What color crib for TEAM GREEN?

We're trying to pick a crib color without knowing the gender. We also want a crib we can reuse for multiple kids. Our nursery is gray and we plan to do a blue or pink elephant theme... Depending on the gender. Please comment with any thoughts! I normally like dark brown furniture but white looks great for a crib, but worry about looking dirty over time...

Re: What color crib for TEAM GREEN?

  • White is super easy to match. You don't have to worry about being able to find a dresser or any other furniture in the same shade.
  • Loading the player...
  • DDs room is grey and pink. We have white furniture
  • DS's room is starry night themed with a gray crib. We are having a girl this time and she's getting the exact same nursery. We are moving our son to a new ocean themed room.

  • What color are the trim, floors and blinds in the room? My first pick would be white but if everything else is wood, I'd go with the stain that matches.
  • We did dark brown for both our boys because I wanted convertible cribs and couldn't imagine a full size bed in white. I always envisioned white as more of a girl color too, but that's personal preference.

  • I thought you posted earlier that it's a girl?
  • We were team green for #1 and I went with really dark mahogany furniture, a gray arm chair rocking chair, a whit chair rail and white bead board on the bottom third of the wall and a gray/green/taupe/beige wall color. We did the spring green striped bedding from pottery Barn. And ended up having a boy. It works perfectly.

This. There was a whole thread about a gender reveal.
  • Black is another option to consider if you want a convertible crib and it would go well with the gray.

No blinds yet. Carpet is a very light beige color. The walls are gray with white trim. We have no furniture for the room currently!!

It is a girl. But we're planning to use the cribs for future children as well and don't want to hole ourselves into a crib for one gender. It was just easier to say for team green then to try to explain all of that. People don't like to do much reading I have found.

  • We're doing grey furniture to keep it neutral. We're having a boy this time around, but we plan to have another in the next couple of years so I thought doing gray with hints of blacks/whites and pops of color would be fun and easy.

  • Our gender neutral nursery has dark wood, BUT the walls are yellow so it goes with that color scheme.  With gray walls I'd be more inclined to do white furniture.
  • I don't like how gray walls look with dark wood. Our whole house is dark wood trim, but I wanted a gray and purple bedroom. So we painted all the trim in there white and looks great!

  • I think white is very pretty for a crib, but like some others have expressed, I don't care for it as a full sized bed. If you're not going the convertible route, I would say white is fine. If you're trying to use the crib for 2 babies and eventually convert to full size, I would go with a darker wood.
