  • @Sparty18 thanks a lot for the response. Glad to know I'm not missing out on too much if I don't use them. I figure I'm so early in the TTC game, I don't need to use every single trick in the book. If I go months without luck, I may look into it more later but not going to worry for now.
  • Month/cycle: 4/4

    CD: 16

WAYDKGKU: hio eod, pnv, temping/charting, OPKs (although I guess I can't turn a wondfo)

R/R/CS: nothing much today. Probably being irrationally worried about my timing. I think I o'd yesterday so timing would be -2, 0. I like a -1 better. We shall see.

GTKY: gonna ditto @sparty18 with the up north Michigan summers. But I've also gotta say Euchre is the traditional card game around here. It's all we play when we get together with friends or family for gatherings. Is that a Midwest thing or just a Michigan thing? I guess I'm not sure.
  • @peachykeen17 I grew up in Northwest Ohio (close to the Michigan border) and Euchre was huge there!   Now, I live in Southwest Ohio and I've never heard anyone say a thing about Euchre!

@beary67 That's so funny! It's crazy how huge it is here. My friends who move away get so upset when no one has heard of it because they can't play with anyone. It must just be a MI or MI border thing. :)

    Thanks so much @sldp123 @nwegman7878 @cjt121413 @Lecool

@eml2011 I havent although I told her about it last week and se never suggested it. I'm not entirly sure if it would help..enough...I'll speak to her tomorrow though, its too expensive for us to both have it so I'd have to stop mine for him to have it instead. Will see what she says.

@murray1030 this is whats so upsetting, im not ovulating yet & i wont be telling him when i do, but it is effecting him even now :(

@jmr1515 that sounds interesting!! I'll google it now, do you know if it could effect sperm quality in any way?

Edited to add: @jmr1515 I just looked it up and the write ups for it are amazing!!!! Both men and women can take it too. Thank you so much for suggesting it, SO is going to get some tomorrow!!!

  • Oof, I barely have time for a check-in today, but here it goes:

    Month/Cycle: 3/3

    CD: 13

    WAYDTGKU: PNV, EPO, OPK, HIO

R/R/CS: OPKs getting negativer and negativer.  All but snow white this morning.  I've read that people with longer cycles can experience wonkiness with OPKs, so I guess I'm just going to keep testing twice a day until something interesting happens.

In life news, my department head might be just messing with me, but she mentioned something about one of her responsibilities today and then was like, "I might just have you deal with this since this is your job now."  I know that a decision hasn't been made about whether take the position that she's looking at moving into, but she's kind of making it sound like she's officially chosen me to take over her position.  It's between me and another guy who is a good teacher but an unholy disaster of a human.  So they'd better f-ing pick me.

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions?  I'm a Yankee living in the capital of the Confederacy.  Everything in this place feels like a weird tradition.

    CD:  16

    WAYDTGKU:  PNV, BBT, OPK, CP/CM

R/R/CS:  DH left yesterday for a week for a business trip to India. We should have HIO in case of an early O, but we got into a little "tiff" the night before and it wasn't happening.

GTKY:  The day before lent is known more as Paczki day( pronounced Punch-kee). Paczki is a polish jelly filled doughnut, and the tradition comes from the middle ages -when it was a way to use up all the fat, sugar and fruit in the house before lent, when such indulgences are prohibited.
  • @babymish I hope it works for him! I don't think there have been any studies on sperm count just anecdotal claims. DH discussed it with his doc and she didn't have any concerns with him taking it.

@TheRealVeronicaSawyer I'm from western pa and didn't even think of pork and sauerkraut on New Years. Every bar has a pork and sauerkraut buffet at midnight on nye too.

     Month/Cycle: 5/5 (10/11 in all)

     CD: 24

     WAYDTGKU: all the things

R/R/CS: I made it through yesterday, but managed to eat my way through it. I got cross hairs this morning, but it's the third set this cycle. I'm going to wait for at least one more high temp.

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions? We're unique, but I'm never sure what is normal or not. It's all normal to me. It's ash Wed, so I know a lot of people I know from out of town think our Friday fish frys are interesting, but I don't know if they are. I just think they are amazing!

  • @Rottiemom86 FWIW, I know how you're feeling. I temped, it made me anxious so I took two months off, that made me even worse since I had no idea what was going on, so I went back to temping. I can be stressful, but I like know what is going on at the same time.
  • @Kenya715 I had issues with the CB OPK my first month of using them. It went from all negatives to peak in 1 day. No flashing smileys. The peak day was 24-48 hr before my O day (according to FF). I started using them a few days ago for this cycle. I got flashing smiley today. I'd say try to stick with it in combination with temping/charting CM.

@lcsrva I didn't do a good job explaining why I had to take time off from fertility treatments.☺️ Basically we had to take the last two months off because of busy schedules and vacations. It pretty much killed me because I feel like I don't have time to waste. I just turned 35 and we've been TTCing 2+ years. So... I was so excited to go this cycle. Turns out I have a cyst on my left ovary and it's producing too much estradiol. They had to cancel my treatment. We're still going to try naturally, but I don't have too much hope.

R/R/CS: I wish I was in the TWW.  It's much more exciting than WTO.  I feel like I'm just sitting here twiddling my thumbs watching the sun move through the sky.

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions?  We do SacAnime, which is like Comic-Con but for anime.  And yes, I participate and dress up  :D   And it's not weird but we have a Strauss Festival in the Summer where we sit on blankets in the park and drink champagne and listen to an orchestra play Strauss music and watch people dance in pretty outfits  <3

  • @lcsrva@itsmehere1212  thanks for the replies, I might start temping eventually but right now I am going to be ok with knowing a rough window of fertility. Anxiety and helplessness is something I've been struggling with a lot recently and I cant control what my temp does regardless of if I'm tracking or not. So I'm just going to focus on what I can control like trying to HIO EOD and losing some weight.
  • @TheRealVeronicaSawyer @itsmehere1212 I'm in western PA too and I had no idea that the pork and sauerkraut was a regional thing. I just thought everyone did that for New Year's Day, haha.

  • @lcsrva yes, can definitely be very frustrating to have such little control over such a huge life change.  Ttc has been a humbling experience, for sure!

Also, you were the first person to tag me in a post on here...thanks for making me feel cool and popular  ;)
  • @babymish I agree with @lcsrva and maybe you guys can try not to make it about sex and see if that helps the issues. Maybe do other things than sex to let him know that his boys are not all you need from him. My husband explained his anxieties by telling me I do everything right; temping, opks, pnvs, reading and analyzing everything (he didn't say it in those words) and he has one job. And he's not even doing that right. So it's a lot of pressure on him. So maybe a little attention might help him out? Hope you guys can figure out what works. Good luck :)
  • @lcsrva my acupuncturist said that stress has caused liver chi stagnation which can impede blood flow to the uterus and effect implantation. She also told me to stick to warm and red foods. It's all a little wishy-washy for me but hey I've heard a lot of success stories plus it's covered by my benefits!

e=mc21 I always wake up in the middle of the night.  I found 3:30 to be the best time to set an alarm and temp. I rarely stay up past  midnight,  but if I do I still have 3 hrs of sleep plus it gives me enough time to go back to sleep (I get up around 5 am  usually). I recommend you find a time that works for you and set an alarm.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, I think I'll go for 3:30 next cycle. The problem with temping at two is if I DO stay up until midnight, i can picture myself laying awake in bed cursing myself for not going to sleep. 3:30/4 seems like a doable time.

R/R/CS: can't say I'm happy to be back here, having second thoughts about TTC :-/

GTKY: Does your state or town have any weird traditions? We have an annual postie bike race. Can't say there's anything weird that is localised to my state or town, Australia is a pretty weird country so we just have some odd traditions all round.

@peachykeen17 My in-laws are from MI and my husband grew up playing Euchre "out east" in MA where we both grew up. I've tried to learn a few times but it usually just ends up with them reminding all me that I'm not from MI so I don't get it lol. I guess Michigan transplants will have to spread it around the country.
