This board is too mellow for me today. So let's talk about Beyoncé's preformance at the Super Bowl.

I have to preface this by saying I'm not a fan, and I'm not a hater.

But...I feel like anything Beyoncé does is thought to be the best, just because she's Beyoncé. That annoys me!

Her performance wasn't the greatest I've seen...maybe if she came out with one of her better songs, it would have been okay by me, but I just don't like her new single.

Might just be me...

Is her new single the one that mentions Red Lobster Because yeah that totally sucks. Didn`t see her superbowl performance though.
I did see Lady Gaga and was impressed with her voice

I'm a fan, but I wasn't overly impressed with the performance at the SuperBowl. Maybe I was expecting more, I dunno. Just felt like it kind of fell flat.

I'm guilty of seeing the halftime lineup, thinking 'Ew, Coldplay?' and switching back to the rerun of the puppybowl.

Beyonce did make sales at Red Lobster go up 30% though which is pretty cool lol

Thought the dancing was neat to watch, couldn't really hear the lyrics/her singing, not educated enough on the particulars to comment on the politcal/racial aspect.

Well... I dislike Beyoncé AND Coldplay and we spent Sunday working on house/yard remodel stuff. We don't even have TV service, just Netflix. We don't give a shit about football.

Same - no cable here, just Netflix. And we only care about football if it's the Saints.

I love cold play and love Beyoncé. I was not into the half time show though. FFFC: I am a conservative Christian and republican. So not my cup of tea. I thought they performed well, just didn't like the message. If that makes sense? Also not that educated on Black Panther. Had to google it later on.

We don't have cable either but we bought a HD antenna for $30 and get all the national networks for free (great investment).

I thought the the line up was weird. I like the three performers but Coldplay with bey and Bruno was just odd. Loved all those colors around the stage.

I do think beyonce caught herself really well in regards to almost falling, though.

I wish! Just national networks, thankfully for H CBS comes in really clear along with the CW and NBC, ABC is staticky and FOX is a hit or miss. We also get really random other channels on the local network.

YES! That article is amazing. Formation, the song and the video, is an incredibly powerful statement by a black artist about black life in this country.

The Super Bowl halftime show was horrible mostly thanks to Coldplay, but I was AMAZED that she sang part of Formation. That's sends a big message, and I appreciate that she used her platform to make an important social statement.

Loved it and that she's making more socially conscious music now! If you actually listen to some of the song lyrics it sends a powerful message about Black culture and what it's like to be Black in this country. Also, I was quite impressed with her recovering from that stumble lol. Can't wait to see her in concert again this Summer. I also appreciated the article @elldel

now Coldplay, I could have done without. Total snooze-fest for a halftime show.

I was watching it pretty closely and didn't see her stumble. Must've thought it was some type of dance move!

The show wasn't my taste in music but I liked the "show" aspect more than the music.
