What's new with baby? Baby is pretty much just putting on fat at this point.
Appointments? Next Monday, this will start the weekly checkups
Any new preparations for baby? Had my second shower & managed to get my thank you cards done and mailed! I have also managed to get most of the gifts put away and just have one more small load of baby laundry to do to finish getting everything in its place. By this weekend DH and I will have ordered and purchased the last items that we think we need before LO arrives.
Symptoms/Rants/Raves/Cravings: Vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce have become my almost nightly indulgence. I have always loved ice cream but DH and I have gone through too many ice cream containers the last few weeks... oh well, at least it has been a recent craving.
Questions? I feel like I am reading/hearing different times to start the pumping process. So is there a general time frame of when to begin pumping to get DH involved in the feeding process?
GTKY: Since third trimester pains are probably hitting everyone now, lets vent out our symptoms! So I don't want to complain too much because I know I have had a really easy pregnancy but I swear as soon as I hit 34-35 weeks everything changed. I am having BH daily now (DH and I even went to L&D for this), my hips hurt, my feet swell every night, I am getting a little tired of being a punching bag (I always feel reassured that baby's moving but it seems so much more dramatic and forceful now that it makes me miss the small flutters of 2nd-tri), and I just generally feel like a whale. Everyone else loving 3rd-tri as much as me?

What's new with baby? Lots of moving around. Keeping his eyes open while he's awake.
Appointments? Had one today, everything looks great. Back in two weeks then to weekly appts for the homestretch. Down to the wire! Yikes!
Any new preparations for baby? We sign the lease for our new place tomorrow, then move next Thursday. My mom thinks she is going to make it up for a few days to help us get moved in, then she will go to my sister's wedding in Mexico and then come back and hopefully be here for the delivery. We haven't spent that much time together for probably 5 years so we will see how it goes. Also had Baby shower #1 yesterday. Got some stuff. Sounds spoiled but hoping to get a few more things at the next one. We have the basics but I'm still a little bit of a nervous wreck afraid that we won't have everything we need, since we knew we would be moving we've been holding off buying anything ourselves. UGH.
Symptoms/Rants/Raves/Cravings: Heartburn in the middle of the night waking me up. Swelling in my ankles. Doc says everything looks good with blood pressure though. And apparently my aunts and mom swelled up the same way! Funny!
Questions? SO is really worried about the swelling even though everyone (Mom, his Mom, Nurse, Doctor, ect.) have told him it is normal. Anyone have any advice on what to say to calm him down?
Also BTDT moms any advice on calming my own anxiety about having everything we need?

GTKY: Since third trimester pains are probably hitting everyone now, lets vent out our symptoms! I'm so over the SPD/PGP!! My hips hurt in the back at both sides as do the pubic pone in front! I've started to see a physiotherapist and was getting better, but yesterday I had to run after DS in the grocery store so now I'm back to feeling miserable and crippled like an old lady!

What's new with baby? Just growing, growing, growing. Maybe a little too much, last appt they told me he is measuring a little big.
Appointments? Had one Monday, none until 2/16
Any new preparations for baby? Going to buy the travel this system and look at pumps. We just completed the birthing class, enrolled for the newborn care class (not for a couple of weeks) and have the Hospital tour this weekend!
Symptoms/Rants/Raves/Cravings: Heartburn has subsided a little bit (fingers crossed), frequent urination has been a pain and I feel like no matter how much stretching I do, my legs are restless ALL the time.
Questions? Suggestions on double electric pumps? I'm contacting my insurance company this week because from what I've read, they'll cover part if not all of a pump but wanting some advice from moms who have used them before! I was looking at Ameda Purly Yours but am open to suggestions.

I don't feel like third tri has been TOO horrible on me, morning sickness from the first was by far the worse. But I will mention again how annoying my restless leg syndrome is right now. I've tried all sorts of stretching and it helps but doesn't completely get rid of it. Also, I'm really not digging the waddle I have going on lol, only 7ish more weeks though and then we get to meet our little man which makes it all so worth it

Any new preparations for baby? DH has the floor and countertops in the house, but still wants to do more things before we move in. DS and I washed some of his old toys for DD.
Symptoms/Rants/Raves/Cravings: Nesting is really here (sorry MIL). Yesterday I organized her Tupperware drawer and one of the pantry cabinets (well, the part I could reach). The rest of the kitchen is calling my name.

It takes way too long to get out of bed, especially when I really have to pee. Somehow I always find my way to the ground, but then again I always forget how I did it.

Any new preparations for baby? Continuing to work on the nursery and wash all of the items that we got at our showers. My husband is builing the crib this weekend, so that will be done...which is nice. we're almost there!
Symptoms/Rants/Raves/Cravings: Exhausted, pelvic girdle pain, aching back, swollen feet and ankles, never hungry anymore (no more room), always thirsty, constantly congested...the list goes on and on and on...

I did a side by side comparison of my belly just before I delivered my first and now with this one...they're the same size. No wonder I'm miserable.

What's new with baby? She is doing very good. Her heartbeat today was 130.
Appointments: Two non-stress test a week. I had one today. I am scheduled for my next two on 2/8 and 2/11.
Any new preparations for baby: Just had my baby shower with family and friends. Receive some diapers, wipes, and clothes.
Symptoms/Rants/Caves: I have been craving for some diary queen ice cream. I haven't been able to indulge in my cravings because of this gestational diabetes.

I am just so ready for baby girl to be here. I want to be able to eat what I want and when I want. Also, I want to be able to not have to check my sugar level 4 times a day.

What's new with baby? Baby is definitely out of room in utero. My stomach is so tight it isn't funny.
Appointments? I just had an emergency appointment yesterday due to high blood pressure that supposedly is fine. Even though my bp at the appointment was 161/90 vs. the 140/80 in Maternity
Any new preparations for baby? I bought the last of the stuff I need for baby. Just waiting for baby to get here!
Symptoms/Rants/Raves/Cravings: I'm having high bp issues, and my cankles and hands are starting to swell. I get dizzy and light-headed, cold/clammy skin, and cry a LOT. I'm so sick of this pain. I can't lift my legs because of the pelvic pain (its not even discomfort- its PAIN), but I keep getting told I'm fine, that its because I have not been this far along before and everything is new to me. I know what high blood pressure is, whether I'm pregnant or not. I'm still not sleeping. Doctor told me to take Benadryl. That didn't work either. The best thing I do for myself is get right off my feet when I get home.

Symptoms/Rants/Raves/Cravings: heartburn is awful! Craving salty and sweet foods! Today, all I can think about is McDonalds fish filet sandwich.

What's new with baby? He's showing some real personality sometimes... He'll jump at noises (he wasn't much for reacting to sounds until recently), he's got his favorite side of me to lay on (left, with his little feet in my right), and sometimes after a dance party he sleeps it off for a while. I'm getting just an inkling of what he'll be like after he's born.
Also, at 35 weeks, my hospital won't do anything to stop an early delivery. If he starts coming... he'll come. That's a bit of a scary thought to me. I'm not ready!
Appointments? I have one every other week. Next week then!
Any new preparations for baby? We're accumulating more stuff--now we just need to put it all together!
Symptoms/Rants/Raves/Cravings: I'm getting more emotional now, and every so often I feel nauseous. It's a little like first trimester again.
GTKY: Since third trimester pains are probably hitting everyone now, lets vent out our symptoms! For me, it's been hard to see my abilities shrink. I used to be able to go on steep hikes... not anymore. I could walk for hours shopping or at a museum! Not anymore. Walking around my neighborhood was a normal form of exercise for me, but last time I did it I felt like death for the rest of the evening. Strength and power is being sapped away from me--I can't even sit up in a chair for a while without my back killing me. Apparently this is all normal, but man is it sad to feel progressively weaker. I'm like an invalid.

What's new with baby? This kid is getting up in my ribs and it hurts. I don't remember this with my first. I can definitely tell he is a lot more active the last week as well
Appointments? Had one this morning to monitor growth, BPP, and NST. The most exciting thing is to know that he's at 46% per US and is no longer considered at risk for IUGR. Yay, I can dream about my waterbirth yet again. We will have another US at 38 weeks to ensure everything is good to go.
Any new preparations for baby? Hired a doula and got a newborn photographer. We will be moving the dresser out of DS1's room into the nursery and replacing it with a table and chair set so DS1 doesn't feel like he is losing something. We'll also be installing the car seat base, which will require moving DS1's car seat to the outbound side.
Symptoms/Rants/Raves/Cravings: heartburn and now upper back pain for some reason after sitting for too long. I also had a really scary episode where I got the shakes like crazy one night (of course it was the ONE night DH was gone). I went to the bathroom and before I made it to the toilet, my body got soooo cold and I was so nauseous. I could not control the shaking enough to even pee properly. I barely made it into bed without throwing up and it took me a good 20+ minutes to get decently warm again. I was covered with my head under covers with a heater next to me and with a heating blanket on. It was not cold in the room at all. But the kiddo was moving fine, so once I felt ok I fell asleep. I figured it was a combination of low blood sugar and low blood pressure (which the peeing would make even worse, I guess). My doctor has never heard of this, but did not appear concerned. But I've seen others report the same thing online.

Honestly, I'm upset that I had to stop running 3 weeks ago because they thought I may have an IUGR baby. They did not tell me to stop, but to limit it. I stopped to ensure I could eat enough to put weight on. Eating is hard work right now. I get heartburn after drinking a glass of water in the morning after sleeping all night, so yeah....I'm hoping I can get back into shape soon after he is born and with a faster recovery than last time. I had a 2nd degree episiotomy, so I am really hoping to avoid any and all interventions this time around. Also, my bra is not fastened right now, and I just don't care

What's new with baby? She is apparently a big girl according to the growth scan she was 4lbs 13oz which is pretty hefty. Good thing I have wide hips

Any new preparations for baby? Trying to do baby's laundry, I keep trying to tell myself that I wont have this much laundry at once and that it is only temporary.
