Vagina pressure

Hi everyone,

I had my baby 2 months ago now and I am getting this wierd pressure in my labia (sorry for the tmi) is anyone else getting this? It happens when I'm sitting down or crouching...like a build up or swelling down there? I don't know what it is and can't find any info on it.

  • Yes! The past couple weeks a get a random feeling like it's bruised or something..not during any particular activity or movement but I've been wondering about it or if it'll ever go away lol
  • I don't have any advice but I just wanted to say that the title of your post is amazing. I immediately pictured my vagina bullying me into doing things.

I'm sorry you're going through this though. I hope you get some answers!

No advice here either. But I read it as Vagina Pleasure at first and was expecting a totally different kind of thread.

  • I've had the same sensation, I think it might be related to the fact that I have a small bit of granular tissue where my tear was stitched that is still healing. Did you tear? Could be that the sensation is from the newly-healed tissue stretching as you sit on the toilet or squat down.
  • I have the same thing, I had a labial tear so my OB chalked it up to the wound healing tight. She said it should loosen up but there is a small chance it won't.

Also when I read the thread title I started singing Under Pressure in my head but subbed out Under for Vagina. Made my night!
  • Yup, I still feel the pressure/tingle, 9 weeks after giving birth. I did ask my OB and she said it is the nerve tissues that are healing and those take the longest to heal. Today is the 1st day since I gave birth where I do not feel any pressure and the pain is minimum! Yay!
  • It could possibly be pelvic organ prolapse, if it feels like something is falling out of your vagina (I know, tmi) then it could possibly be that your tissues have weakened and your bladder could be "falling out". I would go to a physio therapist ASAP if you suspect this.

...I don't understand where you got this as a possibility from "pressure in my labia," but okay.

OP, I have that pressure, too; sometimes sitting down is rather uncomfortable. I had a second degree labial tear. Try to remember that our bodies went through a LOT of trauma, and they have a lot of healing to do. It's probably just one of those things that'll take a while to return to normal.

Thanks everyone for the comments, nice to know I'm not alone. I did tear but I'm not sure what tore all I know is that I had to wait patiently while I was stitched up. The pressure hasn't been too bad recently so hopefully I can avoid a doc appt.

And my vagina is a bully and is always pressuring me into things but that's a separate issue ;)
  • @queenwog try googling prolapse.
  • I have the same thing, and also had a 2nd degree labia tear. I asked my midwife about it at my discharge appointment. She did a pelvic exam and said that my front pelvic muscles were taking a break and my back ones were picking up the slack. She recommended pelvic physio if it doesn't fix itself in a couple of weeks.
