TTC After a Loss

TTC Troubles.

Anyone, whose is past the 3 month mark and still TTC. As of January 18, we are 3 months from our loss. I feel like ttcing the first time was hard. Now it just feels harder.

Re: TTC Troubles.

  • It is harder after going through a loss. Before it was frustrating because it wasn't happening, it wasn't happening, and then it did. It was all smiles and happiness, and then the loss. It shatters the illusion that having kids is simple and that pregnancy was just an easy process. Now there is fear and anxiety ever present. What if what if what if. Personally, I took a good long break from TTCAL and it helped me and DH recoup and process what happened and where life is taking us. We are TTC again, and it's still hard, but for many reasons now. I hope you can find peace and get your Rainbow  Baby <3

  • Everything @DinosaurJumper said. I'm just jumping back into TTC after a loss, but it's already frustrating. I'm worried how long it might take, and if the next one will stick.

  • I share the same sentiments....so many things go though your mind and I know you aren't supposed to stress because that makes conceiving even harder but how do you not? We are 4 months post loss and I am so scared we will never have a baby again....all of the CM and CL checking, the BBT checking, ovulation kits and failed PTs...it's so frustrating when other people seem to have babies so easily...I wish the best for you and all others on here.
  • It took us 15 months to conceive after our first loss. Try to find a way to not obsess too much over TTC; it doesn't always happen quickly.

  • Took 11 months to conceive first loss. Now I am almost 10 months past that.
  • Thank you ladies.
  • It is hard or at least harder than TV, movies and everyday anecdotes lead us to believe. I feel like I wasted so much money on birth control all those years! I have found that charting and doing things that helped me feel more like I was being a proactive part of the process eased some of the strain for me. Good luck.
  • Yes, yes and yes. Agree with everything. I am 3 months past my second loss..
I got pregnant quickly after my first loss and now that I don't have a BFP this month (2 cycles TTC) I started freaking out. I can't do this to myself, I am gonna cool it.
I can't let TTC consume me, it's too stressful. I am gonna focus on other things, I will continue to temp just to keep track of my cycles but that's it. What I started doing is planning my year as if I am not pregnant, which allows me to get excited about other things outside of pregnancy. If it happens soon, then so be it, if not then I have other things to look forward to.

  • Yes!  We got pregnant again 2.5 months after 1st loss, but it has been 5 months since 2nd loss and we're still trying.  DH and I try to be optimistic and not stress too much.  Good luck!

    Our Journey:
    DS born 05/14
    Losses 06/15, 09/15, 02/16
    DS born 12/16
    HPT+ 1/12/20

  • Took 2.5 years to get pregnant with our loss, there was no reason for it taking so long. Hoping this time is quicker.  Good luck.

  • We have been trying for 4 months since we got the go-ahead after our last loss. I had three pregnancies in a year and a half, so needless to say, we have always gotten a BFP pretty quickly in the past. I just keep telling myself that my body knows how much time it needs, and when it's ready, we'll get our BFP. I think the most frustrating part is that since our last loss, I consulted MFM, so ironically I feel more prepared than I ever have to manage this pregnancy successfully.

  • Good luck to everyone...I thought this last cycle was it for sure but period came today...argh..let's try to stay positive for each other!
  • @Lovefor5inID I'm with you.  I was feeling hopeful this month since my temperature stayed high longer than usual, but temp dropped this morning and AF showed up earlier today.  It was my 3rd cycle past MC, 2nd cycle TTC.  When it's counted out like that it seems like it hasn't been very long at all, but it feels like forever when you're in it, especially with a long cycle like I have.
