Identical twin girls

Girl names are just too hard because they are so cute. Thoughts on:

Evelynn Louise and Ivy Jean?

hubby hates Ivy!

  • I think that Evelyn and Ivy are great together.
  • I think Evelyn and Ivy are too matchy for twins, especially if they are Evie and Ivy as mentioned above.
  • I agree with some previous posts that they could sound a bit similar. I like Isla from the suggestion above.
  • Thanks ladies. I should also say that I have a little guy named Owen so maybe Owen, Evelynn, and Ivy would be a bit much.
  • Oh--I really like both but agree that Evie/Ivy might be too close. Maybe Elise and Ivy (if you can sell hubby on Ivy?). Or Evelyn and Lily? Evelyn and Stella?

    Many congrats!

    This. Way too confusing.
  • I'm so over Evelyn.  I love PP's suggestion of Amelia Louise and Isla Jean.  similar but not matchy.
  • FWIW, I would drop that extra n on Evelyn.  It's cumbersome.
  • Love Ivy. Love Iris even more. Evelyn is nice, but only if nn is Ev with Ivy. Eloise or Eleanor nn Ellie? Lorelei nn Rory? Amelia/Emelia also nice.
  • I'm assuming what you like about "Ivy" is that it starts with vowel sound. So here's my suggestions:

    Evelyn and....

    Ina
    Aina
    Anna
    Emily
    Emma
    Elin
    Ellen
Avery (thought this is also possibly a little too similar)
    Adaline

I also really liked Isla and Amelia as others have suggested! And I agree - drop the extra unnecessary n from Evelyn

  • Going with above poster with vowel sounds:

    Adelaide
    Adah
    Adriel
    Annie
    Emmeline
    Elise
    Eliza (Ee-ly-zah)
    Aliza (A-Lee-zah)
    Alice
    Eden
    Isabelle
    Eloise
    Emerson
    Annalise
  • Agreed with above. Keep Evelyn, Drop Ivy. I also think it would be nice if they had the same amount of syllables or atleast ability to make nick names. Evelyn can be Evie, Eve, Lyn. Ivy is pretty much Ivy. So it would be cute if the second baby also could have some nn options.
  • I love Evelyn too! I am actually considering it for my baby girl doing Eva for short.

  • No if you are going to do nn Evie for Evelyn- that would too much IMO...Evie and Ivy
  • Does it matter?  Your husband hates Ivy, so that's off the table regardless.

I like the suggestions of Iris and Isla.

    Love these suggestions.

Also, for me, Evelyn Louise is a beautiful classy name. But Ivy Jean seems like a stage name. Isla Jean is lovely.
