth and have lighten up some. I'm hoping he gets my green eyes but may end up with his dad's blue eyes.
  • My LO's eyes never looked blue. They are starting to lighten up some, but they were super dark (looked brown). My husband and I both have green eyes. We are thinking hers will turn green or hazel.
  • Mine went from a dark blue to a brownish hazel. I'm hoping they turn more green like mine.
  • Damien's went from gray to a brown, green hazel. We're hoping he gets my "sunburst" eyes but we're expecting Daddy's very brown eyes to been dominant
  • Regan's eyes were darker when she was born and looked more blue than they do now. They're more of a grey. My husband has hazel eyes and mine are brown. But my MIL, BIL, and BIL's kids all have blue eyes. She might end up with blue/grey eyes. I won't be sad if they turn brown like mom's though ^__^

  • Still blue! DD1's eye had turned brown by this point like my husband, so I'm hoping this LO's eyes stay blue or turn green like mine :)

Wow, we are the same. Both green-eyed and LO with very dark brown. I just hope he keeps the color, it suits him well :)
  • My LO never had blue eyes. His were dark brown from the beginning with a grey tint. Now just completely dark brown like mummy and daddy
  • Dd had bright blue eyes when they were born. By 2 months they were a dark grayish green. Now it looks like they're starting to turn brown.
  • Anyone with older kids whose eyes turned green, when did they turn blue to green?  My baby has bright blue right now at almost 4 months, but I have green and no one in the family has blue.
  • My LO had blue at the beginning and are now getting darker and look more grey. I have dark blue eyes and hubby has lighter grey-blue eyes. I'm hoping that LO will take after his daddy though!!

Since they are bright blue, I would guess that your LO's eyes will stay blue. Blue is recessive, so I am assuming you and your SO both a have a recessive gene. I'll have to ask my parents if they remember what my eyes did (I have green). My dad has brown and my mom has hazel and they got two kiddos with blue eyes. Genetics are weird. My parents also both have dark brown/black hair and my blue eyed siblings are blonde.
  • My girl has the same beautiful blue eyes. Fingers crossed!
  • My LOs eyes look like they are starting to change around the pupil from blue to green. I'm hoping that they continue to change and he gets my green eyes.
  • My little's eyes were grayish-blue when he was born, and now are light blue like his daddy.
  • My LO was born with blue eyes and still have them. He turned 4 months yesterday.
  • Mine was born with dark blue and they've since lightened up a bit. They are starting to look a little hazel around the pupil so I'm interested to see what he gets. I have hazel green and his dad's is brown. But both our fathers have blue eyes so we have the recessive genes.
  • I have green eyes (usually, but they change to blue if I'm wearing blue and sometimes they're gray or hazel too) and my husband has brown eyes and our son has very blue eyes! He's (almost) 4 months old and they're still very bright blue. I hope they stay the color they are because they're so beautiful.
  • DS's eyes just got lighter but are very blue. So is his sisters.
