5 Million Pregnancy Tests/ Pictures at 8wk appt?

Hello fellow October mommas❤️
I am still in disbelief that this is actually happening! I got my BFP on only my second month TTC & I keep taking pregnancy tests to reassure myself that this is real life. Since my initial BFP on Friday, I've taken like 4 more tests. Has anyone else done the same thing? Or am I just a little overboard? I'm just so excited and thrilled to see the word "pregnant" on the test that I keep taking more. My DH saw the price for a 2 pack & he has cut me off haha.

Also, my EDD is October 15th & my 8wk appointment is next month. Does anyone know if I will get pictures at my 8 week appointment? I want to wait to tell our family until we have an ultra sound picture. I feel like an ultra sound picture makes it so much more real. ❤️

Do you know if you will be getting an ultrasound? If so, then yes, they should print you out a picture. I had an early us with my DD at 8 weeks, but not this time. I had my hour long appointment with the nurse at 5 weeks and then just met with my Dr. last Friday at 6 weeks. She doesn't want to see me again until 12 weeks because that's when she can hear the heartbeat in the office. My practice doesn't do us in the office. I need to go to the hospital for that.

Congrats! Also, I side with your husband, those tests are way too expensive to keep taking them. Just relax and try to enjoy this time.

When I first got my bfp I still kept taking a test each day for the next 3 days. Now I have weaned myself off to take 1 once a week to make sure the lines getting darker. You're not alone! But the digital are definitely expensive. Maybe switch to a cheapie if you're going to keep doing it

@Lauren0216 I am going to have a vaginal ultra sound & I will be 8 weeks and 5 days. I'm so happy that we will get pictures!

Congrats and welcome! Haha yes, I retested a few times and might again...someone mentioned that the dollar store sells them. Yes, you get a printout at the ultrasound appointment, and some places might (rarely) provide digital copies. The paper is usually pretty thin so I would get it reprinted on picture paper to preserve it

I only had one test in the house. I generally only kept one or two and bought the expensive digital ones to keep the crazy POAS fever away. That one test was enough for me, but still, 3 weeks after my bfp, it's sitting on the bathroom counter with the word "pregnant" in the window. It's a nice thing to see, and keeps me from needing to "make sure."

@kamroberts My OB doesn't do ultrasounds at the 8 week appt. They just do blood work and get family history. They only reason I have early ultrasounds (I had 3 during my last pregnancy: one at 6 weeks, 7 weeks, and 9 weeks) is because I see an RE who monitors me from the beginning of TTC through 10 weeks of pregnancy.

I peed on all the sticks, so you aren't alone.

You can call your OB up and ask them what the procedure is. My transvaginal ultrasounds at 8 weeks always give me a print out of the screen shots that they take. You need to ask them if that's possible. Not every place does that.

I'm still peeing on things daily. I have a giant stack of Wondfos left (I got a bit overly enthusiastic with Amazon), and one pee stick a day keeps my crazy away until my first appointment, so it's worth it.

I pee'd on 3 today + my first digital just to make sure I hadn't imagined the first 15. Granted, my positive come ultra early *i think* in regards to DPO, the same time as @MRSCORKER, so I think it's just keeping your head from exploding constantly wondering.

I stopped peeing on sticks because it was bugging me out. You're braver than I!

I probably should buy stock in wondfo and clear blue. Peeing on sticks (or dipping rather) is my jam right now.

I'm with you @missteacherlady16! I have two Clearblue weeks estimators left and I'm scared shitless that they won't show the appropriate weeks and I'll be hanging til my appointment next month, so a friend is taking them off my hands for me.

ETA: Oops. Scared shitless, not shirtless.

I used up all of my tests TTC last cycle. I started with like 25 (cheapies) and started testing every day from like 8dpo, multiple times a day. They were off brand wondfos, and I got false positives so I bought a 2 pack of clear blue. (I can't bring myself to pay for a FRER!) I used 1 and it was negative at like 14-15dpo so that month I was out. This most recent cycle, I didn't even test because I didn't want to go through all that again and was convinced I was not getting pregnant this month (Jan), but my period was late so I thought I still have one more good test to use! And sure enough it turned positive immediately! I ran out and bought one more $1 test to make sure, and that's all I've done. 4th pregnancy, third baby though. I kept all the pee sticks from the last, for a couple years!

Ok I know you all didn't need my whole long story, but needed to get that out!

Not if you buy the Wondfo tests off Amazon... 25 for $12! I may or may not have peed on more than half of them making sure they were all positive.

But also, I agree. Relax and enjoy this time before MS kicks in (assuming you get it). Try not to stress and stop taking more tests!

I got my first ever BFP Saturday morning... took 3 more that day to make sure lol! I thought the first test (a wondfo cheapie) was lying because I had to redip, guess I didn't dip long enough for the dye to move so I assumed I broke the thing and didn't trust the faint line. Took a FRER and a Target generic and there was no doubt about it. I collapsed in shock and excitement and cried for about 45 minutes

I took a digital the next day and a few more cheapie just to make sure it's still really real. First appointment is in 2 weeks so it's all so surreal!

I still take tests too but not every dat, just when I need that reassurance. I'm 4w+3, and yesterday took the advanced digital with date and it gave me 2-3 weeks. I freaked out until I read the instruction manual lol. I'll prob buy and take 1 more of those in 2 weeks just for reassurance until my first appt. my doc won't do u/s until 12 weeks boo!

I just went to my first appointment this past monday and I didn't get an ultrasound- they just did blood work and got family history and gave me educational material (I'm 8 weeks based on LMP and 6w3d based on ovulation). I probably wont get an ultrasound until my next appointment in 4 weeks with the doctor- I'll be 12 weeks based on their calculations. I know I was sad to not see the baby...it just wont feel real until I do!

The first night I got my BFP, I was so shocked and thought something was wrong with the box of tests I had. I took 4 more that night. DH kept having to go to Walgreens for me. HA. I've only taken 1 this week. Those CB Weeks Estimators have the potential to drive me crazy, so I am trying to stay away from them!
