Re: Weekend Ticker Change - 2/6 & 2/7
Rants/raves/symptoms: Heartburn, per usual. Ughhh. Movement has been pretty inconsistent this week, so I'm looking forward to when it becomes a little more consistent and stronger. I realized this week that I've been having occasional Braxton Hicks contractions. My hair has been pretty fabulous throughout this pregnancy - thanks prenatal vitamins!
Upcoming appointments: Monday 2/8, I think I might get to have another ultrasound to confirm our girl is a girl. I've got quite a few questions for the Dr this week.

GTKY: What characteristics & traits of you and your SO do you hope to pass down to your LO? I would love for our LO to have her dad's sense of humor and be a compassionate person like me. I think she'll look like her dad since he's 50% Native American Indian and since those are some pretty strong characteristics. If she had my hair that'd be cool.

Open mindedness is very important to us!
Rants/raves/symptoms: We finally told our two older girls. The oldest saw my shots in my bathroom a couple weeks ago and finally asked the DH if I'm pregnant because she knows I have to have them when I'm pregnant. So we decided we needed to just tell them. That way they also understood why I need more help lately. They are so excited, they can't believe I've kept in a secret for so long, they wish it was a boy but are okay with another girl, and they decided her name will be Matilda. Guess that settles it.
Upcoming appointments: Thursday, which is good because my blood pressure is all over the place, as are my contractions.
GTKY: What characteristics & traits of you and your SO do you hope to pass down to your LO? I just really hope we don't continue to pass down the red hair, that's the only wish I have for this baby. Neither the dh or I have red hair, but we each have people in our families who had it as babies, but out grew it by 2 years old. Our kids lucked out and kept it.
Rants/raves/symptoms: This cold is kicking my butt! I also experienced heartburn for the first time in my life! I can do without that, thank you! Absolutely love the movement, though.
Upcoming appointments: Monday: cervical length US and MFM appt. and dentist, wahoo
Questions for the group: Any funny pregnancy-related comments/questions from people lately?
GTKY: What characteristics & traits of you and your SO do you hope to pass down to your LO? Faith, love of family, organization/neat freak (DH), love of outdoors, travel, and animals (me), focus & hardworking (esp. DH), nice long legs (DH's mom's side), and strong tummy (me, as in I don't usually get GI upset).
I hope our kids don't get my PCOS, DH's heart defect, my sweet tooth, substance abuse/depression (my family), and our stubborn-ness (it's not all bad, right?).
Mama to Three Girls:
Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor
and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
Rants/raves/symptoms: So hungry all the time. Feeling movement a lot more and loving it.
Upcoming appointments: 2/29. Glucose screening and rhogam injection all in one go. That should be fun. Hence why I took the entire day off for this appointment.
Questions for the group:
GTKY: What characteristics & traits of you and your SO do you hope to pass down to your LO? DH's tallness... Or at least some combination so she's not super short like me. His laid back attitude. My eyes and hair. Both of our common sense, intelligence, and motivation.
Rants/raves/symptoms: everything is so hard! Tying shoes, attempting to be active, getting comfortable enough to sleep, my belt during Braxton hicks contractions, ugh! I enjoy all the compliments I am getting, even if people are just being polite.
Upcoming appointments: both OB and perinatologist on Feb 17. Dentist right before VD.
Questions for the group: any preterm labor scares among any of you? So scared of these twins coming before any of us is ready!
GTKY: What characteristics & traits of you and your SO do you hope to pass down to your LO? Would love ginger babies! I hope they will want to build things with daddy and will reject notions of what is traditionally acceptable for girls. I hope they have DH'S patience (not mine) and my poise under pressure (not his).
Rants/raves/symptoms: Heartburn and always sore feet!
Upcoming appointments: This Monday, Monthly apt+GD screening+whooping cough shot. And since my BP has been high, I THINK I get a US too! Want to remember to ask her about 3rd tri tea, and just discuss the Zika thing with her. I was in the DR 3 weeks before conception. I am SURE I am fine but figured better to ask.
Questions for the group: Anyone else broke yet from buying all the baby things?!
GTKY: What characteristics & traits of you and your SO do you hope to pass down to your LO? DH's athletic and math skills (I suck at both). My empathy, which DH really has none of.
Rants/raves/symptoms: Loving all of the movements, nothing too strong because of my anterior placenta but DH has got to feel her gymnastic moves this morning.
Upcoming appointments: 2/24 OB check-up
Questions for the group: Has anyone found any certain kind of music that LO likes? I had bluegrass playing and she was dancing around. She is going to love the BBQ & Bluegrass festival in April.
GTKY: What characteristics & traits of you and your SO do you hope to pass down to your LO? DH love of reading and my patience.
Rants/raves/symptoms: heartburn, leg cramps, hip pain. We had a 3d ultrasound today. So nice to see her!
Upcoming appts: check up on March 9th
GTKY: what characteristics? I hope she takes after me when it comes to math/school in general. I hope she takes after DH's outgoing personality and confidence. DD#1 is such a good kid, loves school and in the top of her class, well liked by everyone, confident, kind of shy, enjoys a wide range of activities. I really hope her little sister takes after her. She was always an easy baby/toddler/kid. But I doubt I'll get so lucky.
Rants/raves/symptoms: Today I tried to tie my shoes, and had trouble bending over and was completely wiped out by the time I'd finished! Yep, I'm pregnant all right!
I've been loving the increased movement!
Upcoming appointments: We have another ultrasound scheduled this Wednesday. Part 3 of the anatomy scan, since baby didn't fully cooperate at 20 weeks or 24 weeks. Going to a specialist (i.e., better equipment) this time.

GTKY: What characteristics & traits of you and your SO do you hope to pass down to your LO? I hope she looks like DH, especially his hair color and smile. I hope she inherits his gentleness and sense of humor. I hope she gets my caring and nurturing tendencies!
We both, unfortunately, have histories of depression and anxiety so most definitely hoping she doesn't inherit that.
Rants/raves/symptoms: other than waking up a bit at night, I feel pretty good most of the time. Just lazy.
Upcoming appointments: I just had one on Friday, so not for another month. I'll find out about the GD test soon.

I hope he has DH's beautiful hazel eyes. Honestly, I want a kid like me. I was well behaved, easy going, not a picky eater, etc... I doubt I could be that lucky, though
Week: 26 weeks
Rants/raves/symptoms: just getting over a nasty virus that made my asthma flare up. This pregnancy has been the polar opposite of my first, and I just want to feel healthy again.
Upcoming appts: February 22 for my GD and 28 week checkup. I know at 30 -32 - 34 I start going every 2 weeks so I wonder if I will go at 28 and 30! That makes me feel like things are getting crazy!
GTKY: future baby girl would be lucky to get any personality traits from her daddy. However, the other day when I was driving I was hoping that both my girls have a sense of humor. I think my husband and I both have a decent sense of humor, and I just want them to be able to laugh!
Rants/raves/symptoms: rant: I sprained my knee pretty bad on Tuesday so have been hobbling and just taking it really slow in hopes of avoiding a bad fall that will make it worse! It's getting better each day so I'm hopeful it will be pretty back to "normal" in a week or so. Rave: I passed my 1 hour gd test. I was pretty concerned since a lot of diabetes runs in the family, but happy I passed!
Upcoming appointments: March 3 for 28 week check up.

GTKY: What characteristics? From me: compassion, patience, math skills, laid back attitude. From dh: hard working, sense of humor, musical talent, and athleticism.
Rants/raves/symptoms: RAVES....my new doctor gave me a heartburn med called Protonix ( I think?) OMG it's amazing. I haven't had heartburn since Friday. More raves...constant movement which I love, although last night I was almost asleep and all of the sudden he turned into the Karate Kid in there. Rants...had to put on snow boots for the first time and it's ridiculously hard. All of my other shoes slip on. By the time I got them on the first time I was so exhausted from the effort that I almost didn't even want to leave the house. And I left them on all day until I was sure I wasn't going out again, because there was noooo way I was repeating that adventure if I didn't have to. Sadly, it looks like they will be constant footwear for the next week while we're buried in snow.
Upcoming appointments: Feb 18 for an appt and my glucose test. I'm starting the every-two-week appointments now
