Baby acne or what? Picture included

My baby girl has these bumps on her face neck and chest. Took her to the Dr a few weeks ago for a cold and asked Dr about them and he said ah just baby acne. But it's gotten a lot worse but doesn't seem to bother her. Should I leave it alone or is there something I should put on it.

  •  I haven't talked to the pediatrician yet but from what I've read so far this is completely normal.  Some websites just say to wash their face about twice a day to help clear it up.  I've also seen recommendation of using coconut oil but I haven't done that.

My daughters is better than it was a few days ago which is when we started cleaning her face once in the morning and once at night.

  • Yep! With both my kids it was the worst around 5-6 weeks. I notice it gets worse if DS is laying on my arm and gets too hot.

Like PP said, wiping baby's face 2x a day is supposed to help. I have also been told (and found) that using Cetaphyl lotion clears it right up!
  • Girls always get it way worse than boys too! I remember my daughter had a terrible case and my boys it's just been a spot here and there
  • It can be normal but if it doesn't go away it might be a sign of a food allergy/intolerance.
  • My son had had it since about 3-4 weeks. It's clearing up a bit.
I wash his face regurally and DO NOT put lotion on their face (LO has dry skin on his face) SO put lotion on his face and it made the acne worse.
  • Thanks everyone!!
  • My son has baby acne that showed up about 10 days ago. I've been putting coconut oil on it twice a day after gently cleansing and it's gotten so much better! However, a friend of mine treated the same way and it didn't clear up. Each baby is different. Hopefully you can find something that works.

  • My baby's is so close to her eye :( any suggestions or just leave that area alone? And what are you guys washing their little faces with?
  • I remember my daughter's showed up right away after birth, my son now has it as of week 2. Pedi told me it's normal and to leave it alone. Anyone know how long it lasts? I can't remember.....
