Where Is The Bleeding Coming From?

I'm 9 weeks and was in the ER Thursday night for bleeding and cramping. I'd been bleeding and cramping since Tuesday and my doc was worried. The abdominal ultrasound found nothing and I had a pelvic exam. Wouldn't the ER doc have said if my cervix was irritated and causing the bleeding? Instead she phoned my doc and he wants me on bed rest until my appointment on Wednesday. Where am I bleeding?

Re: Where Is The Bleeding Coming From?

  • I forgot to mention I've had pretty severe cramping too

  • I was just seeing if anyone else had gone through this and could offer insight.
  • Sadly OP everyone experience is different and on the topic of bleeding rarely can their stories offer any insight as it may cause unnessary anxiety or give false hope. Some questions are best left for you dr even though it sucks to wait that is what you have to do.

And like the pp said we can't tell you the answer to your question Which was "where am I bleeding" we have no idea and can't help. Just follow dr's orders and wait

  • Could be a SCH
  • I had a friable cervix and was on bedrest. It was more of a "could be the cervix since baby looks fine". See if you can see your doc before Wednesday so you can get some peace of mind. Did the ER tell you how the baby overall looked? Hang in there and try to stay relaxed and positive.
  • I'm trying to get in to the doc earlier. I started spotting and cramping again today:(. It's just frustrating. The baby looked great Thursday and hopefully he/she is continuing to do well:)

Just from experience if you are spotting and cramping your doctor should you see you right away. You can always go to your office and they will see you. At least mine does. I had a SCH and as the PP said everyone's story is different. Best to see your doctor as soon as possible to give you a piece of mind. I can ask you if its bright red or dark brown but to me that doesn't matter because when I lost my first pregnancy it was dark brown and they usually say that's normal and for me it was not. Only the doctor can tell you.

Edited to add that this pregnancy for me is different I started spotting and bleeding early on and it turns out its normal it was a SCH.  However, I was freaked out because its the way my first pregnancy had ended. I did not let them tell me it was normal I asked to be seen right away. Of course I was crying and in a bit of a panic that history was repeating itself.

Bleeding can be normal or it can be bad. I sound repetitive but best to be seen. Good luck to you!

  • Hi ladies they won't see me until tomorrow so until then it's bedrest. Luckily there's been no more bleeding/spotting since last night and the cramps aren't so bad today.
