Spotting anyone?

I scrolled through a couple of pages to see if this has been discussed or not yet. If it has and I missed it, I apologize.

Has anyone had spotting that's lasted a few days? With my first pregnancy I think I spotted for one day and that was it. This one has been on and off for several days now and it has me on edge. I had my first beta today (will get results tomorrow) and have the second beta scheduled for Wednesday. The nurse said spotting isn't necessarily normal, but it's really common.

I'm getting anything from a spot of bright red to light pink on the toilet paper. No pain, and I can't really say much for discharge since I'm on progesterone suppositories so everything is a little messy. We had a FET on January 29. We transferred two embryos and I'm wondering if maybe one didn't make it?

I know that I won't get any definitive answers until Wednesday's beta but just wanted to see if any other second, third, etc. time moms have had experience with this. Thanks for your input!

Re: Spotting anyone?

  • I don't have any experience with spotting in previous pregnancies. I am sorry you are going through this though and I didn't want to pass through without reaching out to you during this time. It can be scary! Please update us on Wednesday.

  • I have had spotting since my period was due. So for about a week in a half. I had a ultra sound and my doctor saw a bit of blood in my uterus and said its from the baby implanting and that's why I've experienced the spitting. It's quite annoying and it makes me worry..
  • The betas will be the only thing at this point to give you a definitive answer on what's going on. Luckily, it's a quick turnaround for results and if you have a good relationship with your doctor, ask if they can write for 'stat' results on the second draw so you get them back within an hour (mine did that for me once when I was spitting). Just relax, and do your best to find something to take your mind off of it. Easier said than done, I know, but hoping for good results!

  • Thank you - and the second beta is being done through the RE's office so will have it back the same day.

  • I have been spotting for one day, off the next three.  It's been doing this for the past 3 weeks.  I'm taking PIO (progesterone in oil) so I know it is not because of low progersterone.  I hate spotting.. I called my RE's office yesterday and the doctor called back saying just to take it easy but it sounded perfectly normal.  My betas have been great and have my ultrasound later this week.  Call your RE if you haven't already and hope the spotting settles down for you!
  • I don't currently tly have any kids so I can't offer an answer to your question but I do know how scary that is and I wanted to say I'm sorry for what you're going through. Keep us updated when you know and good luck!

  • I bled and spotted throughout the first tri of my two viable pregnancies and I'm doing the same this time.  As mentioned before - your hcg count is all that matters until they can see something on an early ultrasound (usually around 5 or 6 weeks)

sorry youre experiencing this.  It sucks. After having this symptom for 11w with one baby and 13w with the other and having two miscarriages along the way, I've decided to be happy just to be pregnant while I know I am.  Perception is helping me a bunch to stay grounded and decrease stress.

Good luck!  Keep us updated on your sono.

  • I've been spotting off and on for a few days, very scary but beta tests look good so far. Not easy but all we can do is be hopeful at this point! Happy thoughts for you!

I had some spotting (mostly light pink) for the last 3-4 days .  I finally called my doctor's office yesterday.  The nurse said it could be implantation bleeding, especially if it started after sex.  She also said no heavy lifting or sex until it stops.  As of this morning no spotting.  I'm hoping it stays that way.  It certainly makes me nervous.

I hope yours stops soon and everything goes well.

  • I'm having a little too, off and on, and it's scary. I called the doctor and they said I shouldn't be worried based on my descriptions. So, I'm trying to have peace with it and know that everything is okay!
  • Not this time, but with my son I had a fair amount of bright red bleeding during first tri.

  • I had bright pink spotting this past weekend after sex. Scared the crap out of me but said it was normal. It only lasted an hour and was very little.
  • I had some spotting yesterday, which has since gone away. Had my levels checked yesterday and will go again tomorrow and Friday, so I feel ya! It's scary, but just try to stay positive. Sending hugs and positive vibes your way!!!! <3

  • Thank you so much, ladies. The bleeding finally stopped the other night. Monday's beta was 367 and yesterday's was 810, so it looks like I'm here to stay! We have our first u/s in two weeks and we'll find out if there's one or two in there :)
