Re: PGAL check-in 2/1

  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in. Peggy Olson here. DS was born in 2013. We had a surprise BFP in July '15 that ended in a MMC and D&C in September. Then we had another BFP in late November that resulted in a chemical 4 days later.

    2. How far along are you? 4 weeks.

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to? If I make it to Thursday, I'll have made it longer than my chemical. So, I feel like if I make it to the end of the week, we're off to a good start!

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: So far, I feel so different than I did with my chemical. I never really felt pregnant then. But this time, my boobs are so sore, I'm bloated, starving, extremely thirsty, slightly nauseous and I smell everything. I'm hoping that's a good sign!

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? Acupuncture for sure.

  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.
Hello everyone. I never participated in the ttcal boards. It was just too hard for me. I lost my first pregnancy in November at about 7 weeks.

    2. How far along are you?
    4 weeks

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
i know it's still far away but really I am just looking forward to seeing the heartbeat. I feel like I'll be able to relax after that.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
i have had lots of nausea since before I found out. Which I like because with my mc I didn't have symptoms until like 5-6 weeks. And I've had no bleeding at all. With my mc I was spotting the whole time.

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety?
it helps looking at baby things online and Pinterest.
  • @joyful08 I agree with you about looking at baby things. I just bought two newborn cloth diapers and DS picked out a toy at Babies R Us for the baby. Keeps me hopeful!

  • Exactly @PeggyOlsonFTW ! It doesn't feel real so I find the more I look at baby stuff and talk to DH about "little dumpling" maybe I'll start to believe that I actually get to have a baby.
  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.
    I'm Ashley.  I had a m/c in 09 at 5 weeks and a m/c at 13w2d in 2013.. I have three kiddos - 12/09, 11/11, & 10/14
    2. How far along are you? 5 weeks today

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
First appt next Monday, end of first tri!

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Went to the Y and exercised this am and now I'm about to take a nap! Winning Monday!

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? I've been looking at baby stuff, thinking about baby a lot.  Took my last CBE digi with weeks predictor and it said 3+ today which is perfect! :) That made me feel pretty good.
  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.
Hello ladies! I'm excited to be a part of a BMB so soon after my 3rd loss in October. Hubby has a 15 year old, but this will be our first together.

    2. How far along are you?
    I'll be 4 weeks tomorrow.

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
Graduating from the every-other-day beta draws. I'm sitting at the doctors for my very first right now. Waiting till the next day for my results causes me so much anxiety.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Hubby's been taking very good care of me. Cooking me whatever I suddenly start craving. Mostly grilled cheese sandwiches. Lol

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety?
My family. I wasn't going to tell anyone this early, but my son figured it out, I couldn't keep it from my parents, then my husband blabbed to his family, and then I got suckered into telling my grandma, who was apparently bitching about how lazy I was being. Lol. I was mad about so many people knowing at first, but I do feel better now that all my family members that I seeing on a daily basis know and are praying for us.

    E will be 18 on July 24th
    Z was born October 16, 2016
    #3 Due October 9, 2018

    MC - November 29, 2012
    CP - November 15, 2014
    D&C for MMC - October 13, 2015

  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.
I'm Sam.  I had a D &E  in 09 at 13 weeks - the cause of the MC was found to be trisomy 21. I have two sons, 5 and 3 years old.  I'm 35 years old.

    2. How far along are you? 4 weeks 5 days (or 5 weeks based on ovulation)

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
Hopefully a reassuring CVS result.  I'm all of a sudden petrified about something being wrong - these are feelings I didn't have either my M/C or my two other healthy pregnancies.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I'm not sure how i'm going to get through the next 7 weeks - particularly since I look pregnant already (third kids really do pop earlier!).  I'm particularly annoyed because the earliest I can do a CVS - 11 weeks - is less than 3 days before I'm supposed to go on a flight for our spring break trip.  If i use date of ovulation, I could get it done two days earlier, but i'm not sure how accurate that is and I don't want to risk anything.

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? Right now, not much.  My loss was so late that I wont feel relaxed until 13 weeks.
  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.
Im Elizabeth. This is my third pregnancy but I have one beautiful DD who is almost 3. I had a MC in October at 12 weeks.
    2. How far along are you? 5w2d

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to? My appt on the 17th

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Feeling pretty calm so far but I know that at my appointments I will be a wreck until I see/hear the heartbeat.

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety?
I am trying to be really positive this time around...this pregnancy feels different than the last one.

  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.
Hi everyone, this is my second pregnancy after a loss at 8wks back in July 15.

    2. How far along are you?
    4 weeks, 5 days

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
All I want is to see a healthy heartbeat, I never got round to that with my first and as soon as I see that and get past the 8wk mark I think I'll relax a bit.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
With my first I had a period and also spotting throughout, everyone said 'oh loads of people bleed while pregnant it's fine', but obviously it wasn't for me. So this time I've had nothing, no bleeding, spotting and yet I feel gassy, bloated and sicky which I'm taking as a really good sign as it's completely different to the first time round, feeling positive!

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety?
Just learning to take every day as it comes, the future is mostly out of my hands and today I am
    pregnant, enjoy it!
  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.
My name is Elizabeth and last January I had an emergency c-section at 25 weeks old (b/c of crazy bad pre-e) during which I gave birth to a stillborn son that my husband and I named Enoch.

    2. How far along are you?
    I'm 5 weeks today.

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
hearing the heartbeat(s) on the 25th.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I feel like this pregnancy is off to a better start than my last.  At least I'm taking better care of myself.

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety?  Making the first dr appointment.

    1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.
I'm Kate and DH and I found out about our loss a little past 10 weeks this August. My body surprised us again when we thought I wouldn't need a D&C and I ended up needing one in November.

    2. How far along are you? 4w5d and couldn't be more excited

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
Hcg work this Wednesday and Friday (I hate waiting but DH came with me to every appointment and lab work during our long loss journey, so we wanted to be together for these happier tests too) and 6 week ultrasound, since we didn't get to see the heartbeat before.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I was feeling great and happy until overcome with a crying jag and anxiety today...real lesson in taking it one day at a time! Didn't participate in any online community stuff last time so dipping my toes in now...so sorry for everyone's losses but grateful for empathy and shared good thoughts.

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety?
Whenever I have a nervous thought, I try to counter it with a joyful thought. Deep breathing, meditation apps with 2-10 minute meditations, and lots of prayer helps too!
  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.
My name is Hailey and I had a Miscarriage on Christmas. I was 6.5 weeks along. I have a DS who will be 3 in May.

    2. How far along are you? 4 weeks and change.

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to? The first ultrasound so I can know that it's in there developing as it should.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Insurance change sucks.

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? Trusting that what is going to happen is supposed to happen. And accepting the fact that I have no control. Meditation every morning has really helped.

  • 1. Intro: I have three kids and we're trying for one more.  We had an early m/c after our first two kids, and 3 months ago we had a m/c and D&C at 12 weeks.

    2. How far along? I'm 5w1d, due 10/2

    3. Milestone?  I'm looking forward to my ultrasound on 3/1, but our last baby was lost after a good ultrasound, so I'll really feel better once I hit 2nd tri.  I'm also planning to do NIPT this time so it will be reassuring if that comes back good.

    4. Rant/Raves/Positive Vibes:  Overall I feel pretty good about this pregnancy, but I can't bring myself to get too excited yet.  The waiting part is really hard.

    5. What's helping the most with PGAL anxiety?  I'm doing an internship right now that's taking up a lot of my time, and of course my kids are keeping me busy, so it helps that my mind is occupied with other stuff a lot of the time.

  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in. I'm Emily, I have two precious boys ages 5&2. We were very excited and then heartbroken a few days later when I lost our baby in Oct. I was between 4-5 weeks.

    2. How far along are you? 5 weeks today!

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to? 1st Appointment 2-19...praying we see a perfect heartbeat.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I am passed our loss and feel so different this time. I take comfort in the waves nausea. Sure would love to not feel motion sick after each car ride.

    DH has been awesome!

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? Being past our loss point and the nausea

  • 1. Intro: My name is Julia and this is our second pregnancy. I delivered our stillborn son at 21 weeks in November due to placental insufficiency.

    2. How far along are you? 5 weeks today.

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?  First ultrasound so we can see and hear the heartbeat. Our doctor doesn't do them in office so it'll be sometime after our first appt on the 16th.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I feel like I'll be holding my breath this entire pregnancy, waiting for the other shoe to drop.

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? Reminding myself that every pregnancy is different and that my doctor said that that what happened before is SUPER unlikely to happen again because it was just like a freak thing that happened. Looking at baby stuff definitely helps! We went to look at strollers today :)

  • @Julia70286 that is what they put on my son's certificate of stillbirth too!  You're the first person I've ever heard of who lost their child to placental insufficiency aside from myself.  I'm glad to hear your dr said the same thing my dr said, that it's unlikely to happen again, that makes me feel better somewhat.  thanks!

And our DD was born at 21 weeks due to an incompetent cervix, she is missed everyday. I was active on the Loss board for awhile before TB hoopla and mass exodus, as well as DS2's bmb.

    2. How far along are you?
    I am 4w4d with baby #4

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
First appt on 3/4 and then scheduling my cerclage.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Nothing specific, looking forward to happy and healthy pregnancy

    1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.  WARNING MC DETAILS copied from other intro  ;)
Hi ladies!  I am terrified, surprised, anxious, and thrilled to be with you all!

It's still early days of course (10/7 edd) but I'm fairly certain this is a miracle.

I was due 6/16 after a mysterious inability to get pregnant, had a pretty perfect pregnancy, great doppler and ultrasound at 5w4d, great at 7w6d, went in for my 13w nucal scan the day before Thanksgiving thinking that maybe (just maybe) we'd sneak a peek at the sex super early) and nothing... the u/s tech found nothing and then ran out of the room for 15 minutes while the H and I sat and stared at the empty screen.  Turns out m/c has occurred a couple weeks earlier (due to random genetic abnormality) and tissue had already begun to break down.  But... my body apparently wasn't able to accept that.  Despite 3 rounds of high dose Cytotech my cervix never opened but man I had back labor!  So a d&c was done.  4 days later, fever.  Massive fever.  Found tissue still present when ultrasound was performed.  3 more rounds of Cytotec (yay 6 days of labor) to see if I could do it myself now that my cervix was surgically opened just prior.  No good.  Another d&c and only a few days before Christmas.  She went in guided with vaginal ultrasound and found LOTS of tissue that wasn't ever visible.  So yeah...  Cleared to try again as of 1/14 and apparently... that was the day I ovulated... so here I am!

Anyone needs to chat, I'm here.  Otherwise, please forgive any craziness from me.  I'm super nervous.

    2. How far along are you?
    4w4d

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Honestly, I don't know if I can look forward to any of the early happy  moments. Heartbeat, betas, ultrasounds, 12weeks... all were considered proof that I was "safe" last pregnancy.  I don't think I'll truly be happy/relaxed until I hit the point that it becomes a delivery  with medical intervention and not just a m/c

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Too early.  But my anxiety has me SO thirsty!

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? Being on these boards.  It's so nice to have someone to talk to!

  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.
I think I'm ready to move over here. I had my first BFP in Oct and had a natural MC on the 2nd of Dec after a normal ultrasound at 8weeks. As of yesterday I have my second BFP! (Additional info, I'm 26 and DH is 25. I'm American and he's Tanzanian and we live in Tanzania)

    2. How far along are you? 4weeks 2 days (edd 10/10/16)

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to? I feel like I will be happy when I hit 12 weeks. Right now that seems so far away. Knowing I had a perfectly fine ultrasound at 8wks and then lost my baby the first time around I feel a lot more nervous/un-trusting.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: DH started a new job today which involves him getting up super early. I'm not really a morning person AND today is my off day but I woke up at the same time as him and couldnt go back to sleep... I'm thinking an afternoon nap will be in order.

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? Staying busy mostly. When I'm at work or running errands I feel like I hardly even think about being pregnant but in the slow moments is when I remember and then I try and focus on positive affirmations.

  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in. Hello, everyone! I got pregnant for the first time on my first cycle NTNP, but it ended in a miscarriage at 9 weeks. I went in for my first ultrasound and, although everything was measuring correctly, there was no heartbeat.

    2. How far along are you? 4 weeks, 2 days

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to? I'm taking it day to day! I'm just so excited to be pregnant again that I'm trying to enjoy every minute.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I had a positive test pretty early (3 weeks, 4 days), and after that had a few days of light spotting. I'm going in for my second blood draw tonight so my doctor can verify that it was implantation (which she suspects) or something more sinister. I would really just love if this process came with any kind of certainty, but I guess that's not how any of it works.

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? Reading all of your stories and how hopeful and positive you are! The TTC board was really helpful for me when we started trying again after the loss, and I think this board will be just as supportive.  Thank you and fingers crossed for all of us!
  • @anna.oskar That's great news! I'm waiting to get the results from my beta today. They were 156 on Monday. *Fingers crossed*

Doc wasn't amazed by today's number (for only actually being 46hrs I'll take it) so I've gotta blood Friday too.  If I make it through that one with great rise, then I do the 2 week wait until another beta.

  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in. Hello, my name is Kristy. Hopefully this will be our first kid. I had a loss in early January. I thought getting pregnant again right away would be the easiest way to move on... I'm not sure about that now, but here we are

    2. How far along are you? 4 weeks

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to? My doctirs office schedules a pregnancy class immediately to cover major dos and donts and to introduce you yo the office and doctor staff since its a collaborative midwife practice so that and the 1st dr appointment at 8 weeks.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I know it's really early but I don't feel any symptoms and that's really scary.

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? @joyful08  this is probably odd but looking at baby stuff is also what helped me get over my loss so I'm sure it will help here as well. Other than that I'm glad to hear everyone else's bc my anxiety is through the roof.

  • @anna.oskar Yeah they make me go like 4 or 5 times, even when my numbers are fine. You doubled, so you're good. I call this part "Beta Hell" cause I just stress out over my numbers and waiting for the results. Lol.

Got mine this morning. 460! Up from 156 on Monday! Have to wait for the nurse to call later today tho and tell me what's next.

@SuperKristy85 I'm not really having any symptoms right now either, which freaked me out at first because normally I'm a mess right away. I keep trying to remind myself that every pregnancy is different but it's hard to not stress about it. Lol

  • I don't have any symptoms either (a touch of rhinitis but that could be allergies) and it terrifies me.  I know it's early, but I didn't have any last time either and puking my guts out this time would be great since then I'd KNOW this pregnancy is completely different from the last.

PGAL is pregnant after a loss. This thread is for moms who have suffered a miscarriage in the past, but are now expecting. A full list of abbreviations can be found in the Guidelines post.

Hi girls. I'm pregnant after miscarrying my first pregnancy last year. At the first trimester screening, the baby's heartbeat was gone and it measured the same as the 8-week ultrasound. I went through a pretty rough emotional and physical recovery after D&C so I'm just thankful I finally got back to (relatively ) normal. My EDD is 10/2 so it is still early...guess I would say I'm trying to be cautiously optimistic this time

    2. How far along are you?
    5w6d

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
    Seeing a heartbeat

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Even if this can be terrifying and sickening (the AL part), I just love being pregnant! Maybe I'm delirious from exhaustion but I feel peaceful

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety?
A combo or rotation of: being too tired to worry, telling myself that relaxation is my best bet when I am getting worked up over mc fears, reminding myself that my doctor said it is unlikely to happen again (fx), making little changes to live healthier
  • 1. Introduce yourself if this is your first PGAL check in.
    I'm Michi. I have a DD who is 10 months old; I had a m/c in August 2015.
    2. How far along are you? 4 weeks.

    3. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
    Our first big anatomy scan.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I'm feeling the same fatigue I felt with my DD so that makes me feel positive.

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety? I've been walking at least 2-3 miles Monday through Friday and looking up baby stuff for Hazelnut <-----And we've given the baby a nickname. It helps keep my mind in a positive place.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: rant: why does time go by as slow as molasses in these early weeks? Lol

    5. GTKY: What's helping most with your PGAL anxiety?  Distracting myself with all my kids activities. :)
