Re: FFFC

  • The kids and I had ice cream, toast, cheese, and pickles for dinner. In that order. Pregnancy you win.

I had Cheerios. Straight from the box.

  • DH and I were about to DTD and kept smelling this awful smell. I later realized it was my new expensive SULFUR face wash! I never told him it was me.

I plan on using pregnancy to get out of going to a Super Bowel Bowl (edit to change and add, yea having some BM problems, Freudian slip?) party.....  The backstory: A couple friend of ours was supposed to come over our place and just canceled.  Our other option is a party with friends we haven't seen in 4-5 months and I know H would like to go. I really don't feel like going across town to a larger party with people we are not close to anymore.  I get tired by eight now and the thought of being at some else's place with so many people that late sounds terrible.  Some also know that we were TTC and I'm not ready to tell them and they will not buy the antibiotics or whatever excuse.  I'm not as football liking as him and I know he wants to watch the game with more than just me.   I really don't think I care if he goes without me, now to convince him to do so or else he will sulk about it.
  • DH had the face to ask me if I wanted to change spot with him since he was tired! I wanted to kill him. I told him that no, I am fine working full time, being a mom of a toddler that requires my attention, that I really enjoy the need of cooking when I cannot deal with smells and just really want to vomit, that my body is working double by the time I am growing our new LO, all of that when I just want to really rest.

  • DH took DD to sell Girl Scouts cookies at her cookie booth last night. DD really wanted me to take her. As horrible as I felt telling her "Not this time", 1 - I'm beyond done with "cookie season" and 2 - damn it I'm tired and just got home from work! I want to remove my bra and pants and veg out for the rest of the night.

*Side note - my phone originally autocorrected bra to brain. Some nights I'd like to remove that too....

  • it took me forever to come up with an unpopular opinion yesterday, and even then, it was still really lame. So my FFFC is that I'm sooo mainstream. I don't even have opinions that don't align with a solid majority.

I gave birth without meds.  No way in hell would I do that.  Props to you, mama.

  • When I read mommy articles sometimes, I realize that at times I can be a sanctimommy.

-my mouth will hang open if your 2yo walks across the high kitchen counter and you don't reprimand them. Said kid fell off the bar chair a few minutes later.

-I will look at a 2 year old on a playground jungle gym with their parents a good 20 feet away.  The playground is made for 5 year olds and there are holes for ladders where your kid can fall right off. I will shoot a glare in their direction.

Re your second judgment - that's me. My two year old is fearless and will scream at the top of her lungs at me if I make any attempt to help her on a playground designed for older kids. I let her do her thing. If she falls, she falls. Luckily, toddlers are smarter and nimbler than we give them credit for. No broken bones or major injuries.

I'm there with you on those things, and have two of my own to add. DH and I were told in the prenatal classes we took with DD that it's not safe to prop bucket carseats on the front of shopping carts (it's not sturdy and they can fall off). We hard core side eye anyone we see doing it now. (Which is actually funny because we totally would have done it if we hadn't taken the class.)

Likewise, shopping at Target recently I saw a mom that had her 16 month old daughter standing and playing in the base of the cart instead of strapped and seated in the front. I like to think I don't coddle my DD, but I also try to prevent her from participating in what I see as dangerous activities. Particularly while she is one.

To each their own but I still stand on the outside and make sure when there's a hole a good 5 feet off the ground that she's not going to slip and fall off.

I guess you're lucky to have a toddler that doesn't demand complete independence.

Whoops, been a bit backed up recently.

  • I let my LO take the blame for a super nasty Dutch-oven fart in bed last night. DH blamed him and then said, "well...SOMEone let out a nasty one anyway," so I think he knew it was me. But I pretended to be asleep and silently apologized to my LO. :)
  • I let DD stand/sit in the base of the cart sometimes. She's 2.5 though so she's balanced and controlled enough for it not to be dangerous. She likes to watch over all the items. She's very cautious by nature so it works, but I would never allow my nephew who is the same age do that.

  • @JennM205 happy birthday momma!!!!
  • I had to go so bad today during school, so I chose the student bathroom over faculty. Two seconds after I shut the door of where the bomb went off, a disruptive student from last year walked into the same exact stall.

    Karma's a stinky bitch.
  • @JennM205 Happy Birthday!!! I hope your birthday goes exactly as you want.
  • There's a kid from my last BMB that can do a whole alphabet puzzle with very little help. He even says most of the letters and coresponding items. My kid barely speaks. We have the same puzzle and mine just tries to eat the letters. FFFC I hate that mom for shoving her smart kid in my face.
    Stupid hormones! I hate everyone
hahaha, I may have said those last 3 words to my husband earlier today.

  • @TheTamedShrew I hear ya. Yesterday DS refused to nap so I brought him into my bed so we both could rest. We watched this God awful triangle detective show that was on PBS or WSKG. It was all about who stole this birthday cake and it was just making me want every existing dessert, but couldn't move bc DS was laying on me half asleep. In case you were wondering, it ended up being the butler and maid (also another random ho) as the main culprits. Crime solved.
  • @TheTamedShrew @RedMar I am right there with ya. I feel so guilty about how much screen time DS has had lately, but I just keep telling myself that it's only a few weeks and he's not going to be permenantly scarred. (From the screen time, at least  :))

  • I am looking forward to my R/C.  No wondering if today is the day I will go into labor.  I'll have that day scheduled months in advanced!  I'll be able to plan who is taking my other kids and when.  And I'll get to eat whatever I want up until 12 hrs before surgery time.
