6 week ultrasound, no pole or heartbeat

I've been spotting the last 14 days so my doctor had me in for an early u/s. We saw the gestational sack and yolk sack, but no heartbeat or pole visible. My hcg measured 17,500. Anyone with a similar experience that could provide peace of mind for me?

    Wish I had something to say other than I started spotting today and dr can't get me in til tomorrow for an ultrasound :/ prayers for you and your LO

     At 6 weeks the heart beat has barely started if it has at all. So take some comfort in that. I'm so sorry you are going through this.
    some spotting can be normal I had some and am now doing well at 18 so hoping and praying it is the same for you!

    It could still be early to make a clear diagnosis, your dates could be slightly off. One hcg test alone won't provide information whether the pregnancy is developing properly in spite of the bleeding. You should ask your doctor to get a follow up hcg 48-72 hours later to see if it's rising properly. 

    I know it's hard but the best you can do is wait, try not to worry too much and rest, as much as you can. Keeping you in my prayers.

    I'm 6w0d and we just went for my first u/s last night. The tech told me first thing that they might not be able to see anything yet. I know that's hard but try to be patient. Your hcg numbers are good.
