  Well obviously it's sarcastic. It's not something I would actually do. Not sure if you saw my original post a while back about nursing in public.

  It's really just meant to be funny. I don't think anyone actually does this in public. But I do think moms should be able to feed their babies hassle free and stress free no matter where they are.
  
  I was at a play gym place near us with my 3 kiddos and a mom next to me had 6 of her own. She very freely breastfed. Didn't cover. Didn't seem bothered that she wasn't covered and didn't seem to care who saw. Sometimes I wish I was more like that. I fumble with the stupid blanket. Trying to cover. Baby hates it.   It's just a boob. Really, we need to desexualize them at least a little bit. They make milk for babies. I thought it was a funny way to make a point ("you don't like my boob? ok, here's a hat.").
  
  On a serious note, I use a nursing cover in public and my LO sometimes hates it and other times it seems to help him focus on the food instead of on all the interesting things going on around us. On occasions when I forget my cover, I try to swing a jacket over my shoulder, but I've also been known to go cover-free. You can't really see much anyway unless you are really trying to look -- the baby covers up most of my chest!

  I would try to cover up a little bit I think bf in public is normal. I don't like people who make an issue of it. I just dont think it's good to be so confrontational. Although I know most people wouldn't use a boob hat.
