So LO has been in her room and technically in her crib for a 3 months now. She does fine being in her room. The problem is i feel like she hates her matress. Its soooo hard. Shes been in the napper portion of the pnp. Its in her crib, so i know its not her room thats bothering her. If i put her on the crib directly shes awake in 10 mins max. I have about 2 more lbs before LO needs to be out of the napper.
Has anyone had anyluck with transitioning to the crib. And is it possible to get a softer mattress. She will sleep just fine flat on our bed. So i know its not the layong flat.
Luckily shes not rolling over yet. So i am still able to swaddle. Im terrified of the day i need to unswaddle and have her out of the napper :/

Re: Transition out of bassinet

  • I've heard of people putting a towel under the fitted crib sheet for exTra cushion or warmth!
  • Loading the player...
  • Maybe it is more about the openness of the crib and less of the softness or firmness of the mattress.  I don't necessarily have an answer for you, but want to discourage making the space too soft as extra bedding can become a SIDS hazard.  (Although a towel under the sheet doesn't seem like it would be too much)
  • I was thinking more along the lines of buying a different crib mattress instead of modifying the one i have.
  • I don't have any advice, but I'm lurking from November board and it's funny because we had the exact opposite problem you do lol my son would never ever sleep in the bassinet. He would for maybe a couple mins and wake up screaming and flinging his arms and legs just pissed. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why he disliked it so much. At the time I couldn't imagine not having him in the room with me and putting him in his crib but to my surprise him and I both slept better with him in his room and not in that bassinet. Maybe it's just an adjustment like pp said about having the extra space around now. Have you tried letting her nap in there during the day or just laying her in there throughout the day while she's awake to get used to it?
  • I moved her into the snuggle nest last jight. Its flatter and more firm but still has the little walls. She did fine with that! So well do that for a week and try just the crib again!
