Is my baby the only one who's never slept more than 5.5hrs at night?

I am pouring over all these threads looking for someone in my situation: I'm FTM, LO is 15 weeks and the longest he has ever slept at night is 5.5 hours and I can count on one hand how many times that's happened (3! 3 times that's happened).
Typical night is: nursed to sleep around 7:30, wakes up around 10-11PM (I just soothe him with a belly rub and paci), wakes up again around midnight (BF him), wakes up again around 2 or 3AM. By this time, I am so over it, I just put him in the swing and he'll sleep from 2 or 3AM till about 7, 7:30.
I keep reading about all these other babies who STTN and or wake up only once or sleep 7hr stretches and it's killing my morale. I'm going on over 15 weeks of never having slept myself for more than 4.5hrs!
I've tried miracle blanket, Halo swaddle sack, Merlin's magic sleep suit, nothing works and I feel like a failing mother. Even his naps are abbreviated at 30 minutes.
Gee, I CAN"T wait until sleep regression starts (sarcasm).
Anyone reading this or are the other sleep deprived mothers like me too exhausted to be on The Bump?

I think your situation is definitely more normal than it appears by reading threads on the bump. Have you tried feeding at the 10p wake up? I've found that if I feed at the first wake up she will usually then give me a much longer stretch. I have also been bringing her to bed with me which guarantees a long stretch of sleep.
Hang in there, longer stretches will come eventually!!

  • I appreciate all you mommas' responses, I do. It just helps knowing LO and I aren't alone in this. Thank you all!

I've slept trained my LO, some may say it's cruel but the tough love method works wonders. Not just for you, but for your baby.
Just reading tough love knowing it's in reference to a 3 or 4 month old baby makes me cringe. To each their own I suppose.

  • I EBF and my LO literally hurray started sleeping 7hour streches! It's amazing too because I stared back to worj this week. I think what's happening is he isn't eating as much during the day (he prefers nursing over the bottle) so in the evenings I'm cluster feeding and he's going to bed with an extra full tummy!
  • This baby is my sleeper, but longest my first son slept in his first year was 7 hours and it lasted only 1 night around 6.5 months old.

^^ This. I mean seriously, WTF?  Sleep "training" isn't recommended before six months. Do some research.
