Jasmine (Maltese/Yorkie) is such a hyper dog. A fire ball as some people say. She loves jumping on strollers. But I think she'd want to cuddle with the baby since it'll be small and have body heat. Looking forward to the first "Fur Baby and Fur-Less Baby Friday" thread!
My frenchie is still a little spastic around strangers, so I'm hoping she'll calm down by the time baby comes. She means well - just wants to jump on you and lick you to death, but I'm worried it will be too rough. She's a snuggle bunny, so I'm sure once she's used to the baby, she'll snuggle right up next him or her.
Neville (our fluffy white pup) is great with a neighbours toddler so I'm confident he's going to love the baby like mad. Winston is largely indifferent to the babies he's met so I kind of expect that's how he'll react
This is Bizzi (left) & Abi (right). Abi is definitely an Alpha and doesn't like children. Bizzi is a follower and just does whatever Abi says. Hoping they warm up to the bb because, as you can see, they are the sweetest with adults, love kisses and cuddling!
On a separate note, found an aural hematoma on Bizzi last night and the DH is taking her to the vet right now where they're talking surgery. Poor little fur baby
Here is my latest picture of Millie and my DH. She acts like our baby just fine, but she hasn't been around many small kids. She likes my neice and nephew but she knocks them over when she's running and excited. I think she will be loving towards a baby if she has any interest in it at all, she will cover it in kisses and will go back to doing her own thing. We will see how things go, first time parents!
Here is our female lab, Bella, snuggling with one of her humans. And then an older picture of our male lab, Banjo, hanging out after playing with the boys.
This is baby boy #4 for us. I don't think the dogs even care anymore.
Bud has made it clear that this is "our" pregnancy pillow. He is surprisingly patient with my roommates 2 year old daughter do I'm sure he will be the same once LO gets here. Very much a snuggle bug, I always wake up to kitty purs.
Tutka begging for toast. She was annoyed with DS until he starting eating solids and now they are buddies (I'll add my favorite pick of the highchair team too)
Phoebe the Yorkie..She's great with my 2 yo DS..She's very small, only about 3 lbs., so we will have to teach the new kid LO to be very gentle with her. Took a while for my son to grasp that concept too. He doesn't try to pick her up anymore though.
Top one is our puppy Cooper (DH was on the other side of the window painting), the bottom is Storm. They are both very loving with all babies they have met. DH is worried that Storm will crush the baby because she has no idea her size. I have tried to calmly explain that if he leaves the baby in a situation where it could get crushed that is his fault, not the dogs.
@jlmartinez517 your black masked baby sounds like my Brooklyn! She licks the hell out of people and won't leave them alone! My SIL has two small children 5 yrs and 20 months. We have had her around them a bunch now and when they were smaller just to see how she is. She is great with them! I think seeing them often has helped her with the anxiety a bit with being jumpy and over barring with little ones . I speak calmly to her and say "gentle" and "baby" and she seems to realize. I also have been letting her and her brother, Yogi smell all the new items I've acquired with the new baby. I think she will be a great protector! Your girly is so sweet
This is Timber ^ she's the sassiest mean girl dog, but she loves table scraps - so I think she'll really enjoy when the baby starts eating at their high chair. I'm hoping she'll be sweet to our little guy/girl .. She liked playing with my best friend's 8 month old, but I don't know how she'll act around a new born. This is Bear ^ he's my sweet boy. I know he'll be so sweet with this baby. He loves to just cuddle on the couch and sleep. I can't wait to see how he acts when the baby comes
I interrupted their cuddle time... Priya (the big brown one) tolerates/loves on DD and Spartacus (white one) and Teilah (not pictured) both tend to avoid. She's a handful so I think they easily get overwhelmed. I'm confident that they'll be great when the next one shows up too
My Addie is the sweetest thing. When she meets a new person she loves them right away but can be crazy over loving on them for a minute, but she's a year next month so she's still a puppy. I'm hoping she grows out of it a little but I would rather a dog who loves too hard than the opposite. However, she has been around our baby nephews and she's immediately really careful and likes to sniff them and lay by them. If one cries she will come from wherever she is all worried looking to lay by them. She's very in tune with how others are feeling. She's fiercely loyal to DH and I as well, especially since I've been pregnant she has been super protective of me. If I'm sick she will lay with me and push with her paw away anyone that tries to touch me. She also has taken a liking to laying on my tummy which she never did before I was pregnant. Now that my bump has come she has settled for right below my tummy or on my side. So crazy how they know what's going on. I think she will be very protective and motherly over our little girl. I'm excited to see it.
DH snapped this photo the other day while I was napping,
This is Layla and Leonard. They're very cuddly and very attached to me. I don't think they're going to be too happy when the baby arrives. Especially Layla, she is not a fan of kids. I am a little nervous and hoping for a smooth transition.
Manley was very indifferent with my girl when she was a teeny infant.
He's AMAZINGLY patient with her (almost a little too patient. He let her pull his tail and ears when she was in that phase. I wished he had at least growled at her. I didn't let her do it, though!)
He checks on her when it storms at night, and he comes to get me when she cries waking up from her nap.
They're buds now. They also share a birthday (she was born on his 5th bday), so that's cool. I've never known my dog's birthday before this one. I've always had rescue mutts with unknown birthdays! This guy is a rescue, but I know his lineage all the way back to the 1800s! They keep lots of records on greyhounds.
Here's their shared Halloween costume from last year. I had waited for so long to make this costume!
Here is my current baby boy 6 year old mini dachshund Barley. He's been so loving and protective since my BFP. His favorite thing right now is to curl into the center of my mini snoogle pillow, lol. I don't really worry about him with LO, he loves to cuddle and tolerates most children very well when they don't run up to him. Toddler years will be helped with the food droppings I'm sure. This lovely lady doesn't live at home. We're actually probably going to have to sell her to help with bills, but have to wait for that leg injury to heal up first. Crossing fingers that something better works out financially so I can keep my Mystique.

This is Ziggy, she is very friendly with all people and loves to give kisses. She is really good with my friends 18 month old, her most favorite part about babies is the food they leave behind. The only thing I worry about is her being excited and knocking down the baby.
My Airus, he will be 2 in April! I'm a bit worried how he will feel once the baby comes he is such a mommas boy. When I picked up my nephew for the first time around him he started yelping! He is much better now. I think he will be very sad at first then he will love the babe as much as he loves us! We will just have to remember to give him extra lovin and treats when the babe comes!
My best guy Ari! I think he will be okay with the baby, but I worry about him feeling left out or jealous. He's very attached to me, even more so the last month. I can tell he knows something is up because he's constantly snuggled up to me and wants to sleep with his head on my chest or on my belly.
