January 2016 Moms

Any other FTM overdue? No longer having January babies?

HELLO OVERDUE MUMS!

sitting here and I am a FTM, 40 + 3 days pregnant with a active little one! Been loosing mucus for only 2 days now but not a big plug yet. No other real signs, just a bit crampy and heavy down there. I have an appointment tomorrow and not wanting to think about inducing... Really want this baby to come naturally

Anyway, how overdue are some of you and what are you all up to? What are your plans, are you doing anything to try get baby to come or just taking it easy? Hope we all have little babies in our arms very very soon and successful labours and deliveries. Trusting God

Re: Any other FTM overdue? No longer having January babies?

  • Me too! I'm 40+4 today and also hoping to avoid induction. I'm having an appointment on Tuesday to check on the little guy, and provided everything looks fine my midwife says we can wait until 42 weeks to induce. I want to trust in my body's ability to give birth naturally unless there are any signs it's not working out. I've had a very uncomplicated pregnancy, baby is very active, and I'm still feeling relatively good physically, so I'm just trying to hang on mentally. I learned at my 38 week appointment that I was already a few cm dilated and baby was engaged, so I've had my hopes up for a long time. Now I'm feeling like he'll never come! But he has to show up eventually, right? I've been walking a lot, sitting on my exercise ball, and keeping up with my stretches to hopefully be in good shape to bring him out when the time comes. The real challenge is just maintaining a positive attitude and trying to enjoy my last few days of not being a mom. The time goes by pretty slowly since I started maternity leave!

  • Yeah, I think there are still a fair amount of us left.  A bunch of us check in on the late January due dates thread pretty regularly:  https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12652466/late-january-due-dates-check-in/p17

And people have been posting on the post 40 week thread as well.

As for me, I'm 40 weeks today and it's definitely looking like I'll have a February baby.  Mostly taking it easy, but incorporating some walking, some exercise ball bouncing and some old wives tale stuff (pineapple and a local salad that allegedly causes women to go into labor, haha.)  I think I'll probably try to step it up, labor inducing activity wise later in the week, since I'd love to avoid an induction, if possible.  (I'm scheduled to be induced the evening of Sunday, 2/7, if she doesn't come on her own before then.)

    Fingers crossed for everyone waiting!

40+2 here! Like @maureenmce said I check in on the 40+ thread as well as late January due dates thread. Hoping our babies come soon! I did console myself today with the thought that Feb is a better birthstone. :)

ETA I'm not scheduled to be induced until 41+6 on 2/11.

  • No baby yet for me either.  And also no sleep!  I've been fortunate in the sleep department my entire pregnancy but this past week I've struggled with nasal congestion and just overall discomfort.  I am scheduled to be induced on Thursday if LO do sn't come before then.
  • 40+4 and it's officially February! I have an induction scheduled for Thursday, but I'm really hoping to go into labor before then. FTM and is really like to experience labor, even if only for a bit and chickening out and going for some drugs lol.

    Heres to fantastic February babies!
  • I am over due as well. 40 weeks 6 days. My Dr scheduled induction for me on Thursday. I'm hoping to go before! But other than being dilated 3.5cm and 70% effaced and mucus plug lost  no signs. No contractions or anything... Hope everything goes well for everyone!
  • 40 weeks plus 2 days over here as well.  Last week I was 50% effaced but only 0.5 cm dilated (if that even counts).  I have an appointment with my OB tomorrow to check my fluids and an NST.  Fingers crossed that there's some action going on down there.  I'm tentatively scheduled for an induction on 2/9, we will see how the appointment goes tomorrow.  I'm really tired of being pregnant but tempted to ask to have my induction moved to 41 weeks plus 5-6 days if baby continues to look healthy.  I'd really like to go into labor naturally.  I've mostly been walking, eating pineapple (partially it just sounded really good), drinking raspberry tea.
