Hydronephrosis and ovarian cyst

I was having pain in my right side and lower back that was so bad I had to leave work and get myself to the ER. They told me I had both an ovarian cyst and hydronephrosis but there wasn't anything they could do about the pain other than Tylenol. Anyone else have this problem and find a way to alleviate the pain?

    U had hydronephrosis.... or the baby?

    I did. I went to my OB and she said there wasn't anything they could do about it or the pain.

    I actually have a 5.5cm cyst on my right ovary. My dr advised me to soak in a hot bath for about 10-15 minutes (she said that's not long enough to dangerously raise my core body temp) then take some Tylenol and find a position that is comfortable in the bed and just rest for a while. What's most comfortable for me is to lay on my left side with a pillow between my knees and another pillow sort of under me so that it supports my abdomen. (Think hugging the pillow) I usually feel relief after about 30 minutes with these things combined.

    As far as the hydronephrosis, I have no personal experience, but I have read about it. When pregnancy is the underlying cause there is little that can be done to treat it, as the issue will resolve its self. Without the danger of infection it's really just a very uncomfortable inconvenience.

    Okay awesome I will try that. Its just been a tad frustrating as I'm a very mobile person. Thank you for the advice!
