Second pregnancy.. milder?

This is my second pregnancy, and it's just been so different from day one. My first pregnancy started with a twin pregnancy, but ended up with a singleton (vanishing twin.) I was super nauseated all the time and had so many food aversions I could have written a novella. The only thing I wanted to eat was Chick Filet and anything with Cheese. I was super particular about food and had tons of aversions to smells! I felt so "classic textbook" pregnant.

This pregnancy, my second, has been so different, because so far I have NOT been nauseated hardly at all and I'm 5 weeks, 1 day. My main symptoms have been the usual PMS symptoms like sore boobs, thirsty, and frequent urination. I've had worse fatigue, but no real nausea as of yet. Anyone experienced a milder second pregnancy in general? Sometimes I get worried because this pregnancy just doesn't feel as intense; like it's more quiet and unassuming. I feel like it's easier for me to worry more about miscarriage when I feel so good, or so opposite of how I felt LAST pregnancy. Anyway, just venting... makes me wonder if I'm having the opposite gender ;) Last one was a girl, so maybe I'm having a boy this time? Who knows!

Re: Second pregnancy.. milder?

  • My symptoms this time around are TOTALLY different SO FAR. I'm always hungry, super emotional, have hot flashes and cramping. My last pregnancy I had raging all day nausea, migraines, I was never overly hungry and never really emotional. My nausea last pregnancy didn't start until about 7 weeks though.

  • That is exactly how my 1st and 2nd pregnancy was. I was so sick with my 1st, throwing up everyday the whole 9 months. Then with my 2nd I wasn't really sick or sleepy at all, I thought for sure it was a boy but sure enough it was a girl. They are 18 months apart so I was happy having two little girls
  • So wild how different they can be! So far I think mine is pretty similar to my last but it's still early

  • Seriously praying this pregnancy is different than my last so I can actually enjoy it.  It's still too early to tell though.  A lot of people don't start getting ms until 6-7 weeks, some even later than that.

That's exactly how I feel. I hated pregnancy with DS. Luckily mentally I was okay, but physically I was dying. I really really really hope this one is different in a much better way.

  • Every pregnancy is different. This pregnancy my boobs have been MURDERING me and I have a small nursing aversion. Other then that I haven't felt much of anything. I'm WAY early, and most folks don't start serious symptom weirdness until after 6 weeks. So, I wouldn't worry about how this one is going in comparison.

  • Insomnia! My best friend during my last pregnancy has decided to come around and pay me a visit...so tired but so awake!! Sigh.

  • This is the third pregnancy. The first two were exactly the same very little symptoms and zero nausea. This pregnancy is so different if am exhausted, crazy morning sickness, hungry all day. Every pregnancy is different but this is definitely a new experience for me.
  • I DEFINITELY spoke too early about not having any nausea. It came full force yesterday and today.. :( I know it's just part of the deal, I just hate going through it. Definitely a joy killer.
  • I am only 4w 5d but I have nothing to complain about which is making me nervous. I have some slight cramping and gas pain and that's it. I do remember last time not get morning sickness tell about 5-6 weeks but I thought I would feel fatigued by now but nothing.

  • I wish I could say so, but my second was waaaay more intense than my first, I felt a lot sicker and more fatigued for much longer BUT I didn't get that way until later on with my second. Oh, and with my first I never felt a single contraction until they induced labor, but I paid dearly for my first time luck with my second because I had crazy BHCs since my second month! This is lucky #3 and so far just a bit tired but I know that is likely going to change, It's still so early there is no way to tell. But hey, every woman and every pregnancy is different so I hope for you that this will be your easy one ;)
