I'm 23w5d and this week I've noticed baby's movements are a lot stronger than they ever have been. Now instead of jittery gas movements, they feel like actual kicks and punches. I actually have been feeling some with my hand, I'm so excited for my husband to feel too. Just wanted to share and hear other experiences :) I'm due May 21 with a boy

Re: movements definately stronger this week!

  • My strong movements started around 22 weeks.. she was super active and then became not so active which bothered me at first but everything was fine at my appointment. She is starting to pick back up again. Most active in the mornings at work and at night when I lay down. It's so much fun feeling her move I also feel them with my hand and SO has felt one kick so far. Such a fun time for us mommas!

  • Mine too, 23w2d...loving it!!!
  • I have an anterior placenta and felt NOTHING until 25 weeks. Now, just a week later, the movements are STRONG. So reassuring!
  • Same here!  23 weeks 1 day and his kicks just started getting really strong a few days ago.  Last night DH felt him for the first time!!

  • I think my baby girl hates the fetal Doppler... I still listen for her heartbeat when I don't feel movement for awhile. Just a comfort thing! and most of the time when I place the Doppler on my belly she kicks or punches it and I end up laughing. Feisty already :)

Anterior placenta here too. I'm 23 weeks and feel little movements, but they're sporadic and sometimes I go a day without feeling anything - which makes this FTM nervous! Your post reassured me!

Another anterior placenta here.  At my 24 week appointment I remember telling the nurse the movements were sporadic and not very strong and being nervous about it.  Now I'm 25 weeks and literally within the past week it's like movement has exploded!  I feel definite movement every day and am starting to track patterns.  My H and I both saw a kick from the outside a few days ago.  You will feel movement soon, I'm sure!

  • Same here, now at 25 weeks its very overwhelming at times as a FTM! There is just so much going on in our bellies, its the most amazing thing feeling your baby inside you.
  • I've been feeling movement since week 17, even with an anterior placenta, but this week (22), I've been feeling more like she's punching me rather than just moving around. Also feeling a lot more deep down, all over the bottom part. My vision of her alternates between a little karate kid and a tap dancer.
  • Feeling movement every day since the 18th week. I can record punches and little kicks for the past 4. It's amazing and while watching movies, I can only focus on my little man doing his thing! I'm a FTM and to be honest, never really thought I would feel baby move this intense, such a miracle! I'm 26 weeks today.
  • I can't believe how strong the movement has become over the past week.  I'll be 24 weeks on Friday and am feeling elbows and knees already.  I was concerned earlier this month because I wasn't feeling anything strong.  Now I think I have a brute in there- I love it!!
  • Movement is definitely stronger here too. Love feeling my little guy. My dh was able to feel him several times too.

  • Movement is stronger for me too!! I am 23w4 days and they just keep getting stronger. I too have an anterior placenta so it took me longer than my friends to feel her move but now even my hubby can feel her kicking too-though sometimes she just stops kicking as soon as he puts his hand on my belly! Cheeky wee girl! :)
  • I wish my placenta could relocate to in between baby and my bladder.  Is that physically possible?

I think baby is training for an Irish dancing career.

I also think I might have to invest in adult diapers.
  • Ahh me too!!!! :D DH and I were watching my belly yesterday and it looks like there is a tornado going on under my skin. So cool :) and WAY different than my last pregnancy <3 things are looking good for my little rainbow.
  • Maybe i'm not the norm but I have an anterior placenta too and have been feeling movements since week 15. This is my first baby. At my 18 week appointment, my doctor was really surprised I had already felt her move. Now i'm 25+3, and I feel this baby move constantly! It's so weird!

  • I have been labeled anterior placenta but I think it's only on the left side, I started feeling her stronger than ever and more consistent starting at 22 weeks, it wasdaily at least one set of 4-5 real kicks and other random movements ... Now at 23, she kicks every time I eat and other random smaller ones.

  • I've been feeling baby fairly consistently for the past week, but can't feel her from the outside yet.  It is super weird to feel her kicking when I'm trying to have a conversation with someone,  when I keep just wanting to tell baby to stop kicking myself cervix  (or whatever) k  thnx.

  • I have anterior placenta also; I also have a layer of fat on my belly since that is where most of my fat gathers in general.  U/S tech said my anterior placenta was up high so I'm ASSUMING that means it isn't covering the bottom part?  Not sure how that works exactly.  All I know is I am feeling flutters every day this week and that is odd.  I have heard/read that babies can hear outside sounds while in the womb.  So, I have been playing some kids songs.  The other day I swear she was having a dance party down there. I was playing Wee Sing Bible Songs; I felt one flutter after another in the same spot for a few minutes.  I am assuming that the flutters are her kicking/punching.  Least I hope that is what it is.

  • The little sprocket has definitely hit a growth spurt here too.

    My development was pretty much:

21 weeks: kicks are clearly "kicks" to me internally, no longer tingles or little popcorn pops
22 weeks: kicks are externally perceptible, husband can feel them
23 weeks: kicks are strong enough to visibly shift a blanket laid over my lap

I'm at 24 weeks now and I can see the kicks through ordinary clothing almost every day. It's still pretty freaky. Good to know the sprocket's still alive in there, I guess, but I'm still not used to this being the new normal.
  • I was playing music on my phone last night and set my phone right on my belly... man was she having a party in there with the music playing :)
  • Just awhile ago at work my friend was able to feel a kick and then a few of my co workers were in my office talking and laughing and I had my hands on my belly.. I felt the weirdest and by far the biggest movement up by my rib. Not sure if it was an elbow or a roll or what but it was super cool. Now she's pretty still that its quiet again.
  • Baby boy managed to start kicking hard enough for me to see from outside. Was so weird but cool! DH also managed to see - I was happy cause he hasn't been able to really feel yet. So cool how they grow, the day before I could not see anything! I love it!
  • Have felt movement since about 20 weeks and they are just getting stronger as the days move on im now 22 weeks and 5 days and my dh felt them from the outside the other night! What an amazing feeling for this ftm!!!
  • Last night was the first time I felt a kick from the outside. I've been feeling them for about a week on the inside. Hoping my husband gets to feel it soon! 25w/2d
  • I was feeling more activity from 20-23 weeks, then in 24-25 weeks I hit a growth spurt and have only been feeling a few kicks here and there.  I've read that it's common for babies to sleep more during growth spurts as well as when mom is more active. My appetite finally getting back under control, so I'm hoping to feel an increase in kicks soon!
  • I've felt movements since around..... 18 weeks? They really kicked up at around 20 weeks maybe??? They have been crazy strong here lately though,  the past couple of weeks? I'm 25 weeks now, and it's gotten to where she kicks the mess out of me and I jump. Can see from the outside too!

I love seeing and feeling her kick!
  • I'm 23 weeks with a boy and some of his kicks or punches are so big that you can see them! We were laying in bed a free nights ago and he got jumpy so i pulled up my shirt and hubby felt him for a minute, the he did this huge like karate move and my stomach went crazy and hubby started uncontrollably laughing! It was awesome... Lol
