Accomplishments of the day

edited February 2016 in September 2015 Moms
We haven't done these in awhile! I feel the need to scream from the rooftops because
...drumroll....
my LO is napping in his crib!  He's NEVER done this, not even one time. I have his sound machine on loud and I feel like I can run around my apartment and do cartwheels and he won't hear me. This is fantastic

  • That has yet to happen for me. Whoo hoo for your boy, though!! My accomplishment came early - my alarm clock woke me up rather than my baby. Usually he gets me up about an hour before it goes off. He was up at 11:30 pm (put him down about 9), and then not again til I woke him up at 6 am. Score!!!!!

  • @jbettles This was a fluke idea for me to try today too lol he's been having a rough day today because he has a tooth about to pop. I've been trying to get him down for about an hour and a half, we did the swing, walked around, singing, laying on my bed, etc. Well nature was calling and I needed to go to the bathroom so I layed him in the crib and put on his mobile and ran to the bathroom. I put his favorite song on (Roar by Katy Perry lol the only thing that calms him) on repeat and when I came back from the bathroom, I continued to keep turning his mobile a few times and then he's was out. I'm so proud of him! I have so much stuff to do, but instead I'm sitting like a couch potato enjoying my quiet lol
Good for your little boy!!! That must've felt great!
  • Jealous! My LO tends to nap on the couch, so I have to be very quiet. But that's better thanks when he only sleeps on me!

Biggest accomplishment today......I'm out right now waiting to get my eyebrows done. I should've had this done twice since the last time. They're going to need a weed wacker to tame them.
  • Today I made an appointment for a lip wax on Saturday.  Huge accomplishment.  And good job, @abchrist1 .  I'll bet my eyebrows are looking pretty creepy these days too!

Not to hijack the thread but my daughter will be nine on Thursday and I've noticed she's starting to get some upper lip fuzz.  I'm not sure how old she should even be to start taking her for waxing because I only recently started doing it for myself (my facial hair's a little bit blonder than hers is).  We both have light brownish-to dark blondish hair, but for some reason her mustache is starting early and more full-on.

I'm 35 and have had facial hair issues since at least 12. I have dark hair so it's super noticeable. My mom use to bleach my upper lip. Then I discovered waxing, now I do threading (it hurts like hell but cheaper and more detailed). And after I turned 30 i got the chin hair too. Waxing that wasn't an option, threading was way better.
But for a 9 year old, all that might hurt too much. Maybe the hair removal cream or wait and see if puberty changes it. I had bald spots from something, pregnancy made the hair growth back. Hormones do crazy things.

My little sister had this when she was about her age, my mother let her lighten it instead of waxing
  • Biggest accomplishment today was early-only one waking last night! We are *knock wood* finally back in our groove after the leap, travel and colds. She also had 2/3 naps on her bed (twin mattress on floor) instead of being worn. In a few days, if this continues, I'll go back to trying the crib. She's been nursing to sleep and I'm too clumsy to transfer to crib haha

  • I took a 20 minute nap!  It was glorious.
I too have a mustache and I've had it since puberty.  My mom let me lighten it or I would use one of those depilatory (?) creams.  I hated it and still do but now I wax.  Planning for laser hair removal this year.
  • I cleaned the out entire upstairs, remembered to eat lunch, took a shower andmade a cake (it looks terrible, but tastes good!) It was a very satisfying day! :)
  • Not my accomplishment but DH got a job offer today - I will no longer be a married but seemingly single parent!!!!! This is so huge.

Oh, and I managed to get the kids to school on time this morning for choir and intramurals. Before 8am. With the baby. They even had lunches, combed hair, and weather appropriate clothes!
  • Not my accomplishment but LOs. She finally pushed herself up with her arms!  It's not huge but makes me happy :) she could lift her head and get her butt in the air but kept her hands in her mouth. She thinks I'm crazy for taking pictures haha.
  • I had a massively accomplished day for once. LO slept more than usual after a crazy busy weekend and DS had major listening ears on today (unusual for my 3yo). I was able to do the laundry and ironing, vacuum the house, work out, take the kids for a walk, cook a hot dinner and bathe both kids before DH got home. I never have days like this and I told DH not to get used to it... Lol
  • My LO is currently waking anywhere from 20 min to one or two hours all night long, I got up last night no less than 12 times. Each time I have to nurse her, it's the ONLY thing that would calm her back to go to sleep but tonight, a paci and her shusher machine got her to fall back asleep TWICE! Lol she's only been in bed 90 min and already woke twice, this is gonna be another awful night, BUT, that's two less nursing sessions right there and at least we are heading in the right direction.
  • My LO is now rolling both directions and trying to turn the pages when I read him books :)

My accomplishment is getting schoolwork done while he was asleep lol and remembering to wheat lunch and drink enough water.

Being a mom is exhausting. Hoping he will nap more in the crib today. Just trying to consistently put him down in it after nursing to sleep.
  • His nap only lasted a half hour, but it was a fantastic half hour!
  • Well, my accomplishment was a FAIL because the waxing salon was running behind and I ended up cancelling my appt, not wanting to wait.  Still haven't made a decision on DD's mustache, either.

    How was everyone else's follow-through?
