Astrological Sign Reactions

This is such a random topic, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has gotten the reaction along the lines of "oooh, a Leo!" (or Virgo for some of you.. and yes I had to look that up!) immediately after you tell someone your EDD? I've gotten that reaction SO many times and I'm just wondering if anyone else has and thinks it's incredibly bizarre. I have nothing against people who are into horoscopes/astrology but it has never been something I've been particularly interested, and I didn't realize how many other people are so into it!

Yes I've gotten it a few times. I myself am a July Leo and would probably respond with something similar if someone told me they were due in the Leo time frame. If I wasn't a Leo I probably wouldn't notice as I don't know all of the signs and when they are.

To be fair there are several Leos in DHs family and maybe that's who it's coming from the most, I honestly can't remember... but it's definitely coming from people outside the family too. I just thought it was interesting where peoples' minds go when you tell them the date. When other people have told me their EDDs my first reaction is usually geared more towards the season ("oooh a summer baby!" "awww a Thanksgiving baby!", etc.)

H is a Leo and I am a Virgo. If baby is on time they will be a Virgo but H has said he hopes they come early so they can be a Leo too... no idea why....

Yes, but in a good way! Two of my closest friends are Leos so the reaction has been, "Yessss, a feisty Leo!"

My SO is a virgo and if this baby stays near its due date it will be too. I said when I found out the due date, hopefully it comes earlier so it's a leo. They are much more laid back!

I heard with DD a few times about being a cancer. Mostly from people who were cancers.I would never know which astrological sign goes with which birthday except for my own.

My mom still says (at least once a day) "well, he's a Virgo" as a justification for anything my son does. Yes, he's 2.5. You can tell exactly what his personality is according to his astrological sign at the ripe old age of 2.5. Yes, I know he was born at the end of Aug which makes him a Virgo. So what. This one will be too and I almost can't wait for this kid to be different (not too different though because my son is pretty easy) and for me to point out - "totally different than my son but 'he's a Virgo' - right???"

Whenever people bring up astrology in a serious way, it takes all the strength I have in my body to keep my eyes from rolling back in my head! Good thing no one has said this to me yet.

I announced yesterday and that was the second reaction that I got. Granted it's from one of my best friends who pays close attention to astrology and such so it wasn't too surprising to me. I always want to ask "what does that mean?" because I don't know differences or how personalities are supposed to be

YES! I'm just amazed how it's an instant reaction for people. We just hit 14 weeks today so told a lot of people over the weekend, which is probably why I'm noticing it. Out of the big cluster we told, it seems like a decent amount had that reaction.

I haven't gotten any of that, but I thought it at one point. This baby is due two days before my birthday (which is why I thought of it) and a day after our anniversary so the more common response is how busy DH is going to be that week lol. I never really thought about what sign DD is, though. Most of the time I'm nothing like what a Leo is supposed to be like (more of an introvert and not really all that feisty) so I don't hold much stock in it.

. I love astrology - hee hee I already know I'm a weirdo! - and think it's so weird when personality traits match people's signs. My baby will be a leo and everyone here will have Monkey babies - yes, I even like Chinese astrology lol!

I've definitely heard it but I think a lot of it has to do with almost every important male family member of mine, including my husband, is a Leo. My two best friends are Leos and the majority of the females I'm close to are Leos. They were joking that I missed the Leo mark by a week.
