Nipple flow help...

in November 2015 Moms
I am wondering if anyone knows of the slowest possibe nipple you can buy?! Lol. We've tried Medela and Avent natural. He does okay with Avent, but sometimes it makes him choke like it's too fast and he will freak out and refuse to eat. Anyways, just wondering if anyone else has this issue and if you've found a good, slow flow?

    I've found that the Medela Calma nipple worked really well for my LO, it seems to mimic breastfeeding so my LO had to work a bit harder and create suction in order for the milk to come out.

    Try a premie nipple. We use advent size 0 and doc brown premie.

    Thanks! I have a Calma nipple, but LO gagged because it's so long. Might give it another go!!

    Also, sometimes if u heat or shake the bottle air or pressure gets trapped inside and pushes the milk out faster. Try opening it for a second to release that pressure. That's what we do when we see LO is struggling to keep up. We also use Avent 0.

    This actually happened last night and reminded me of ur post. My LO was refusing to eat from DH. I took the bottle and pressed on the seal where the nipple meets the lid to release air. It decreased the pressure and slowed the flow. He tried to feed her again and she took it right away. He was like "wow you're amazing!" Lol And told LO "sry for daddy's lack of experience" Hahaha sometimes it's the smallest things. :)

    Avent Natural has a 0 and Dr. Browns has a 0/premie. 

    BRU by us had both. We used the Avent 0 for almost 2 months before he was ready for a 1.

    Yeah I use the Avent 0 but it's still a little fast. LO doesn't take Dr. Browns. Go figure.

    I have all the different kinds of bottles.  They're so expensive is not even . I got avent she likes them then I got Dr browns to help her reflux.  Then I got medela to try and get her back on the breast.  Didn't work.  I could open up a shop. She will only use avent.

    We use Avent naturals 0 and premie Dr. Brown's. We made the switch after our LO was choking on the standard nipples.

    We use the Playtex bottles and their slow flow nipples are pretty good.
