Blood in the Uterus

I had bleeding last week and had an ultrasound the following day. The doctor called and told me that there was blood in the uterus....very brief conversation and limited information. Now we have a follow up appointment in a few days. I hate googling things because I feel like it causes more stress. I am very nervous and hate the waiting. Also I am 10w 3d and was getting excited to tell our families. But now I (we) are nervous too share.

Has as anyone else experienced blood in the uterus?

Not personally, but sounds like a subchorionic hematoma (SCH). It's pretty common and usually no cause for concern. Most of the time they resolve on their own, though your doctor will probably monitor you closely. I hope all looks good at your next appointment and you get some more answers.

When I went to the doctor for my first ultrasound at 8w2d, he said there was fluid in my uterus as well. (most likely blood) and said to expect some spotting. He wasn't concerned. And funny thing is I never did spot at all. (I am at 11w1d now).

I had it during my last pregnancy. They told me I would either spot or my body would reabsorb it. I spotted a few weeks later and have a beautiful baby girl.

I had it at 5.5 weeks. Had a major bleed out and thought the worst. Went for my dating ultrasound and was shown the SCH (subchorionic hematoma)
it was classified as "small" but took a full 2 weeks to drain out. I was told to "take it easy" until it either bled out or reabsorbed.
Fingers crossed for you, im now 12 weeks and think everything is fine.
Havent had another scan yet

I have been bleeding off and on for about 6 weeks now. I had a few ultrasounds (one to rule out an ectopic pregnancy and another one as an ER follow-up on ruling out the ectopic pregnancy). It wasn't until my dating ultrasound two weeks ago that my doctor saw some bleeding in my uterus, around the placenta. He didn't call it a subchorionic hematoma, but that's what he described to me. As others have mentioned, I was told to take it easy and no sex until my follow-up in three weeks (which is now next Tues). My OB said these things very often resolve on their own and cause no further problems. As a maternal/child health RN, I can also tell you that I've very rarely seen small, early SCHs be a problem to the pregnancy.

Even though I know the statistics are way in my favor, I'm still a nervous wreck about it. I hope all of us going through this get great news at our follow-up visits in the coming days/weeks.

I had one too. Bled heavily at 5weeks and a few days and expected the worse.. had my hormone levels checked and an u/s at 6 weeks and baby was growing. Repeat ultrasound at 7 weeks showed a small SCH near my cervix. I bled/spotted for a full month. Still spotting a little now, but had my dating ultrasound last week at 9 weeks and SCH is mostly resolved.
