Week/Baby Size: 32 weeks, size of a popped bag of microwave popcorn, mmm!

Symptoms: Significant RLP, to the point I confused it with a torn muscle. Random days of nausea still. And last night hit with a crazy bout of nesting/energy

Rants/Raves/Stories: So my friend had her twins, same EDD as me. As much as I want this little girl to keep cooking, I'm jealous she has her girls on the outside now!

Upcoming Appointments: 34 weeks on the 22nd

    Questions:

GTKY: (I keep stealing these from TTGP!) You have one week to spend in Europe, where do you go? DH and I reeeeeally want to go to Iceland! We almost tried to do our honeymoon there, but we were married in June which is their busy season so it was really expensive. Someday!

  • Week/Baby Size: 33 weeks!! Size of a junior tennis racquet!

Symptoms: I'm super anemic, so my energy levels are completely zero. Back pain by mid afternoon. And I pee every 27 seconds, which works it well, because so does my 3 year old DD.

Rants/Raves/Stories: I'm excited to be only three weeks from being able to have a homebirth (unless my hemoglobin doesn't come up). Asks, nursery is almost done!!!

Upcoming Appointments: I have my 34 week appointment on Monday, and my DH will be here for it!! He lives in Texas where our business is during the week, so this is exciting!

    Questions:

GTKY: italy! I was born there and haven't been back since I moved away at three. DH will finally be going in our honeymoon, we just got married this summer and decided to defer because of some health issues, and San Pellegrino is on my shirt list of location!

    Week/Baby Size: 32 weeks - winter squash

    Symptoms:
Other than shortness of breath while climbing stairs, I have nothing to complain about, thankfully.

    Rants/Raves/Stories:
I have no stories this week. I am so boring. :D

    Upcoming Appointments:
    OB on Feb 18.

    Questions:
    None this week.

GTKY (I keep stealing these from TTGP!) You have one week in Europe, where do you go?:
Oh, this is NOT a fair question!!! I can think of multiple answers!!! If I'm answering for myself, if I have one week in Europe, I will always go back to Paris. Been 7 times, once a year for the past 7 years, and it is my favorite place on Earth (Husband's too).
If I am advising someone who's never been… That's when it would get difficult. I can think of so many combinations!!!! But I think my top 2 combos to visit within a 1-week time frame would be Rome-Florence/Tuscany or Amsterdam/Brussels/Bruges.
  • Week/Baby Size: 30 weeks, cucumber or Brie en Brioche

Symptoms: flushed cheeks, shortness of breath

Rants/Raves/Stories: Hospital bedrest is not too bad. MTV Europe is turning my brain into mush

    Upcoming appointments: later this afternoon

    Questions: none At the moment

GTKY-One week in Europe, where would you go?: I would love to go to Iceland and see the Northern lights.

  • Week/Baby Size: 29 weeks

    Symptoms: S
ame 'ol: heartburn, insomnia, shortness of breath other than that I feel great

    Rants/Raves/Stories:
Taking my mom and MIL to my 3D sonogram next week. MIL has never seen a sonogram much less a 3D. She's gonna flip! My mom has seen a sonogram but not a 3D. Can't wait.

    Upcoming Appointments:
2/17 for 30 week appt and 3D ultrasound

    Questions:
    Nope

GTKY (I keep stealing these from TTGP!) You have one week in Europe, where do you go?:
This is so hard to answer! We've never been to Europe so I'm not sure if we would want to take a whole week in Spain, Tuscany, Ireland, Germany, etc or try and hit two places during that week. In a few more years when the babies are old enough we are leaving them behind and going
  • Week: 32, size of a squash

symptoms: I have started to tire out much easier he last few days. And my workouts are dragging, I lose my breath really easily

rants/raves/stories: I have found some awesome deals on Amazon review trader! I don't have a big list of things since this is number two but I have successfully crossed over $100 worth of items off my list for under $10!

    upcoming appts: two more weeks

gtky, one week In Europe: that's a good one! I'm lucky enough that I've been able to travel several times to Europe and even studied abroad there in college so I've been to most of the 'biggies'. My all time favorite place I've been is Croatia - seriously, do yourself and favor and just google this country and look at the pictures. It's beyond amazing! Of the places I have yet to go Spain and Portugul are at the top of my list.

  • Week/Baby Size: 31 & pineapple (which I am craving like crazy)

    Symptoms:
LO is transverse and in a weird spot, so I've been having some hip pain as a result, otherwise I feel good

    Rants/Raves/Stories:
at my last appointment the OB told me only 2 of the 4 physicians at my practice are comfortable with TOLAC, but they are both extremely supportive and are committed to coming in under any circumstances for someone who is trying to have a VBAC. I signed all the paperwork to commit to attempting a VBAC and now I'm waiting on the surgical coordinator to call me to set up an RCS as a back up plan. It's getting real now ahhhh.

    Upcoming Appointments:
    I have one next week

    Questions:

GTKY (I keep stealing these from TTGP!) You have one week in Europe, where do you go?:
If only one place, I would go back to Greece. We went for a few days on our honeymoon and I would love to spend more time there. We got to check out Santorini, Mykonos, and Athens but there is so much more I would love to see.
  • @MrsCayEye I lived in Greece for three months! It was a study abroad, but we only had class 2-3 days a week. We lived in apartments within walking distance of the Acropolis, did all our own grocery shopping, transportation, etc, so it really was more living there than just studying there. I visit Aegina (a small island just an hour off the coast by ferry from Athens), the Peloponnese, Thessaloniki, Meteora, Santorini, Olympia, and I'm sure some other places I'm forgetting. I LOVED it. Someday I really hope to take DH there, as he loves government (it is what he teaches!) so the birthplace of democracy is huge for him. Obviously the political situation lately hasn't been great, so that is tabled for now!

  • Week/Baby Size: Week 29-Acorn Squash

Symptoms:  Possibly losing my mucus plug?!?! TMI-but had a big blob once yesterday afternoon and had more this morning when I wiped.  I don't remember losing it with DD, so I could be totally wrong.  Waiting to hear back from OB.

Rants/Raves/Stories:  I am so over wearing pants.  Thank goodness I crossed over to the other side and have accepted leggings into my life.  Maxi dresses and leggings for the next 11 (hopefully) weeks!

    Upcoming Appointments: Next Tuesday

    Questions:

GTKY (I keep stealing these from TTGP!) You have one week in Europe, where do you go?:  I would either go back to Germany (I did a 2-month study abroad the summer between sophomore and junior year in high school) or Greece.  My girlfriends and I keep talking about doing Greece when we all turn 50...hopefully that will happen!

  • @olivemomma Me too!! DH has told me to quit using the site because he is tired of coming, but I've gotten muslin swaddle blankets, a moby-like wrap carrier, cloth diapers, bibs, and toys for DD & DS for little to nothing!! It's awesome!
    image

    imageimage
  • @imrachellea that experience sounds amazing!! I am really jealous that you had so much time there. DH looked into getting an ex-pat assignment in Athens because we loved it so much, but I ended up getting pregnant with DS not long after and we decided to stay in the states instead.
  • @briterfly84 did you get the green and white muslin swaddles? I've been eyeing them! I already have some A&A swaddles from DD so wasn't sure if I would need them or not. I've only got 4 that are gender neutral though so have been going back and forth.

  • Week/Baby Size: 32 weeks! Baby is the size of a squash

Symptoms: aside from this massive head cold, my symptoms haven't been bad.

    Rants/Raves/Stories: We
picked up the car seat and stroller last night! And I proceeded to roll them around the house for a solid hour. So excited to meet this little guy!

Upcoming Appointments: I've moved to every two weeks now.. So next Friday!

    Questions:

GTKY (I keep stealing these from TTGP!) You have one week in Europe, where do you go?:
Italy or Greece! I've never made it to Europe.. We've talked about that being the first big trip we take when the kiddo is older.
  • Week/Baby Size:  32 weeks, size of squash.

Symptoms: none at this point since things have changed.

Rants/Raves/Stories: my water broke Monday, so I've been in the hospital on bed rest since then. I've been on antibiotics, magnesium (terrible but good stuff) and fluids. Got two shots for baby's lungs. Took me off magnesium because my body couldn't tolerate it and my blood pressure was way too low, oxygen was lower. So now we're doing an alternative to the magnesium, but just until 7pm. I only have to be on something for 48 hours. Later today I'll be able to walk around and shower. I'll be here until he decides to come. We don't know when that will be. If I go in to labor they won't stop it now, they've done everything they can to give him the best start.

Upcoming Appointments: none right now, just seeing dr's as they come to my hospital room to discuss plans. I did have an ultrasound Tuesday to double check everything is ok and check fluid (he has almost none left) and he's weighing about 3 1/2-4 lbs.

Questions: none right now, just trying to mentally prepare to give birth in the next week when I thought I had 8. Also trying to prepare for the NICU stay we'll have.

GTKY (I keep stealing these from TTGP!) You have one week in Europe, where do you go?: All over! There are so many places I want to see, but I think Italy is on the top of my list right now.

  • @blonde151188 Oh my gosh!!! All my T&Ps for you that you can keep LO cooking a bit longer! The good news is that at this point he is likely strong enough to do quite well on the outside. My friend that had her twins yesterday was 31 weeks 6 days, they were born at 4.6 and 3.9 after her water broke 12 days ago, where she's been on hospital bedrest. She was also given magnesium for their lung development. Both girls were breathing on their own yesterday as of her last update to me, so here's to hoping your LO does as well as they are! Keep us posted...! You may be the first of the April mamas...

Oh man, glad they're doing well. I have such an irritable uterus I don't know how long labor will hold off once I get up and moving again. They sounded like 32 weeks was a good goal, 34 is even better, but I don't know that we'll make it then, so I'm glad we even made it to today.

  • @MrsCayEye Yay VBAC! I'll be thinking about you! My first words after mine weren't "aww, look at my baby" or anything else related, they were "that was so much better than a csection!!!" I hope everything goes well and you get your VBAC!

  • @blonde151188 keeping you and your LO in my thoughts!
  • Week/Baby Size: 31 - Pineapple - yummy!

Symptoms: heartburn and frequent bathroom trips

Rants/Raves/Stories: Last night DH put headphones on my belly and played some music for baby.  It was so cool to see my stomach move and twitch, I think baby was having a dance party  :D

Upcoming Appointments: Had a regular checkup at my OB's office on Monday, next up is 2/16 for a more thorough US at the hospital

    Questions:

GTKY (I keep stealing these from TTGP!) You have one week in Europe, where do you go?: Oooo this is a tough one.  I would either want to see the Northern Lights in Iceland, go back to Greece (I went with a friend after college, DH has never been), or go to Switzerland

  • @blonde151188 oh my goodness lady! Fingers crossed the LO stays in there for as long as possible, but if not thoughts and prayers for a safe delivery/recovery for both of you!
  • @blonde151188 OMG! Hope this little one is patient and can cook for a few more days at least! We know it's early, but we know that with the help of modern Medicine the outcomes are really, really, really good! I'll be thinking of you and your baby and sending you my best vibes for a smooth sailing and a healthy baby and mom! Hugs! Keeps us updated!

  • Week / Baby Size:  29 weeks / an acorn squash!

Symptoms:  Feeling achy and uncomfortable, plus peeing all the time.

Rants / Raves / Stories:  Tried to take my glucose challenge this week after a prenatal appointment.  The lady at the lab spotted my coffee cup and decreed that because I was drinking coffee (black and decaf) I would have to sit in the office and fast for an hour before she could give me the orange drink, even though my doctor had been clear that no fasting was required for the one hour test.  Will have to try again later and deviously hide the coffee cup.

Upcoming Appointments:  On the two-week schedule now, so week of the 22nd.

Questions:  In keeping with our GTKY this week, I have a travel-related question for the STMs out there.  My SIL is going to be studying in France for the next year.  DH and I would love to go visit her, but we're worried about a long flight with the baby.  How early were your LOs able to travel reasonably well?

GTKY - One Week in Europe:  I love Munich.  DH and I have both been there, but never together, so it would be great to finally get to do that.

That would have angered me. lol Mine was non-fasting. I get it if it was your 3-hr fasting GC but for the first 1-hr non-fasting? ugh

  • @blonde151188 All the love in the world to you and your little one! I'm sure that's shocking to go from having so much time, to having next to none, but I'm confident your baby will be fantastic, healthy, and wonderful!
  • @blonde151188 here's to hoping that baby cooks as long as possible and you both have a smooth ride ahead!
  • @blonde151188 T&Ps that your LO hangs out inside as long as possible. I hope when it's time for labor everything goes smoothly. And I really hope you get to enjoy a shower later & it helps you feel better.
  • @Reddingite810 GO EARLY!!!!! Honestly, babies travel SO MUCH BETTER than toddlers. We took my DD1 on a 17 hour car ride when she was 7 months and she did AWESOME, traveling primarily overnight. We did the exact same drive at a year and again at 1.5 years, both times were hell. She barely slept, woke up every hour crying, hating being stuck in her carseat, it was seriously awful. Honestly, I'd say 3-6 months would be an easy time to travel overseas, especially to a well developed country! If you are breastfeeding, seriously easy-peasy! And if you go before you start solids...THAT MUCH EASIER. I cannot stress enough how much easier it is to transport (most) infants than (most) toddlers! :) Go and have an amazing time!

I would probably wait to make official plans until after you LO is here of course, and you've had some time to get to know their personality.

Munich is probably the happiest, friendliest, cleanest, safest big city I have ever been to. Love it as well! Too bad I don't like beer. :D
  • @imrachellea @redselig @Reddingite810 glad to hear this! I was just talking with DH last night about taking the baby at about 6mo to Thailand (my fave country) and that I wasn't worried b/c I'd be BFing and the baby will be carry-able! I seriously want to do it!!

@blonde151188 thinking of you and baby, all the best for a healthy labor when the time comes.
  • Thanks ladies, sorry I've been mobile and of course the wifi doesn't work here for iPhones for some reason. We're past the initial worrying part thankfully because he's had all his meds he can have, so now we wait. I'm able to get up and walk around to use the restroom, but other than that I'm on continuous monitoring for him. I have no complaints at all about that, he lays on his cord sometimes and since there's no cushion with fluid it's more worrisome so it's nice to know so all I have to do is switch positions. Not sure when he'll come, whether I go into labor on my own, but I do know if I make it to 34 weeks they'll be inducing me then. I'll have been ruptured for over 2 weeks at that point.
