I already have everything, nothing left to splurge on!
Mine would be a nice jogging stroller. I really want to get in shape after she gets here. I have my son's ordinary stroller, and there are too many other things to budget for that. I may get a used one if I can find it.
I would splurge on newborn pictures if I could! I truly regret not getting them with my older son, Oskar, but I could not afford them then and I cannot afford them now. I did some amateur pics with Oskar and they are okay. Hoping to do a better job with Leon, but we shall see!
We already have a fantastic stroller system but now that we're adding a second I'd splurge on a really great system for 2. I'm trying to find one that is lightweight (under 25 lbs with 2nd seat or standing board) but they're all too heavy or all the dollars.
For sure the stroller! I've had many and finally splurged on the BOB which has kept up with our active lifestyle through 2 and now 3 boys. We've taken it on sand, grass, trails and it rides great and also hauls tons of gear. I even used it as a double and had my older boy sit in the front foot rest often and it shows no sign of wear. For me that is the thing you will use longest and will take the biggest beating. Second would be the carrier but I wouldn't go overboard. You can get a great carrier used in perfect condition for pretty cheap.
I feel kind of guilty cuz LO has grandparents who've already done the splurging for us, so my vote was nothing else to splurge on. My parents very generously got us my dream Uppababy Vista stroller, the in-laws bought us our PBKids crib and highchair, so hubby and I just really had to buy the infant carseat and dresser. We have also been spreading out the purchases for the everyday necessities since July (I was/am an excited FTM so started planning early).
I'm split between wanting a new dresser, a Snuza, and newborn photos. DS broke one of his drawer tracks, so until DH fixes it, I have to creatively store DS and DD's clothes. Idk how well the Snuza works, but I wish I could try it out. MIL paid for DS' newborn pictures (at 6wks). Her gift of them is the only way we'd get them for DD. (DH can't say no that way.)
I would splurge and go all out on the nursery. We are moving to a 2 bedroom apartment and our lives are kind of up in the air. I wish we had a forever home we could go all out on but that is at least a year if not a few years down the road. SO says he would get the best baby monitor system ever, multiple cameras and an iPad like screen lol.
A mommaroo .. which I did this week! I felt a twinge of guilt, only because we have everything from our 1st DS and really didn't need any more baby gear.
Definately my stroller/travel system. We bought the Britax when my first son was born, and 5 years two kids later it's still going strong! We have had to replace the wheels several times, but I am a runner and frequent Disneyland visitor and LOVE my stroller! I'm just happy I can still use it for this next baby
That's tough! We're hoping to find a second hand glider, but that would be the item we splurge on!
I'm anxiously awaiting my work shower so I can purchase the remaining items off my registry. I really only have two big ticket items on it still, a glider and a high chair. I've only bought one or two things so far, a couple cloth diapers and some items that were on sale.
I bought a Beco Gemini carrier when DS was 6 mos old, and boy did I wish I'd bought it sooner. So much easier and more comfortable than my Moby or any of the other structured carriers in the store. I don't recommend you spend anything less than $100 on a carrier. We used it a lot, and with a toddler to chase after this time I'm sure DS 2 will spend a large chunk of his infant time strapped to me.
Of the items on this list I'd probably say professional newborn photos since we aren't springing for those, but it would be nice to have them. We are very fortunate and have been able to afford basically everything we've wanted to get for this baby, though that is partly because we're not really interested in high-end items/brands. But what I'd really like to splurge on would be hiring some help after baby is born. My husband is able to take some time off and my mom is coming for a short visit, but I'd love to be able to hire someone to take care of the light cooking and cleaning for a while so we can just focus on figuring out the first-time-parent thing without the house going to shambles. That or hiring someone to take care of our dog while. Not to send him away, but just someone to handle the walks and stuff (we live in a city apartment w/no yard, so just letting him out for a few minutes isn't an option, he needs actual leash walks three times a day). Ah well, wishful thinking and first world problems!

Yes, I agree. I had a Moby and a Baby Bjorn with our first and I wasn't a huge fan of either. For DS, I bought an ergobaby and it was well worth the money. Neither of my babies liked to be in the stroller for the first several months, so I wore DS anytime we were out and about. It kept my hands free for DD/carrying stuff. I was really glad I went for it and not a double stroller. Wearing your baby makes taking care of a toddler so much easier and it keeps baby happier.
A live in maid would be amazing. My kids are so freaking messy I literally cannot keep up with their messes plus accomplish anything else. This is going to sound like a total first world problem (and it is!) but we have cleaning ladies and sometimes just getting ready for them to come is really stressful. They come early in the morning so after the kids go to bed the night before I have to go around and put everything away and straighten up then in the morning get everyone ready and out the door without making a mess, that's harder to do than you might imagine! But the 20 minutes that my house stays clean after they leave is glorious!

Oh yes! I clean for the cleaning lady to come... sounds a bit like an oxymoron and my coworkers make fun of me, but I don't know how the lady can clean without me putting out some of the messes, or else she would be charging me three times as much.
In some countries, having a maid / live in nanny is such a common thing (and affordable) so the moms can work without stressing to come home and do all these other housework. Just wish we have that affordable option here. (I'm totally not complaining! I am thankful that both of us have a job and DD has a safe daycare to go to.)
I chose other just because I honestly don't know! I'm a FTM and we've been very blessed by family, in-laws purchased our crib and a super nice stroller, my mom bought us our monitor, swing and rock n play. We are "splurging" on newborn photos (does $200 count as a splurge?!) So maybe a carrier? or an unlimited budget for clothing? or a maid? I guess maybe I'll know better in 5 weeks when he is here and I am going "gosh I wish I had......!"
