Not stopping. I did decrease tho. I used to do it daily with my pump parts. Now I just do my pump parts and then every 3 or 4 days I sterilize his bottles. He uses the munchkin latch bottles and they have a lot of crevices to get stuff stuck in so I feel better knowing they are super clean. I know a lot of people who don't sterilize at all and their kiddos are perfect. I'm just a paranoid FTM.
Lol I was the same with my first born @dmbfan46835 thinking I might cut down now I do it every bottle think I need to cut down lol that's just too much
Our ped told us to sterilize them initially and then they should be fine, so that's what we've done. But we wash everything in our dishwasher and it has a sani-rinse cycle that we use.
I only steriltize in boiling water before first use. I think in the beginning I might have done it every few weeks but it was unnecessary and didn't last long. I wash my pump parts and bottles in the dishwasher all the time and I think that counts as sterilization because of the temp. Either way, I don't go out of my way. Baby touches the floor, the dog, me after work, and then puts her hands in her mouth.. so I'm betting her bottles are probably the cleanest things she puts in her mouth even without sterilization.
Think I may stop then. I'm thinking if I keep doing it it's not really helping build an immune system. Thanks. With my other kids I did it till they were 1
Yeah totally agree there @Growingapepper my little one is forever eating her brothers fingers, no matter how many times I say not to let her lol and they are not clean he's a typical 3 year old boy lol
I do it before each use and just wash the bottles with hot soap and water. I do boil them if they start to smell like formula so every couple weeks. I feel like sanitizing too often would ruin the bottles.
I always do too @rosalbap2 just thought that's what you did, always done with all my kids and always had it in the back of my head that i didn't see how it could be helping babies build immune systems
