Sleep easy solution....

Has anyone ever tried this? LO is 4 months and still going to bed at 10pm .the last few days she has refused to nap and has been a beast because shes so over tired. Id like to start getting her to sleep earlier. A friend of mine swears by this method as its somewhere inbetween cio and not cio.
Im also attempting to wean off the swaddle tonight before i start sleep training.
Any suggestions?  Thanks so much!

I asked for suggestions if you dont have any dont answer. Simple.
  • We absolutely could not go without this turtle.  Baby stares at the waves until he falls asleep.  He started falling asleep on his own at week three.

  • We did the sleep easy solution with my daughter around 9 months. It was very hard on us because she wouldcry so hard. Us going in the room to check in and soothe only made it worse. The doctor said if we were comfortable with it, we could let her cry a few minutes longer than recommended. Not sure if that's really the best this early on. We had to time it for when she wasn't teething or in a wonder week. But by the third or fourth day she was falling asleep on her own. I recommend getting the book and tweaking it to what you are comfortable with. Id you want to try to get her to sleep earlier, I would just push up bedtime by 15 minutes every couple of days. Good luck. And sorry for the novel.

I have a wave machine but ive found it actually keeps lo awake. She watches it and watches it and wont fall asleep. It was definately a lifesave when we were going through the witching hour!!
  • I use the tranquil turtle too- my LO loves it!
  • At about 13 weeks, we started putting her to bed earlier each week. She was going to bed at 11PM because of her feeding schedule. But I wanted to get her down earlier before going back to work a few weeks ago. One thing that's imperative is to reduce stimulation. Sometimes, babies can be overly stimulated by light, noise, etc that they feel they're going to miss something. So, we started turning lights off around 7PM and putting her in her swing for about 30 minutes. Then, we would change and feed her, followed by swaddling. I gave her a pacifier after placing her in her crib and talk to her in a low tone so she would feel comfortable. We swaddle from time to time when she's overly tired but most nights we try to go without it.

Last night, I left one of her arms out of the sleep sack swaddle so that she could start getting used to sleeping in her crib without the swaddle. A few times, when we have swaddled her, we left her arms out and she did fine. But when she's completely out of it she wakes herself up sometimes by hitting herself. LOL. Or she'll stick her appendages through the crib bars and wake up when she realizes what's happening. I've learned to do what works best for us and our baby. What works for some doesn't work for others. Happy training!
