Re: FFFC

  • I'm 2 weeks pp and my midwife gave me the go ahead to ease back into working out and having sex yesterday.  I'm more excited about the working out than the sex part!

  • I'd be lying if I said I'm not slightly excited to get back to work next Thursday.  I LOVE being home with DS, but it is starting to get exhausting just keeping up with him, house work, my own personal health/sleep, and cooking.

I could have taken 3 more weeks of leave, but decided to go back to work before our winter break, so I could get paid for it. Like many jobs, as a school teacher, in order to get paid for vacation or a day off that we have, you have to work the day before.  I figured, why not go back 2 days before break and ease back into it and then still be off for a week AND get paid.  Had I just stayed out of work, I'd be off anyway like everyone else but wouldn't get any $ for it.

  • I have given up on going to the grocery store. Either store I go to is at least 20 minutes away, which means a car ride over bumpy roads, getting LO out of the car, through the store, and back into the car. Luckily I can order my groceries online and they deliver them right to my door. I just got my first delivery and I'm perfectly content to keep doin this until LO can hold his head up and is easier to get in and out of the car. I have no shame in my laziness and even answered the door in my PJs.
  • LO kept me and DH up all night long. I got desperate and at 5 am asked my mom to come hold him so that we could get some sleep!
  • I'm currently enjoying a milkshake in my car..
LO is sleeping in his car seat in the back...
When I take him inside it'll be tone for him to eat.. My milkshake will melt..

    Priorities...
You've inspired me to get a milkshake!
  • I wish there was somewhere to get a milkshake here.

  • I spent an hour at the Pediatrician's office this morning, and then 4 more at the ER with LO. In a nutshell, I really really, REALLY dislike my sons stomach and digestive system.

Stomach issues have been persisting with DS, so the Dr. recommended that he go get an Ultrasound. I was very happy that she requested this.  She was listening to his stomach and said; "He has VERY active bowels right now and I can tell there is a LOT of gas in there." My look to her was.... :| Why couldn't you hear any of that the last 4 times we took him in to see you guys? Regardless, I was happy to be on my way to hopefully getting some answers.

Ultrasound showed he indeed had a TON of built up gas despite being able to poop and pass gas pretty regularly.  I couldn't quite understand why he was so backed up, even if he's able to do these 2 things. The tech had to give him some Pedialyte for his stomach to open up a bit to see what she was looking for and within minutes...I'm almost going to change my mind and say within seconds, he let out enough gas for 2-3 weeks worth of farts.  In addition to that, he pooped 3 times while were there. I am so thankful that he doesn't have anything seriously wrong with him, but we left there with essentially; "Your son is just really gassy."  :( An answer that I could have told them weeks ago.  We are now home with some Pedialyte to give to him every couple of days to "flush" out his system and keep him even more regular, as well as the okay to give Mylicon drops when needed.

*sigh*  In the mean time, I'll keep my wine rack full at all times, because a daily adult beverage, is just the medicine that this mommy needs, for the ride we're about to endure for god knows how long!
  • @teachmegs817 Google the windi! Maybe this can help your LO!
