Helmet?

Is there any other babies out there getting a helmet?

I was told yesterday that my little guy will need to wear one for 8-10 weeks. We're just waiting to find out the cost. I was told the max would be 2500.00 if insurance doesn't cover it.

Hi there! We are scheduled to be measured and scanned in a couple weeks, and then she'll have to wear it for about 2 months. We were told it would cost about $2000 as well if insurance doesn't cover it so we'll see.

We were a little upset initially but she won't really be affected by it and it's going to help her, so the sooner we get it done, the better. Plus, I bet those two months will run by in no time :)

Have you gotten the measurements and scans done for your baby to get the helmet?

My daughter is on her 5th week with the helmet. She doesn't even notice it. She has 3 more weeks to go. I saw an improvement in her very first week. She was a breech baby so she was born with a long and narrow head. Now its round and full.

Awww she's previous! By chance is that a docband helmet? That's the brand my little guy will be getting. I saw on their website ideas for decoration... Where did you get the decals?

My son favors laying to his right. No matter what I do he will be persistent and lean to the right when he sleeps... Unfortunately his head is flat. The helmet will reshape his head.

I'm expecting to be told my little guy will need a helmet at his appt in 2 weeks.  His head is flat and he too only prefers to lay to his right. The Dr said it was likely at his 4 month check up. We shall see.......

I don't think we will need a helmet because as far as I can tell, her head isn't flat, but I thought I would come in here and ask...

Just in the last week or ten days I've noticed she cocks her head to one side all the time. It wasn't like this before, as I've scanned through photos.  But I shot her six month photos on Thursday and all of them are tilted. I am wondering if there are some excercises or stretches I can do for it, or perhaps a chiro? How long have your LO's had a head tilt? Seems like she would have had it earlier than this if it was torticollus?  Does it literally just show up one day? Sorry for all the questions.  She has her six month in a couple weeks so I will bring it up then. But I figured in the meantime I remember reading this thread. It happens to correlate with the fact that in the last ten days my left nipple has been irritated and I'm wondering if she is having trouble on that angle.

My little guys head is flat on the back but all the professionals tell me it should round out by the time he is 1. I can get a helmet for him if I choose...no medical professionals seem to recommend them for mild cases where I live but you can privately see an orthotics specialist to have one made. I don't think we will end up doing it but I am gonna be kicking myself if his head is still flat when he is 1. I can't keep him off the back of his head.

My little guy got his last week! Definitely more fussy when going to sleep but I think he is finally getting used to it. Definitely taking baths a lot more frequently, he has a smelly head from wearing it!
