Hi guys! I'm 7 weeks pregnant with twins. I was too shocked to ask the tech if she knew of they were identical or fraternal... Anyone have a good Guess from experience if there is one placenta or two?
It looks like two separate sacs which would mean fraternal. But I'm not a Dr. Congrats!
Not quite. My husband is an identical twin. They were in separate sacks with a shared placenta. Identicals can share everything (most dangerous) out nothing (best case).
Fraternal twins are in separate sacks with their own placentas.
Without DNA testing (or one of each sex) you don't know if babies in separate sacks are identical or fraternal until birth.
Mommy to N (3), J (2), and C (10 months). LO4 is due in mid-September.
