Just for fun- name(s) you've picked if you're still waiting on your baby

Since those of us still waiting are likely bored or frustrated and looking for distractions, have you selected a name or finalist names you'll be choosing from? (I love lurking the name board but obviously care more about everyone here so I'm curious.)

We never settle on a name until after the baby is born, but for this little girl I think it's down to Nora and Rory. DH also likes Riley and double first names with Mary (Mary Clare, Mary Frances, Mary Margaret) but Riley is a bit too trendy for me and the Mary combination names, while lovely, sound like nun names and we are Irish and Catholic as it is so it feels like overkill. ;)

  • We're stuck between Tess and Rose.  We really love both options but want to wait to meet her and decide.  I feel like Tess is more feisty and cerebral, and Rose is more classic and beautiful (and the nickname Rosie is very cute.)  I'm hoping I'll know once I see her little face!  :)

We have a middle name game where each day around her due date has a different middle name we'll use, but if I have to get induced, we'll throw that out and then just pick our faves.  I think they would currently be:

Tess Emmeline or Tess Violet, or
    Rose Quinlan

(The middles are all family names, other than Emmeline, we just like the sound of it.)

We loved Nora. Her name would have been Nora Adele, which we loved but we didn't love Nora without the middle name with our last name. It broke our hearts. We settled on Kylie Adele and I love it, but it was something that didn't come off our short list, we came up with it in labor and delivery lol

  • My sister's name is Mary and I've always loved it. Her middle name is Ann, which somehow sounds less nun-like, but she was only ever called Mary Ann if she was in trouble. Ahaha. Most people won't use the double name anyway...

I've settled on Juliet for this sweet baby girl, if she ever decides to make an arrival.

  • @maureenmce Both those names were on my list as well.  DH and I both have 1 syllable names so we wanted short and sweet!  We chose Rose Renèe.  But we'll just call her Rose (or Rosie or Rosebud lol).
  • Brantley for a boy and Quinn for a girl. Can't wait to see which one it's gonna be!

  • Theron Gregory :) I'm not a huge fan of Gregory but it's a family name on hubby's side and it went well with a lot of the names we liked.
  • DS is Troy Joseph. We had picked Liliana Marie months ago, but a few weeks ago I started hating it. Now we are still stuck again but our current favorites are:

    Talia Noelle
    Isabella Marie
    Sophia Marie
    Sophie Louise
    Hannah Louise
    Hannah Michelle

  • @paigeyferd - Love Rose Renee, what a lovely choice!  :)

And @claireloSC - I adore the name (or nickname) Poppy!  It is super feisty and adorable.  My boss's boss has a little 4 year old named Poppy and she lives up to both aspects of the name.  It was on our short list actually, but we finally decided that one syllable first names fit better with our surname.  But anyway, love Penelope and love the Poppy nn!  :)
  • Well be naming our little girl Charlotte Grace (if she ever decides to get here lol)
  • Thank you so much @maureenmce! I'm slightly partial to Tess for the feisty part - I love girl names with a little spunk to them! :) I'm assuming Maureen is your first name...another name I love - it's my mom's name!

  • @kristanoah putting my vote in for Talia Noelle. I loooove it! Sounds good with Troy and I'm a sucker for a name that flows.
  • We've picked Autumn Sophia
  • We named our DD Laurel Rosina and didn't have any other options for girls, but had two for boys since we were Team Green. If the baby had been a boy we probably would've named him Dean William, but called him Tripp. My DH and FIL are both Deans but different middle names so he wouldn't have been a third but there still would've been 3 of them and I think calling him Tripp would have given him a unique identity.
  • @BarrettJ89 Thanks for your vote! So far it's our favorite too. Our only concern is that we would be starting a T trend in naming our kids and we want a few more haha

  • If this little girl ever decides to come out (40+3 now...), she will be Amelia Michelle! Michelle is my 14 year old sister's name. I was there when she was born (I was 12) and she will be there when Amelia is born. We picked Amelia as a strong, old fashioned name, and inadvertently named her after Amy Pond from Doctor Who
  • @kristanoah We started that way, kind of. My SO has a daughter from his first marriage, Kayla. Then together we have Cohen. I couldn't do it again. Lol so now we've got Brynlee. Between the kids and the animals, I mix up the names regardless of initials...
  • Eva Rose :)  Eva was both of our Great-Grandmother's names and Rose is a family name for my husband.
  • DD2 will be Arizona after Dr. Arizona Robbins from Grey's Anatomy. SO is named after his mom's favorite soap opera. It was Dr. Arizona Robbins for a girl or Dr. Luka Kovac for a boy. I love my medical shows and SO is into them too.
Her nickname will be Ari. Ari means lion in hewbrew. I'm Jewish.
  • @Life is Exciting we were deciding between Eva Rose and Emma Rose and ended up choosing the latter. Love the name though

    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers
  • @CaraBoonie we didn't do it on purpose, but as soon as I realized one of her namesakes would be Amelia Pond I knew she could have no other name!!
  • Isabelle Marjorie May if it's a girl.
Marjorie is my grandma's name, may is my husband's grandma name

Connor Austin if it's a boy.
Austin is my grandma's maiden name and also my middle name.

"Life is Exciting" we named our girl Eva Josephine. Love the name!
  • If he ever decides to arrive, our baby boy will be Levi Clarence. We both have 4 letter first names so we wanted to keep the trend! And it sounds good with our last name. Clarence after hubbys grandfather who passed just before we met. If he had been a girl she would have been Lillian (lily) Priscilla. Lily because we both liked it, and Proscilla after my gram who passed when I was in college. I hope to have a little girl in the future so I can use her name!

I love all of you who chose Rose! I love flower names, we couldn't choose Rose though it's our beloved dog's name! Poppy is such a great flower name too!!

hopefully we can meet our tiny loves soon!
