wondering if any mothers have experience teaching their LO sign language? I'm really interested - have read that babies are ready to start learning around 6 months...any books/flash cards you might recommend?
Baby signing time is good. You can purchase dvds or they offer classes. I just watched some videos and stuff online and learned signs on my own. I started around 6-7 months. Sometimes my 2.5 year old still signs words as he says them.
Same as PP for me too. I taught my first child simple signs more, milk, please, thank you, etc...I watched youtube videos with him and I taught him that way, he was about 9 months old.
ETA--Oh, and same as PP my son still signs "thank you" as he says it and he's 4 now...so cute!
I heard of it before but never put much thought into it. Now with this thread I looked into it and will definitely be doing it. It looks like fun, has developmental advantages, it's super cute when babies sign and it helps him to communicate more and get frustrated less.
