Amber Teething Necklace

What does everyone think of these? My first child had no teething issues but my second baby is completely different from him (like in every way lol) and I'm thinking she may have a hard time. Kind of thinking ahead here. I'd love some input/past experience!

Re: Amber Teething Necklace

  • I just bought an amber teething bracelet/anklet for my girl yesterday (put it on her ankle cause she licks her hands and knaws on her wrists). She's having a terrible time right now and in so much pain. Tylenol, Orajel etc is helping a little bit not much. I've been told the amber products take a couple of days to start working so I'll come back to this thread and let you know how it goes! So far I haven't noticed too much of a difference but it's been less than 24 hours

  • I will be getting my son one when the time comes. But I think I will get an anklet so I don't have to worry about him choking at night. I have only heard good things about Amber and teething.
  • Thanks ladies! I knew one woman who swore by them and another who swore it did nothing! Yes, @momma2char let me know!! :)
  • Someone gifted me with one but I decided not to use it. I feel like babies shouldn't have anything around their necks for fear of strangling themselves. Or one of the beads breaking off and her choking on it. Fortunately, my baby's teething symptoms are just drooling and chewing her fingers. But when we go to the doctor on Friday I'll ask what she suggests for relief. I'm the "overly" cautious mom, I suppose.

  • @brittanispears I feel the same way with the necklaces. I've always been concerned with the choking hazards. But knowing there are anklets I'm very interested if it works lol
  • I just double the necklace on my babies ankle
  • I'm onto day 2 and I've actually noticed a big difference- I was a skeptic but she had been screaming all day long a couple of days ago and last night she slept better than she has in about a month and today she's so much more cheerful! She's still drooling buckets, chewing/sucking on her fingers and has cried in pain a few times, but no terrible inconsolable meltdowns today!
  • I started using it and noticed a difference. It's crazy! Her hands aren't in her mouth as much and the drool has lessened as well. I just don't like it around her neck. I'm constantly pulling it down. If I dbl it around her ankle it falls off.
  • @momma2char and @waltersmom83 I'm so happy to hear positive things!! I'm going to order one for my daughter this week. Where did you ladies buy them??
  • My local once upon a child store had them for sale on their counter, I think the brand just says "healing Amber" last night was another successful night with the anklet, so I'm hoping it works for your little one too!!
  • Thanks!! She hasn't started with any visible teething symptoms, but its awesome to hear that it's providing your baby with some relief! I am going to check out once upon a child this weekend, I didn't even think to check there first!
