No Braxton hicks?!

I'm 32 weeks and 4 days and haven't had any braxton hicks is this ok not to have them at all? Will my body still be ready for birth?... FTM so just wondering. TIA

Re: No Braxton hicks?!

  • I never had them with the first, and haven't with this one either. If I remember correctly, your body still has them at some point but not always strong enough to feel it?

  • I never had them with my first. Just started having them this week, at 33 weeks, with my second. You will be ready for delivery! Don't worry!

  • Not everyone feel them, so don't worry!
  • You may not feel them. I was hooked up at L&D for real contractions and I was having a combo of real and BH. They were only 4 minutes apart but I wasn't feeling the BH
  • I never felt them with my first but I have been having them since 24 weeks with this one.

  • My cousin never felt hers.  I had a few I felt around 20 weeks or so but haven't felt any since then.
  • I never had any with my first either : )
  • I didn't feel/have them with my first or second babies but with this one I get them all the time. Your body will still be ready :)
  • I thought I wasn't having any either but then I became high risk with a ginormous baby and gestational diabetes. They started monitoring the baby twice a week and apparently I'm having them and had no clue. So really you could be having them and just not know it!
  • Never had them with my first. Might have had a few with this one but not entirely sure. I wouldn't worry it really doesn't mean anything if you do or don't have them.
  • You might not notice them. I'll have a moment every few days or so where I notice my stomach is super hard all over, I know that's a contraction but other than feeling my stomach with my hand I have no indication of it happening, so I honestly don't know how often I have contractions because I'm not always touching my stomach, lol.

With my first I only got them when I was over 30 weeks and usually when I got up from sitting at my desk for a while. I usually had to pee too so it was like a tight hard belly but that was weird but not necessarily painful. When I went into labor it felt like that coupled with menstrual cramping and the pain wrapped around my back like a band of "fun"? Haha. Now being a TTM my BHs are somewhat painful and usually stop me in my tracks but again I can tell they aren't "real". They have been happening probably since week 20.

  • I've had no noticeable BH, but when I asked about it in birthing class she said that I'm having them, and just can't feel them

  • I haven't had noticeable BH either and my doctor told me that is totally normal and that she didn't have them with her DD either. So, don't worry! And maybe be happy you haven't had to deal with them.
  • I had no idea that the odd pelvic pressure i was
feeling were BH! (I assumed it was just baby pressing down there) it wasnt until i had an issue and had a NST that the midife told me
i was having them! Now that i know what im feeling for i recognise them. Plus they have got alot more regular since then lol
  • I'm 35w 6d. I could feel my belly getting tight throughout the day, and always thought it was just the baby stretching. I had a NST last week and had 3 contractions and finally put together that the tightening was a contraction, not baby! They never hurt, just felt tight. So you could have them and not notice. Mine are getting stronger though. I had one wake me in the middle of the night last night and that one DID hurt.
