Pp glucose test-haven't done it

I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant. I know im suppose to do a follow pp glucose test but I'm terrified. I was diet/exercise controlled and everyone keeps telling me it will be fine. Anyone feel the same way? Did you go do your 2 hr pp test?

I haven't bothered to do it this time because I failed the 2 hour glucose after my first pregnancy. I get my A1C tested twice a year because I'm now considered pre-diabetic. I was more than likely pre-diabetic prior to my first pregnancy, however it wasn't until pregnancy that I was tested.

Lurker from N15 although DD was a 10/29 baby. I was super late on the test; I took it 4-5 weeks past the 6 week recommended date. I was insulin (long and short) controlled and struggled quite extensively during my pregnancy despite being in shape. That being said- completely clear after the test. I knew very well what too high or too low b.s. felt like- shakes, sweating,tired, nausea and I never felt that way PP which is how I knew I was in the clear. I would still definitely take the test, but unless you have sure signs (in which you DEFINITELY should go) I wouldn't stress. Best of luck!

I waited until the later end of the 6-8 week time frame they told me to do it in, not because I was afraid of the results, but I was dreading that damn drink and the boring wait. I was a little paranoid of the results, but I knew definitely that I did now have diabetes or pre diabetes prior to pregnancy (I have thyroid problems, so my endocrinologist always tests my blood sugar and A1c because I have a higher propensity to have diabetes). If you were able to control it with diet and exercise in pregnancy, you are probably fine and even if you did have high numbers, you have shown you can adjust your lifestyle to stay healthy! Just do the test so it isn't hanging over you anymore!!
