TTC After a Loss

Back now - Reintro (loss mentioned)

Hey ladies. It's been a few weeks, but here I am again. I don't want this to seem like a drive-by, since I probably won't be posting actively for a few days, but DH and I found out at the u/s today that baby no longer has a heartbeat. So while we ride out the miscarriage I likely won't be posting much, but I should be back to posting regularly soon enough, I'm sure.

I'm Lizzie, I'm 26 and this is my 3rd miscarriage. I feel strangely like an alcoholic with the way that's worded. Hopefully I can find the same solace here as last time.

  • @FireInWonderland I am so proud of you. You've taken this f@&$ed up hand you were dealt and are turning it around to help others in your situation. I agree that you would be limited in that endeavor by going into nursing. As wonderful as it is, we are ultimately limited in our scope. Your own experiences will make you an even better RE as you'll be able to personally relate to your patients. You are strong and resilient and courageous!

Nooooo. :( I was so happy for you when you get your BFP and I was really hoping that it would be your take-home rainbow baby. This is terribly and horribly unfair. I'm so, so sorry. There aren't even words.

ETA since I was slow responding to this thread and I saw you had updated: the "funeral" for baby sounded lovely. While I'm so very sad for you that it's something you had to do I love the idea of having some sort of "funeral" for the babies we never get to meet. It was very touching. Hopefully it gave you and your DH a tiny bit of comfort and closure.

  • @NamelessAria it did. We did the same thing for the last two miscarriages as well, and it brought us peace each time. We are taking a break now until all the testing is done which is also kind of peaceful. I'm just not ready to try again.

  • I admittedly don't know a lot about the testing for recurrent MCs. I guess it's one of those things I'm hoping I never need to know about. But hopefully, if there is such a thing, they'll find something that is an easy fix so next time you get your take-home baby.

Me either. Supposedly there's a lot they can test for, and once we see the doc tomorrow I'll know more. In the meantime, I decided not to google anything because you always find the most horrifying stories when you google  :/

I can share my experience. I was tested for he following:
-genetic testing of tissue, to look for genetic de
-karyotyope (chromosomal analysis) on both DH and me.
-hormone levels (CD3 and CD21) for 1st cycle Post-mc-FHS and progesterone
    -thyroid function
    -blood clotting
    -testing for PCOS/polycistic
-(Edited due to premature posting) I had a plan to look at my cervix with saline & u/s for 2nd cycle post-mc, but I got results for the genetic tests and my baby hadTurners syndrome.
