Rant/Rave/Symptoms: nothing new to report! My chest is out of control big... But I suppose I'm getting used to it!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Ordered some boy bedding from Pottery barn today... Also decided on a glider/recliner (I was nervous about the expensive cost but my mom told me to pick it out & she's going to take care of it for me!) yay!
Questions?
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? I'm in a book club that I love but have slacked lately about keeping up reading (even though I still attend our meetings to catch up with the group). This months book is "Swans of Fifth Avenue" by Melanie Benjamin, I'm really going to try & read it this time!!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: RLP, some heartburn, generally feeling great! After a rough first 17 weeks I can finally say I enjoy being pregnant!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Nursery construction has begun! I also got the bedding, ordered the crib and the glider last week. It's starting to feel really real!
Questions? How involved is everyone else's husband when it comes to the baby "stuff"? My husband is great when it comes to redoing the nursery, reading books about parenting, etc. But when it comes to registering he has 0 interest. He's busy with working towards a new job too, so I have let him off the hook. I know he'll be a great dad, so I'm not worried- just wondering if anyone else's H is uninterested in picking out high chairs?
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? I wish I was an avid reader! I do go to the movies wayyyy too often though. Recently the good ones are: Room, The Revenant, The Danish Girl and The Martian
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rave: Super Bowl party today! Couldn't care less about the game (go ponies!?) ...but can't wait for the food! Symptoms: Feeling rather full in my lower abdomen. My jeans were uncomfortable yesterday. Blah. I fell asleep in the 3rd period of our hockey game last night. Woke up just in time to see the final minute, hah. Otherwise, can't complain!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Trying to pick a paint color. Why is this so hard? Why can't I just afford to hire Joanna Gaines? I feel totally inept when it comes to this.
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? I love to read. L-O-V-E. I did a reading challenge last year with a friend and we're doing another this year. So far I haven't read anything spectacular, but last year The Martian by Andy Weir was The. Best. Highly recommend! I'm really looking forward to the next book in the Game of Thrones series to come out. If it ever does...
June 2016 April Siggy Challenge: Reasons my kid is crying
How far along are you? 20 + 1...it feels nice to be out of the teens!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: We went a friends 30th birthday last night & she announced that she's expecting her 2nd this summer. Very exciting! DH & I ended up leaving just before 11 because I started to feel really sick...& woke up still feeling crappy. Sore throat, body aches, chills, headache...ugh. We're supposed to go to my inlaws for Super Bowl but I may have to back out. Symptoms...RLP. It always surprises me how painful & uncomfortable it can be. You'd think I'd be used to it by now. Heartburn as well.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Nothing today. The crib still hasn't been put together...DH is an incredible procrastinator...& I have no hopes of it being done today (because, football)...so, today is my day of rest.
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? I haven't read as much this last year as I used to. I want to change that. I started My Husbands Secret awhile ago & was enjoying it, then stopped...but I'm going to start it over again. I like suspenseful books right now (Gone Girl & The Girl on the Train were the 2 I read right before this one).
@laurenm2123 I know how you feel re finally being able to say you enjoy being pregnant. I think I finally am out of the morning sickness woods since its been over a week since I puked. Hopefully it sticks this time....as for your question, my husband loves going to BRU and BBB as much as he can and even put up with me literally picking up every single outfit we walked past last time we were there.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Not much to say here. It's been harder to get comfortable to sleep recently but not awful, at least not yet.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Still cutting up fabric for the baby's quilt and slowly piecing things together.
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? I love to read but I haven't had time to really read much recently. I've been slowly working through game of thrones but its a slow process since the show doesn't 100% follow the books and I keep getting lost as to if something has happened or not yet
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: tired, didn't sleep well last night. mostly because of horrible dreams
What are you doing to prepare for baby? going to wash clothes from DS and the consignment sale. I'll have to wash again but the wrinkles are bothering me and I want to figure out what is stained from storage.
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? Yes! I finished recently What She Left Behind by Ellen Marie Wiseman which was kind of sad but good.
DS 9/2/13 was a BFP from an IUI! Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!

He's not really involved because he just doesn't care and I do. I learned when wedding planning not to force opinions out of him when he really doesn't care. I've done the entire nursery but sometimes I'll ask if he prefers this or that. He agrees with the bigger things like paint colors. The list of what we need I have done on my own. He handles things that are more his area like researching mini vans.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant is my mother is driving me nuts. All she asks about the baby is related to the sex. Again yesterday she was texting how she isn't buying baby anything because we don't know the gender! I was like 1) it's sex and we repeatedly told you we are waiting 2) we won't know baby's gender for a long time and 3) We like gender neutral colors. Her response was "Well I don't". Okay then don't get any clothes, we are fine with that!! Then she starts telling me all this stuff she knows based on the ultrasound pic I sent her. Like the baby has lots of hair and it's " light like yours".
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Still gotta register for those classes..!
Questions?
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? I read more in the summer when I'm off (and sitting outside). My kindle's screen recently started doing weird things I am in a book club and our next book is Nicholas Sparks "The Choice". I haven't started it yet. I have been really loving Penelope Douglas lately (romance) and also have been reading some old Agatha Christie books as I have hard copies and my kindle is sick.
Married July 2014 DD born June 2016 Second due August 2020 (team green!)

Have you read the Dublin Murder Squad books by Tana French?
DS 9/2/13 was a BFP from an IUI! Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!
@laurenm2123 My husband has been really involved in certain things regarding the baby (appointments, reading multiple books)...but when it comes to decorating the nursery & registering at BRU, he hasn't been much help. I think it overwhelms him, which I do understand, but it has upset me a few times. Especially when I end up finally making a decision & he gets mad about it or thinks it's wrong. In the case of my DH, I think he's just better at the practical aspects, but prepping & registering is more difficult for him because the baby isn't here yet, so it isn't "real" to him. Plus, a high chair is just a high chair to men, lol...they don't understand (or care about) differences between them all. For what it's worth, DH was also completely useless when we made our wedding registry. Maybe it's just a shopping thing with him, lol.
@laurenm2123 my husband doesn't give much input on baby purchases if I leave it broad (e.g., crib? High chair?), but I've found that if I narrow it down to two or three, he will give his honest opinion. Either that or I pick it out and let him help with the color choice, haha. Turns out, I was more into researching which car seats were safe for 5 hours, including watching YouTube videos

@arteduc8 do you have a land of nod physically in your city? we have one in Dallas, but it didn't have much inventory and I was soooo disappointed @hockeyfan42 I never thought it would be so tricky to choose paint either. We keep flipping back and forth between what we want to paint the walls vs what we want to paint the dresser. Can't move forward with putting the nursery together until we make a darn decision. @DeePaddy24 sorry to hear you're coming down with something, be sure to get LOTS of rest and have someone wait on you hand and foot it helps a bit!
How far along are you? 20w4d
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: I just want to poop like a normal person. Is that so much to ask?
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Cleaning and organizing other parts of the house. Adding a million mini projects to my husband's "honey do" list
Questions? For those of you that run, do you feel the need to use a band to support your belly? I ran the other day - it didn't hurt but just felt weird. I wasn't sure if I should just go ahead and invest in one now since I know I plan to run as long as I can
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? I'm reading a book for work on communication (forget the name) and the last movie I watched that I really enjoyed was Sicario.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: I have endless diarrhea the last 48 hrs. LIke the kind that makes you shakey and need to stay in bed/near bathroom. Ugh. Working hard to stay hydrated, but if it continues through today I will call doctor. Also I have jury duty this week At this point I need to figure out who to call and just say, Yo, I'm 5 months preggo and have endless diarrhea so...no!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Does planning a babymoon to Hawaii count? LOL. We have not a single baby thing in our house yet! And I'm okay with that. I live in a small apartment so baby will sleep in our room in a bassinette or something for the first 6 months. I am going to register for birth class today, as my doctor told me they do fill fast.
Questions? 48 hrs of endless diarrhea--normal pregnancy oversensitive thing or scary food poisoning I should be running to the doctor for?
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? I am a very avid reader! My favorite lately was Steal the Sky by Megan O'Keefe. Highly recommended if you like scifi/fantasy steampunkish books.

My husband is great when it comes to redoing the nursery, reading books about parenting, etc. But when it comes to registering he has 0 interest. Okay that makes me feel better. He didn't care about the wedding either "it's your day blah blah blah". He is seriously the best husband, amazing with our dogs and getting ready in his own way. But my friend made me self conscious the other day when I talked about how little his involvement in our registry he was.
@sgoldberg247 wow! I wish DH was more like that sometimes!
@samsonator good call- I should try just showing him 2 options so he feels involved.
i think he just assumes since I have so much experience with kids (previous nanny, mother/baby nurse, etc.) that I know way more about baby products then he does.
@cdnrunning Crate and Barrel was started in Chicago, so I'm pretty sure the store I went to yesterday is one of their flagship stores for Land of Nod. They had everything I had been looking at online and was interested in. They had a decent sales room too. I also found out they have an outlet store near me I'm going to hit up soon. Yay! Sorry your store was so disappointing.
How far along are you? 21+3
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Hips and lower back hurting but hoping my new maternity belt helps. Finding that SI joint dysfunction and pregnancy are not a good combo. And apparently bloody bm's are a new thing. No pain and not much blood , but seriously pregnancy, get it together!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Registering at BRU today to compliment our Amazon registry. We have one 5 minutes away, so we figured it was a good option for the completion deal.
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? DH is a huge reader but I'm not really one. My reading lately had consisted of What to Expect and Baby Bargains. Movies..... I loved The Force Awakens. Just watched Mad Max, Ant Man, and Imitation Game and thought all were really good especially Imitation Game. Buying DH The Martian for his birthday this month. He's read the book and we loved the movie.
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? I haven't read as much this last year as I used to. I want to change that. I like suspenseful books right now (Gone Girl & The Girl on the Train were the 2 I read right before this one).
Have you read the Dublin Murder Squad books by Tana French?
No...are they good?! I will add them to my list!
Yes they are! Definitely worth adding. The Girl on the Train is on my list!
June 2016 April Siggy Challenge: Reasons my kid is crying
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Feeling great other than a killer sinus infection. Hungry hungry hungry!!!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? We have been working hard on the nursery. Drapes up, mirror hung and shelf mounted this weekend. I have been going a little crazy buying sweet girl clothes.
Questions? Nope
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately?
I am an avid reader, but motherhood has but a damper on that. With a two year old highly energitic boy, I don't have time for much reading. Now movies... We watched Minions recently. ( Does that count?) Lol DS LOVED it! Me, not so much. Haha
Warning

@DeePaddy24 - Feel better soon! Definitely sounds like you need a day of absolutely nothing! I also have to second Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train, great reads!
How far along are you? 21+3
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rave- I LOVE the Super Bowl! I'm actually pretty into football too but I love this day we get together with my H's friends and they're an awesome group of people that I really enjoy being around! Rant- My never a for what we find out in Tuesday are running very high...and the only down side of today is that I know people will genuinely be asking and excited about baby. I'm just hoping I can keep my nerves under control and stay positive until Tuesday!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? To be continued....
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? I definiteky enjoy reading but struggle to make the time for it. I really like suspenseful books but also like to read a romance novel here and there Next up is The Choice by Nicholas Sparks so that my BF and I can have a girls night watching the movie here soon!
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? I haven't read as much this last year as I used to. I want to change that. No...are they good?! I will add them to my list!
Yes! I think kind of similar style to Gone Girl. The rest of Gillian Flynn's books aren't bad either.
DS 9/2/13 was a BFP from an IUI! Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!
I usually don't participate here. But I'm going to try harder to from now on. No promises though
How far along are you? 19+4
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Feeling good other than being tired. But that probably has more to do with having 2 kids than anything else. Little boy has an ear infection but you would never know by the way he runs around acting crazy as ever. Going to a Superbowl party a friends this afternoon which should be fun.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? I am gearing up to buy a new car seat for the boy. We have a Trailblazer with only one back row so we need a specific combo of seats to fit all three kids back there. I'm not particularly excited about having to replace 2 perfectly good seats but it's cheaper than buying a new rig.
Questions? Nope
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? I go in phases where I'll read a ton and then won't read for a long time. But it's been a while since I actually sat down and read a good book. The boy keeps me too busy to do much else other than pay attention to him. I think the last book I read was Gone Girl.
@laurenm2123 My husband has been really involved in certain things regarding the baby (appointments, reading multiple books)...but when it comes to decorating the nursery & registering at BRU, he hasn't been much help. Didn't see this before- yes this is exactly it! He will read hours of parenting books, etc. It does upset me sometimes, but I am taking a step back to realize how truly lucky I am to have such a great husband even if he doesn't care about certain things.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: My MIL is pissed because I didn't respond to her within 24 hours regarding the shower so she cancelled it! So irritated with her. Rave: FInally feeling human again after all my illnesses for the last 3 weeks and I am getting lots of sleep this weekend.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Almost finished with our registry!
Questions? If you register at BRU and BBB, do you put an item on both registry or do you pick one as primary? Which one would you chose?
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? no to either question, I've got nothing lol

How far along are you? 20 weeks today !!!!! Half way party on super bowl. Well maybe not lol
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: I have a fairly large cyst since bfp and I think it may have ruptured or is irritated my side hurts so much or its Rlp. I have my AS on Thursday figured I'd hear more then.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Buying clothes, doing my baby shower list and helping with whatever I can, finished my registry just checking some last minute things and organizing baby stuff since we will be moving before he's born. Seems all so overwhelming.
Questions? What kind of rocker did you register for ?? Room is grey chevron with elephants looking for something small and comfortable.
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? Watching the proposal now lol. I watched ride along 2 at the movies last week nothing exciting to report.
I'll try to participate more on here so I can get to know you ladies better. Enjoy the half show !!!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant-Sleeping is starting to get a little uncomfortable/mostly in my butt! Rave-I actually look pregnant and not just fat. People at work and church are making comments (good ones) about the bump within the last week.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? In the last 2 days we have painted the nursery and ordered crib and dresser!!
Questions? how necessary are mobile's on the crib?
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? I like Christian fiction and murder mystery. Favorite authors would be Lori Wick, James Patterson and Nicholas Sparks.
@Love4Labs326 I think I'd just put it on one registry or you may risk getting duplicates! I don't think you have to necessarily pick one as primary.
@WaitingMay14 We used a rocker/recliner rather than a rocker from BRU, etc. The one we have is smaller in stature and we liked having the recline option for the inevitable long, long nights.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: SPD, SPD, SPD, SPD!!! Ugh. Also my hormones must be up a little this week cause DH is pissing me off left and right.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? DH is painting as much as he can and the room where the old furniture needs to go is just about ready, so as soon as we get that out we can paint the baby room! Furniture is waiting for us at BBB so hopefully its sooner than later!
Questions? Not really.
GTKY: are you an avid reader? If so, what good books have you read lately? If not, have you watched any good movies lately? All baby parenting related stuff. I cant keep my attention on one book for too long so i jump between a bunch!

Rant is my mother is driving me nuts.
My kindle's screen recently started doing weird things
DD born June 2016
Second due August 2020 (team green!)
Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!
For what it's worth, DH was also completely useless when we made our wedding registry. Maybe it's just a shopping thing with him, lol.

@arteduc8 do you have a land of nod physically in your city? we have one in Dallas, but it didn't have much inventory and I was soooo disappointed
@hockeyfan42 I never thought it would be so tricky to choose paint either. We keep flipping back and forth between what we want to paint the walls vs what we want to paint the dresser. Can't move forward with putting the nursery together until we make a darn decision.
@DeePaddy24 sorry to hear you're coming down with something, be sure to get LOTS of rest and have someone wait on you hand and foot
Also I have jury duty this week
Baby #2 Due 3/7/20

Rant/Rave/Symptoms:
Hips and lower back hurting but hoping my new maternity belt helps.
Haha

Rant/Rave/Symptoms:
Rave- I LOVE the Super Bowl! I'm actually pretty into football too but I love this day
Rant- My never a for what we find out in Tuesday are running very high...and the only down side of today is that I know people will genuinely be asking and excited about baby.
I really like suspenseful books but also like to read a romance novel here and there
Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!

ETA- feel better!!!!
Baby #2 Due 3/7/20

@WaitingMay14 We used a rocker/recliner rather than a rocker from BRU, etc. The one we have is smaller in stature and we liked having the recline option for the inevitable long, long nights.
@StayingFocused I don't think mobiles are very necessary. We had one, but DD never seemed to care much about it. Then it got taken down because she was able to reach it. She was much more a fan of the crib soother. It was similar to this: https://www.toysrus.com/buy/sound-and-light-soothers/fisher-price-rainforest-waterfall-peek-a-boo-soother-2455073
