Ear infection in almost 6 month old

my little girl has an ear infection and because of the pain she can't even lay down to sleep. Once I set her down she cries nonstop. I know it has to hurt her, obviously, but does anyone know if there are any signs I should look for to know if it's getting worse?  Or what should I look for if I have to bring her back in?

    Is she on antibiotics?  They usually start working after 24 hours or so.  I would give her Motrin (ask your Dr for the correct dose).

    My five month old is just getting over an ear infection. We had her sleep in the rock n play a few nights to help with the pain. The antibiotics helped with in 24 hours after we started them and she was able to go back to her crib.
